Short Question, Short Answer

In general, chain fire is less effective than grouped fire anyway. As you gain experience, you'll find that the most effective technique is to get as much damage as possible done in as short a time as possible, and then torso twist away from your target so that return fire impacts less critical parts of your mech.
When you're chain firing, you basically create a great deal of what is called "face time" with an enemy. It means that you are facing your target a great portion of the time. This is considered a Bad Thing . Grouping your weapons into logical and tactical groups will help you reduce your face time, and increase your longevity on the battlefield.
The longer you're on the battlefield, the more opportunity you will have to do damage, increasing the chances your team has of winning the match.

A full Alpha with a Warhawk is, as I repeatedly discovered, not advisable. So yeah, chain firing.

And is there a list that tells me what name who is going by now?
Or can I email someone my list of players from MW4, that I still have a grudge against, and they'll email me back everyone's allias?

How do you deal and work around the weak feedback mwo is giving you in combat?
- For instance why can someone shoot my mech with a laser from an angle I can't see the beam say behind? The only warning i get half of the time is a little blinking down in the lower left right corner. The sound effect just doesn't seem to play most of the time, particularly in heavier combat. This has driven me absolutely up the walls with light mechs such as adder that orient around sticking with the group and not taking hits. The worst scenario i've had was been shot by a chain gauss shot. first one stripped the armor, my mech didn't shake nor any sort of damage sound did play and the second shot just blew the shoulder clean off. all happening in the space of about 1 and half seconds.
And while we're on the topic what's with the game's hit feedback. particularly on long ranges. A simple slowly colorchanging crosshair feels about as fufilling as drawing a dot with a pen.
I did install the game expecting mechporn what i got was pretty pictures with no feeling at all in the action. (I'm not saying add some obnoxious out of place call of duty splat though. but we have targetting computers, surely they could confirm a hit with audio aswell if we can't hear the armor crack and buckle from high energy weapons or the occasional golfcart those ac 20s fire.)
ps. Does gauss riffle have some sort of armor penetration mechanic that punches through armor to damage and crit the components behind that armor and then damage the back armor aswell? Taken a few gaus shots from the front that've dealt minimal/no damage to the armor facing the gun, damaging the component slightly but wrecked the armor facing away from the gun. Died to it twice or thrice when rear armor was stripped with something else before hand.
Are you sure your PC can handle the game? Even if it does meet or exceed the specs, try reducing the overhead by downloading CCleaner and use it to disable programs that are launching themselves at bootup. Adobe and MS Office are two of the biggest offenders, but many other programs "pre-launch" so as to respond quicker when you launch them. I also recommend Defraggler (also from Piriform) to defrag your HD. It's the best I've seen in many years.

I'm sorry, I think you meant "revolving door for all kinds of piggybacking spamware, spyware, and other problems."

I'm trying to run MWO in Windows 8.1 but it seems when I click the patch button, it asks me for the terms of use which I couldn't accept because the program doesn't allow me. The only thing I can do is just press decline which ultimately closes the program.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to MWO.
I know the game will ask if you want to take the tutorial. It...kinda blows but by all means go ahead and try it. After this, please try the "Testing Ground" with various trial mechs. This will give you a chance to practice movement and controls as well as get a feel for how each unit plays.
In 25 matches you'll have enough
Note: The matchmaker has a tendency of throwing you into some really wild matches while it tries to gauge your skill level. Between this and the fact that mechs generally need to be torn apart limb from limb (go for legs and avoid the 'Big' enemies; best hints a new player can get)... and you'll have a rough start. Between 100 and 200 damage without kills is very normal for a new player.
After 25 matches in one mech class (feel free to bounce between them for your first 25 for the

Kodiak is a second line mech. PGI has stated before (this was back during the end of wave 1 releases, and before wave 2 was even considered) that they will not put second line mechs in until they are done with the front line ones. So I would put my money on wave 5 or 6 to have the Kodiak.
Then again, they might do something like what they did with Resistance 1 and 2, where they gave us a poll and we voted on which mechs to have in the pack.
I like the Kodiak, if only those claws on it were not decorative. There is something quite satisfying about literally mauling an enemy mech using claws that big.
TL;DR: No plans as to when, but it probably will be.

Well, yes. They are stored in a file so if you have a specific edit to do you can open it up in notepad but you need to know what exactly you need to change.
