Hello,

My google-fu is weak. Do we know in what order of location are ammo bins used?

eg: CT bins 1st, side torso bins 2nd, ...

Thanks in advance!

Order is dated. Drains from head last, now, which is fine 'cause nobody's ever gonna crit your head enough to matter (you'll die long before then if they actually tried).

I'm not sure what the current order is, but it isn't far off. Look up Karl Berg white courtesy phone and ammo order for the latest developer confirmed one that I know of.

What weapons actually do damage to the base on incursion? I just put over 400dmg of laser alpha into the radar node on incursion and it didn't effing die. (my alpha is 76, shot it 6 times) Is this a glitch or something?! honestly wtf

You can "TARGET" the actual destructible buildings (unless being jammed). This will give you a health percentage and identify exactly what buildings to shoot at.

Tip: They look like things humans can walk into and have stair cases AND wheels/tank tracks.

The other targets are the "Generators" which players put Dr. Mario pills into. Those are the ones by the towers.

OK, I have two semi stupid questions...but I can only remember one atm....

On a 12 MG Piranha, would having 4 of them HMGs, 4 of them being MG and 4 being LMG be helpful in any way?

I've tried it a little. The LMGs are for range and the MGs and HMGs are for close up. I also went with 4 HMGs and 8 LMGs which helps with the crazy ammo problem. I know I totally surprised two other Piranhas, lol.

Ammunition concern either way. MGs and LMGs basically draw from 2000 shot/ton amounts and fire at the same rate.

Issue number 1: Too many heavy MGs; each is half a ton which is too much.
Issue number 2: 12 1/4th ton MGs of any sort is still too heavy...

I've been cutting the number of MGs, and 8 seems to be a good, manageable number.

No. MGs or LMGs, all one type . You don't have much tonnage for ammo and having three disparate ranges is just EWWW.

Not really. You can run 3xERSL (neither arm stripped), 2xHML (one arm stripped) or 1xHML (both arms stripped) with that

dont forget the issue of 3 different types of mg ammo, in half ton lots.

imo, no there is no point in stratifying your mgs. But if you insist, split it between LMG and HMG.

I've found that PIranhas work kinda well with non-MG ballistics, too, in very small doses.

LMGs are 2500/ton.

When you're in mechbay, click "Testing grounds" on left side and select the map you want to use.

Horseman is close. You can get to the FP maps by the Testing Grounds, but it will be a left side tab on the home screen of the game client. You can walk around the maps as much as you like by yourself in the Testing Grounds.

Thank you both.

Is there a list of the names of FP maps somewhere ? That's also one of my problems ... cannot find it if I don't know it's name ...

I bought a couple mech packs, but do not really like or care for all the different mechs in it. Is it better to just go ahead and sell those mechs and free up the bays so I can try different mechs OR just wait till I get more bays?

Avoid selling mechs. It's almost universally a bad idea.
And you can grind free mech bays from Faction Play rewards - you just need 1 medium mech for IS and 1 for Clan and farm loyalty points in Scouting.

You have two choices:
1. You can sell the mechs you have no desire for, freeing up the mechbays.
2. You can keep those mechs, as you did pay for them, try to work with them and see if you may be able to find a build you like on them at some time in the future. (Which also includes the possibility that PGI may buff them later on down the road leaving them more desirable.)

I am of the school of holding mechs that I might like and trying to get them to work. However, I've also sold off many mechs that "just didn't work for me", such as all my battlemasters (except for the (P) variant which I can't sell). I have not regretted that choice, but other mechs I've bought and sold I ended up rebuying.

If they are mechs you can't repurchase at this time, I'd hold onto them. Otherwise, C-bills come and C-bills go. I wouldn't worry too much about the C-bill loss when selling a mech, as you'll eventually get more C-bills again just by playing. (But that's just me.)

AKA: There is no right nor wrong answer here.

EDIT: If you need help with builds for mechs, by all means ask. (Just not here in this thread please.) There are lots of people who are willing to share their builds. Something may catch your eye eventually.

No. But, it does count towards your match score (provided it destroyed missiles not aimed at yourself).

The damage value you see from AMS is towards missiles, as each missile has a specific amount of health. It also is the damage it will cause if the ammo explodes (like normal ammo explosions).

None actually have feasible 250 firepower stats. If it is done, it's normally done by taking a missile mech, small engine, no armor and loads of LRM20 launchers, with maybe a ton of ammo if that is even possible.

So... none. It's a stat max number set to be intentionally impossible to actually achieve maxing it out.

Nice! I completely forgot how much rockets did! Now that I'm IS again, I'll need to play around with my build options more.

By the way, with a bit of tweaking, an engine downgrade an some Heavy PPCs and we've managed an armoured and not too slow 255 damage load out.

Or we can take it up a bit more... to 260...
