Max Engine Rating is 350, except 4X has a limit of 255.

If you can reach that limit with a STD Engine depends on the loadout you want to have.

But, for example, the 0XP with 4 ML, 1 x AC20, 4 tons opf ammo and ECM, Ferro-Armor, Endo-Steel, can fit a STD 320 with two double heatsinks.

Edit: ninjad too, but my post has much more useless info!

Actually, I think you bring up a good point; I had only thought of what the actual max engine possible would be, but ignored what kind of weaponry you'd actually be able to bring with it. I think between 300 and 325 is where you'd have wanted to be before the skill tree, to keep a uniform speed from the other 70 ton mechs that IS tends to bring (Warhammers, Grasshoppers), but post-skill tree patch might be more conducive to slower mechs, it's hard for me to say just yet.

I was wondering on few things, Cool Run vs Heat Gen on mechs without Heat Sinks and on mechs with very many Heat Sinks. Read on these forums that Cool Run is definitely better in second case, but I'd like someone to verify this.

One more thing.
There is no such thing as a much without heatsinks. The bare minimum is 10. A 250 engine has 10 inside. A 225 has 9 inside and 1 must be added.. A 200 has 8 and you must add 2. Etc.

As far as I know, having had a friend test it before Skill Tree patch, nope.

Only for QuickPlay modes like Conquest and Assault.

Does Capture Accelerator even still exist? It was a module, right? I can't seem to find it in the skill tree anywhere...

basic skills
coolrun was 7.5% heat reduction,
heat containment was 10% heat capacity,
twist x 2.5% twist range,
hard break 7.5% deceleration,
Arm reflex, 2.5% arm movement speed,
twist speed 2.5% torso twist speed,
anchor turn 2.5% turn rate,
kinetic burst 7.5% acceleration

elite skills
speed tweak 7.5% top speed
pinpoint 15% faster weapon convergance, but as weapons convergance was functionaly instant that was pretty much worthless
fast fire 5% weapon recharge/reload rate
quick ignition 33% faster power up
unlock the 4 Elite skills and the basic skills power is doubled

master
1 extra module slot

Quick question about voice chat on the european server. Do the european players have a separate voice chat for their language or server?

Early in the morning (US Mountain time, so GMT-6?) I get games on the european server. Rarely does anyone say anything. I say hello, hoping to get various greetings eg accented English or greetings in foreign languages. No one responds. During the game, almost no one says anything at all. Sometimes somebody responds to me with an Australian accent, but that's all.

I don't expect english, just something. Nobody making comments in French or German. Nothing. It makes me wonder if they have their own voice chat. Do they?

Nope, we don't have a specific voice chat for Europe (I'm in Belgium).

We just have some very surly characters here ... but early in the mornings for you might be the middle of the day here, when most "social" people are at work, leaving only the recluses like me ...

I'm a chatty one, but I'm in the minority :)

games on the EU server do tend to be a bit quieter than on the US server, I will often go several games (in solo queue, group is completely diferant) with no-one responding, but the EU and US servers ingame VOIP does seem to work the same.

Well, in the evenings EU time, we often have some russian/polish/other slavic countries playing while horribly drunk ... then it's not silent, but it's not understandable either !

Not exactly a gameplay question, but should I bother getting the new portal to replace the current patcher (and more importantly to make that bloody warning go away?)

You don't have to... But I probably would. I did, and I haven't regretted it yet. (You can keep the old launcher around as well, just encase.)

What is the biggest standard engine I can put in a Cataphract?

One of the nice things about ui2.0 is you can theorycraft in the mechlab with mechs you don't own. Click the mech in the store, expand the info popup at bottom, and press view in mechlab. You can play around with the loadout and camo as much as you want without buying anything (you can't buy your custom loadout anyway). You can't save it either.

Note: After the big reduction in 2016.
I distinctly remember in 2015, Kinetic Burst was 27.5% before elites and 55% after. Hard brake was 25% before elites and 50% after. I do recall the rest were pretty high too. Except the elites themselves, I do not believe they changed at all between 2015 and 2016 with the big reduction.
