One of them is my Founder Jenner, the other two are just regular ones I bought with C-Bills back then. But like I said, my Mech Inventory lists nothing so I'm not sure how else I can sell them.

If they still aren't listed, try editing each one and saving it, (maybe strip them), then relog and check. Maybe they just need some activity on them to update or something. Cbill variants should always be sellable.

The new LFG menu is it only for CW or can you use it to find a group for quick matches too?

If I recall correctly, either one. It should give you the option which queue you want when you use it.

Oh. Apparently they are Loyalty Reward mechs. I don't remember that, but that's why I can't sell them.

Loyalty reward mechs, are like founders, and unique package variants. They give you a 30% C-Bill boost, and can't be sold. At the same time, each one comes with it's own mechbay, so they don't take away from your actual slot space.

Also, Check the filters up top for the mech select screen, and make sure you're seeing all your owned mechs.

I noticed that the cockpit items have an unequip button. Does that mean that if I buy an item and equip it to a mech, I can later remove the item from that mech and put it in another mech?

Yes, cockpit items can be moved between Mechs, you just cannot equip to multiple Mechs at once

Yes. you can unequip all items, including cockpit items, modules, weapons and engines (even armor points).
You can not unequip "upgrades" such as Double heat sinks, Artemis, Endo steel or Ferro armor, just switch them (cost every time) for this mech.

Getting ready to buy my first c-bill variant to work on my Elite skills. Question: when you buy a chassis, I assume you are getting a stripped, basic chassis and need to plan on having the c-bills handy to arm, armor, and equip the new variant? Or does it come with "stock kit?"

Most of them come with a pretty junky stock loadout. Some are good, though. Expect to pay for DHS for almost any IS mech at a minimum. 1.5 mil.

As Tim said they come with basic equipment, you can check them in STORE, or http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/
If you choose loadout on a mech which you have selected from the store you see it with the loadout it will be sold.
In Smurfy if you choose "Battlemechs" and scroll down the list (not via the pulldown menus) and select mechs from the list you will get them also in the stock loadout.

Cool, thanks both for clearing that one for me.

Next item - did a rookie mistake, bought my next Zeus (don't ask me why, but I'm loving that chassis) variant, worked up the loadout and jumped into a match... only to realize I hadn't set my weapon groups and ended up doing what I could with everything on one group and got heat saturated ASAP... death soon followed.

So my question is: how do you quickly set/reset your weapon groups *during* a match in progress?

You can choose weapons via keyboard arrows, (enter and backspace??) you can check that in keyboard settings
This is also likely explained in tutorial i think.

To change weapons in groups during a match

Use the keyboard arrows to put the curser on the weapon ang group you want,

press the right control or ctrl to add or remove a weapon from a group,

use backspace to set the currently selected group to chain fire

Thanks, noted now (and yes, prob something I just missed in training)... felt bad to let the team down, although I still did 275damage, spotting and a couple assists before going ka-blewie ;)

So sorry for all the questions this week.
I notice posts where people appear to coordinate play times, or messages like "if you're on now, I'll drop in and help you..."

Is there someplace in the game you can do that? I know CW is best played with organized teams and groups; I tend to hang out in the solo drops and random maps and it just seems to be total luck if I see one of you or a name I recognize... and along that same thinking, what's the best way other than trying to solo in CW to find a solid group or team you can support and learn from?

Use the "looking for group" function, under the social button (picture of 3 people head and shoulders, bottom, right of center in Mechlab)
Otherwise look for a unit in the community warfare section of the forums.

Do mechlab & smurfy take quirks into account when computing heat efficieny?

Smurfy does not. Tested it.

Related note: Does Awemech (mechlab app for Android phones) include quirks in its heat efficiency calculations yet?

Can near-misses with gauss cause screenshake? I was on tourmaline today when a Zeus shot (at?) me with a gauss, and the sound effect and screenshake played, but I didn't receive any damage. I thought gauss hitreg was usually pretty good, so did the server just get confused or something, or is this working as intended?

Could the Gauss have been fired from past max range?

Many times on Alpine I have been "hit" by a (ER)PPC I got screen shake and it seemed like it had hit but then I focused o. It's source and saw a Mech 2+KM away, and I suffered no damage, I think that may be a case of the shell hits you past max range, but because it does hit you still get screen shake but no damage

Gauss has a really long max range, so I think that might be unlikely. It might be possible that the client renders effects like screenshake and sound effects, but in reality, the shot didn't hit you server side. Explosions when you fire, used to be rendered client side and display even if you actually missed which people thought was a hitreg error but it was actually server-client lag.
I believe projectiles themselves are still rendered client side so your bullet could appear to go through a mech, if the lag is affecting you.
