So do not buy a Mech because you like the quirks they will likely change soon

And do not sell a mech unless you super-absolutely need that bay. The Thunderbolt I got for free and held onto forever and a day turned awesome (heh, PPC pun) overnight. You never know what the new meta will be.

As google came up empty. Is there some post-battle screen apart from staying in battle til it finishes to view xp and cbill gain? ^^

There is not, at least not yet. This would be an incredibly welcomed thing for the stat page, maybe a memory of the last 5 matches.

I do remember seeing someone making a gadget or third party tool that would be able to get that information for you as well as numerous other stats immediately after a match; but it's been over a year since I seen it. Down in the community hyperpulse section.

The quirks for the Shadowhawk are not bad. It just doesn't have as good quirks as the HBK does. Also, keep in mind that the SHD is taller than a hunchback.

The Hunchback-4J has been my totem 'Mech in the game so far, but I have read that the new medium-class CRB Crabis being (or has just been released), and since that is my favourite'Mech ever since the days of Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, I am counting the days to when I can buy one (to relive my youth, so to speak) because I always loved that 'Mech and its abilities, even if it is a heavy energy 'Mech. But still not sure if I will spend MC on it first or just wait until it becomes optionable to buy with C-Bills.
Been waiting yonks for the medium Crab to make its appearance and now that it is here...I am in heaven <3

It will be some time before it is available for cbills. Like...winter? I'm too lazy to look up the FAQ right now.

Sorry if I have asked this here already, but I have heard news that the new medium-class CRB Crab has been released or will be released within a month, so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if that was true or not?

I ask only because the CRB-27 Crab has been my favourite Battlemech since the days of MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries and have longed to pilot it again ever since i first heard of it being developed for MWO. Do not ask me why the medium-class Crab is my favourite of all time, there is just something about its slick design, its speed and compliment of purely energy-based weapons that have always appealed to me (since I do not much like ballistic weapons or SRMs/LRMs, where you constantly run out of ammunition or have them destroyed before you can fully empty your load out on the battlefield.

And, if it is released/be released very soon, is it going to be sold only for MC right now, or for C-Bills? If it MC, then I guess I better put a bit of money away to buy one.

CRB-27 Crab = nostalgia overload ^^

The Medium Crab, I am talking about, I hope you know, not the King Crab. But if it is already in-game, then I will be loving the game even more, then. I would not mind buying it flat-out with MC (in fact, it is the only 'Mech that I actually would buy with real money), but if it will be available for C-Bills in January, then I might as well start grinding away to start earning more C-Bills so I can buy the 3 variants needed... might even pay MC just to get one of the others too...

I did not know it was in-game yet, so excuse my ignorance; I only found out about it a week ago, while scrolling through some YT videos and what some people commented.

The Crab 50 Ton Medium Mech arrived in game about a week ago as part of the Resistance 2 preorder pack, these days most Mechs are put up for preorder 3-6 monthe before initial release then there are usually 2-4 months before they come out for cbills

What's stackpoling?

Urban Dictionary did not provide an satisfactory definition.

Stackpoling is a term that refers to battlemech exploding violently when its fusion reactor is breached, which normally happens rarely (mechs often have safeguards to prevent that, IIRC). The term comes from the author Michael A. Stackpole, who has written a number of Battletech novels that feature battlemechs exploding upon destruction of their fusion reactors.

Basically, it's battlemechs exploding when they are destroyed for the sake of entertainment value.

Thanks, yep, that was the only I was referring to.
I never bother with pre-orders of other 'Mechs, since most turn out not to be to my liking, but for the 50 ton Crab, I am definitely going to make an exception to, once I buy the first 3 C-Bill variants.

Back out to your inventory menu. It will be accessible through one of the tabs on the left. That's where you can select chassis and equipment to sell. Resale value is pretty poor though, so consider carefully before you sell.

Note that the above is in the mechlab. Just an FYI, we generally advise against selling mechs unless you're really, really sure that you don't want it and/or want to free up the mech bay. Also, make sure to take the things off your mech that you want to keep before selling it.

I just downloaded Mech today. Where do I go to select a "free" mech I see other talking about on the forums?

I'd like to just try this out before spending any money on it.

thanks.

When you first start there are trial Mechs available, go to the select Mech screen and select trial as the filter.

I strongly advise first playing the tutorial, then all the optional extra missions at the accademy before launching into a match.

When you have played through all those I would advise trying all the trial Mechs and seeing what you like and dislikeabout each before buying your first Mech.

When you are ready to purchase your first Mech I would advise visiting the website www.smurfy.de/mechlab, where you can play around with Mech builds to figure out exactly what you want to build will cost (some Mechs, especialy Lights can cost 4 or more times there purchase cost to get to somethiln like there best), then go to the store and chose the Mech you want,

there are 2 types of currency used for buying Mechs, Cbills are earned in game and playing through the tutorial will get uoy about 5 million, the first 25 matches get you 8 million on top of match earnings, match earnings for 25 matches are likely to be 1.5-3 million depending on haw well you do, so after the tutoral and the first 25 matches you are likely to have about 15 million, that is enough to buy and outfit 1 Mech, although there are a few chassis which cost more than that
The other currency is MC, while you can earn some MC in game there is a limit to what you can earn, MC is more usualy obtained by spending real money. There are some MC only Mechs, these are Champion (c) Mechs ( pugraded versions ov Mechs available for free, it it always possible to get the exact same loadout for cbills, they also give. 30% XP boost), and Hero Mechs, heroes are a version of t chassis usualy offering a diferent hardpoint loadout to other varients, as well as a diferent cammo and 30% cbill earnings boost. MC is also used to buy cosmetic items (paint cammo, cockpit items, warhorns which play a sound when you get a kill) and to convert Mech XP to general XP
If you want advice on what to buy after you have the cadet bonus take notes of what you like and dislike about each Trial Lech, then come back and ask, the more information you give about likes and dislikes the better advice we will be able to give
