Well, most of them looks absolutely terrible (I mean the models itself), but there are a few which looks on specific mech nice.
For ex., knuckle on Atlas, or small hand fuel tanks for Timber.
So
1) do the bolt-ons go sometimes also on discounts ? -50% ?
2) are bolt-ons sometimes part of events ?
thx.

Yes, there was one event for "Quarantine" Hero 'Mechs almost exactly a year ago. Just one challenge I can name off the top of my head ...

I do not think so. However, I think that they are used as a reward in some challenge sometimes.
And of course, there are some cockpit items that are unique because they are connected to just one specific event. I have a few of those.

Those are normally event exclusive or pack exclusive items. Corgi was an event item (much like the Thanksgiving Turkey as another example), and Nvidia was originally an old item from a preorder or something, but is now also an event earnable item.

F is for Founders. You will rarely see these since the chassis they go with aren't "meta" or the variant--Jenner, Hunchback, Catapult, Atlas.
A minor clarification--Trial mechs are based on Champion mechs which themselves are based on a standard variant. Trial mechs earn no XP however. In my opinion, Champion mechs are not worth buying. Save that MC and put it towards a Hero mech instead. The 30% XP boost is only valuable until the mech is skilled up, but 30% cbill boost is far more versatile. And when I'm leveling a mech (which I've only recently had to do because I finally exhausted my GSP from the skill tree refund), I find myself spending far more in cbills than xp.

special versions of the original invasion clan mechs. They were (are?) absurdly expensive and caused a huge outrage as the ridiculous money grab they were. Soon after that PGI parted with the publisher that was trying to push for that.

You can not buy golden 'Mechs anymore because PGI not longer offers them.

No, it was available as a special version of the original first wave of Clan OmniMechs (Uller, Puma, Black Hawk, Ryoken, Madcat, Thor, Masakari, Daishi).
