Ok 2 more questions;

Has there been a change of development leadership/companies taking over MWO, cuz i saw them talk in here http://mwomercs.com/...ogram-feedback/ as if IGP and PGI are 2 different companies who spit way or has taken over the other?

How can i take advantage of this "faction/clan war thing" and is it beneficial in game?
And is there anything else similar to this outside of the game client that helps in game that i should know about and take advantage of

PGI stands for Piranhha Games Inc and IGP stands for Infinite Games Publishing. They are 2 separate companies. PGI is the developer and IGP was the publisher. PGI has now cut ties with IGP so they are also publishing their own game.

clan vs IS is probably not a short question ;) Basically there are several different factions all fighting each other. The Inner Sphere (IS) is controlled by different houses. The clans are a group that split off some time ago, left known space, and now they are coming back to conquer everything. This is all lore based. For now, factions don't play a role yet. Community Warfare is in development which will make choosing a faction important. There's lots more to this question, mind you. Just trying to summarize it.

Check out this post. It's still the same devs, I guess one way to put it, is restructuring in a few areas like publishing, hosting and so on so that everything is in one spot.

IMHO, that's Community Warfare and that is still in the future. There will be restrictions in the mechs you can field based on faction, you will gain loyalty points towards factions and as the timeline progresses, that will reset so that you realign based on the available faction and player preference.

There are a few other relevant Command Chair posts, but these two a good start.

They always were separate companies, PGI has been around for over a decade but IGP only a few years. IGP also published other games that PGI had nothing to do with (MWT and some fantasy strategy/moba dark ages thing)

If I buy the enhanced zoom and put it on one mech can it be changed to another if I decide to switch rides for a couple of rounds?

Yes, modules can be moved. It's highly recommended, too since they are crazy expensive.

I have to ask, how does Artemis work exactly?
I know it increases lock-on speed, and the missiles will fly in a tighter group but does it anything else?
Does it have LOS requirement like the tabletop game?

The MWO wiki claims the missiles will track location but i'm pretty sure normal missiles do that already.

I've played this game for a long time and Artemis is just about the only thing i don't know how it works, never found it to be worth the extra cost and weight and crit-space...

Line of sight required, although I'm not sure if it needs LOS on lock, on contact, or full duration; or if Artemis will turn on/off if you lose/gain LOS during the missile flight.

Artemis LRMs have quicker lock times, tighter missile spread (more damage to your target's CT!) and tighter missile tracking strength (missile turn better)

Artemis SRMs have tighter grouping.

Artemis SSRMs still seem to gain faster lock-time even though Artemis is not supposed to affect SSRMs (but the game only has one missile lock, imagine if you had LRMs and SSRMs, how would Artemis know which you intended to fire?)

I am aware of the BattleTech Universe and I'm pretty sure its very extensive. I have read some of it to know of what's going on in general, I believe that the IS is the "good guys" (I put it in "" cuz of who really is the good guy in a war) also what's the difference between Clans and Factions, I ask cuz of "Clan" tech. Or maybe I can answer that myself, Clans are inside the Faction and the Clan tech belongs to that particular Clan?

WOW, Community Warfare sounds REALLY COOL I almost can't wait now that I've read "Community Warfare - Phase 2". I REALLY like the idea of the choke points especially the barriers, thx.

@TheCaptainJZ: Oh, I just read the first link and found the date, sooo yaaa.

Thank you, Redshift2k5.

Technically it happened early September, but PGI was "flying solo" for much of august as well, I guess to see if they could handle it without IGP (IGP previously provided QA, answered all the support tickets, and did marketing)

Since the split we've had tons of communication from PGI and a big fat anniversary gift of free swag for various types of support over the past year(s). They are also taking big steps towards listening better to player feedback.

A "faction" is a group. clans are a specific group; the IS vs Clans could be said to be faction vs faction. Individual Houses or Clans could also said to be a faction.

The Clans believe themselves to be the rightful heirs of the once-great Star League, the ancestors of the Clans lived in the Inner Sphere. They think they are rightfully reclaiming territory and that their battle honor system prevents casualties normally seen in open warfare.

Loyalty points don't exist yet, we don't know what they will do. Being in a faction does not yet do anything, and what affect being in a faction will have in CW is not known.

We do know organized Units (created in the Faction tab in the game) will be bidding on contracts and fighting to attack/defend worlds.

What, if any, CW gameplay is available to players not using the Unit system is not known.

Howdy. I don't know if this has been posted anywhere else but I can't seem to find it and I cannot post my own topics yet so forgive me for posting in here. But anyways, my problem is that I cannot purchase MC. How long does it take to receive the MC after you buy it? I see the green check mark after the end of the transaction but I do not get any notifications telling me it has or has not gone through. Does it just take a day or two to process?

It's been a while since I purchased MC, but from what I remember, the transaction was instantaneous, unlike purchasing some mechs that have to be injected at certain times. I could be wrong about this. Was the transaction charged to your payment method? Check your bank/credit card/paypal etc. to see if you were charged. If not, there was probably a glitch somewhere and the whole transaction just didn't work. If you were charged but haven't received MC, you may want to contact support.

Don't they send an e-mail verification when you try to purchase MC? I purchased (or tried to) via my CC.

EDIT: Oh, and I can't seem to contact support.. Is there a phone # or e-mail address I am missing?

Support e-mail is support@mwomercs.com - they've got a bit of a backlog, so it might take a few days for 'em to get back to you. Also, you should know, since they recently changed their payment processing service, it can take a day or two for purchases to be completed.

Sorry man, I've got nothin'. If I were you I'd check your CC/Bank statement to make sure the payment was processed on your end. If it was, it should only be a day or two before it goes through on PGI's payment processor's end too.
