And an SSRM is 2.5. An SSRM2 does 5 total. And they register. They're a little too awesome right now.

Yes but you can't aim them and they are affected by electronic warfare.

Add in that they - require - lock, and they can be as much a detriment as a boon. Even with p1ss poor hit detection, I still prefer srm4/6's just for the phsych warfare. Guaranteed 6-12 missiles coming at you, even if they don't hit, will usually make a target look for cover or help.

Guess I shouldn't have editorialized :D, I just thought they were missing from your damage list. This doesn't seem like the thread for an extended discussion of pros and cons of missile types, though.

It's your Cadet bonus, you will have 25 matches with an additional bonus. If possible (haven't done to many), then get your one day free premium time after downloading (should be a little ad box on the bottom with the notice for one day free, turn off ad blockers.) Then use it with your Cadet bonus and you can then have a large sum of money for your mechs.

Edit: 100,000 if you win. Usually closer to 50,000 per loss, 25,000 if you lose extremely badly (pugstomp against your team.)

To reiterate the advice you were already given:

For your first 25 matches you get a bonus per match caled a "Cadet Bonus" (this is listed on your match earnings page at the end of each match)

To maximize this free bonus, you should combine it with the +1 free day of Premium Time every player can collect.
  • Visit the download page
  • Click the download button (doesn't matter if you have already downloaded it previously)
  • Examine the bottom of the page for several new images (if you use script blockers you may need to turn them off for a minute or you may need to update java)
  • The one on the left will grant one day of premium time to your account
  • Login to the game and hit the Activate button down on the bottom of the mechlab
  • Play a bunch of games over the next 24 hours to get bonus

SAVE THAT CADET BONUS for your first mech. Do not experiment with it and spend it piecemeal

Hello everybody!

Here is my Question for today:

Q: Which is the Sequence of using Ammo in a Mech?

Explanation:
I do have a Hawk SHD-2D2 which is sporting 4 SSRM and 2 Large Lasers and a 250 Std. Engine. Since so many People are storing their Ammo in the Legs I surely want to store it somewhere else. My thought is to store 3 Tons in the right Torso protected with a CASE and to store 1 Ton of "Spare Ammo" in the Center Torso. The Main Thought is if the right Torso is destroyed I do not need so many Ammo anyways... and for "Zombie-Purposes" e.g. the SSRM in the Head and Center Torso 1 Ton of Ammo must be sufficent. But this Thought is rather pointless if the "Center-Ammo" e.g. the "Spare-Ammo" is used up first. So is there someway to tell which Ammo to use first? I think this would really make Sense in a Military Vehicle which is supposed to be designed with efficiency in Mind.

Thanks in Advance and greetings from grey and rainy Berlin!
Robert

edit: Rechtschreibung ;-)

A: The sequence is: HD-CT-RST-LST-LA-RA-LL-RL

This and many other helpful answers (some to questions you might not have thought to ask) are in Wadde's Beginner's Guide, pinned in this section.

You'd be surprised how simple yet complex this answer is.

This is generally true, but early on Zhizhu has come to notice (during the repair and rearm days with no free ammo) and later on through the display showing ammo consumption (found within the mech) that some mechs draw from the left sides first. Some draw from the right sides first. It always goes head, CT. From there it varies but generally left, right, left, right, left, right. There are some mechs (oddly enough all of the current exceptions to the L/R rule are among the meta mechs) which go Right Torso, Left Torso, left arm, right arm.

This is virtually unknown because, well, seriously who puts ammo in the arms of a Hunch aside from me? But the Hunchback 4J draws right arm first and then left. It draws right torso then left.

But the other Hunchbacks draws left torso first, then right contrary to ammo feeding logic. I assume that this is because so long as ammo is buffering the right torso crit damage it helps protect the gun.

To learn for yourself, load a ton of very easy to consume ammo into each body part in the testing grounds. Watch the ammo display once you tap into each ammo ton. An AC/20 is easy for this. Once you fire 1 shot, check the display for the ammo consumed. After that, fire 7 shots. Check the display. A new ton is missing 1 round of ammo. Fire 7 shots, check the display. Repeat until done.

The display in question looks like this. Using Left CTRL you can hunt for it in your cockpit. (Note: Hunchback variants and two of the Centurions [one no longer available, rest in peace AH] are the most known to have different ammo feeds; a nice touch that isn't as common on newer mechs).

(Psst. You can edit quotes to only reference part of it. Do try things out and if you're on hop on Zhizhu's teamspeak 'cause I'm tinkering with new designs.) :)

I'm obviously new, but I only need to know ONE thing: When you are killed in action, does that mech expire, or do you still have it?

You still own/have access to it, but can't use it again until that game is over.

NP. :D Has someone told you about your free day of Premium Time and your Cadet Bonus and how those interact? If not, stop playing now and figure that out before you lose out on a few million c-bills that will be very precious to you shortly.

Redshift's post linked here (or simply on the previous page) tells you how to get that premium time clicky thing in.

O-O oh...well, I don't even actually have the game downloaded. I'm trting to get a compatible PC for it. It just looked so cool I had to get it in advance so I wouldn't need to take the extra time. But now...I feel like I'm screwed...xD

Not sure I follow, but if your PC allows, you get a free day of Premium Time when you start (+50% XP and C-bills) as well as a huge "Cadet Bonus" (8MM C-bills ish) over your first 25 matches. PT does multiply this, so it's wise to activate that PT and play your first 25 matches in 24 hours. No matter how bad you play, this will position you to buy one very good and well equipped Medium or Heavy mech.
