So I can plan accordingly... when a purchased pack (such as the Marauder) includes modules... are those simply the physical modules? Meaning, do you still need to unlock the pilot skills to equip the modules or do they come with the unlock?

when the Clan Invasion wave 1 pack was released it came with some modules, at the time I had not unlocked any of the included modules and was able to use them all.
I am unsure what happens with weapon modules as I had them all unlocked before getting any weapon modules.

however if you want to purchase more copies of the module you have to unlock first

If I remember correctly, I got a module from a preorder pack and it was unlocked for free. I think it was seismic 1 and I had to pay GXP for the second level of it?

From what I understand, the two are treated as basically the same module, the adv. skill only applying a modifier.

This sounds like a good question for support and hopefully future FAQs for packs.

The Timberwolf is considered one of the best mechs currently in game. However, with that statues, also comes the reputation of being shot at over any other mech in game (besides maybe a Direwolf).

Each are good mechs. The Timberwolf have more flexibility with it's possibility of Jump Jets, but the Ebon Jaguar tends to be a smaller target priority, and considered almost as good.

Really, the Jaguar may be a better new player friendly mech, just because it will get shot at less compared to the Timberwolf. Otherwise, either one would be a decent starter mech.

I know that you can change your House/Clan affiliation in the CW map in the game, as well as it costing an absurb amount of C-Bills to do so (personally, I think that amount to change affiliatesshould at least be halved in terms of C-Bills, since it is so difficult to earn C-Bills in-game, but is there any way you can change your House/Clan affiliation via the forums?

I have had enough of being in House Liao and seriously thinking of affiliating myself with House Kurita or just being a lone wolf / mercenary, but I cannot access the game right now, so that his why I asked if you are able to change your House / Clan affiliation via the forums alone?

Before CW you could do it on the forums but now it's in-game only.

as cleghorn6 said you can only chose faction in game,

if you took a permanent contract or want to end a contract early you have to pay to do so, but if you take a fixed term contract then wait for it to expire changing faction costs nothing, do not take a permanent contract (pledge loyalty) unless you are ether planning to remain with the one faction permanently or are willing to pay to break the contract

Damng it; I know that it costs C-Bills to change your affiliates in-game, but sometimes I wish you still do it on the forums, to the effect it still takes the same amount of C-Bills out from doing it from your account like it does in-game.

Oh well.

Thanks for replying.

no, but it does increase targeting speed.

it increases targeting speed (as in when you get target information) but it does not speed up getting missile locks, I just thought I had better clarify on that.

here is a complete list of what a Clan Targeting computer does

increase zoom distance by between 2.25 (mk1) and 7.5% (mk vii , vii is Roman numerals for 7)
increase sensor range by between 2.25 (mk1) and 7.5% (mk7)
reduce time to get target info by between 22.5% (mk1) and 75% (mk7)
increases the speed of projectile weapons, this means Gauss, Autocannons and PPCs only by between 4.5% (mk1) and 15% (mk7)
increases beam weapon range by between 4.5 (mk1) and 15%(mk7)
increases crit chance for beam and projectile weapons by between 14.5 (mk1) and 25% (mk7)

so the targeting computer does absolutely nothing for missiles

I'm not sure about the Gauss here, as the description (Mechlab and Smurfy) says:
"...AC (except LBX) and PPC..." for speed and range increase, but not Gauss.

Believe I understand this one but to be sure... friend of mine is starting MWO this week. Figure we'll stay in Puglandia for a while.

If we want to drop together in PUG's, we just make a two mech group and there's a way to Quick Play that will place both of us in a drop... correct? (or I could have misread/understood how it all works in non-CW drops)

yes, if you create a group and invite your freind, when you are both in a group click launch and it will average your PSRs and put you in a match based upon that average PSR,

groups of any size drop in the group queue, so you may be playing against better organized people than you usualy do in solo queue
