Vectored jump jets would be a great addition to MWO, I hope they get added one day.

Your "Video Proof" shows a Highlander spending 2 full minutes with it's face pressed into a rock serving no discernible purpose.
I can see it now... teams running in fear from Rock Climbing robots. "Watch out! He'll summit you! He might have Sherpas!"

Well, the video is out. Now it's up to the players to use this tactic or not and up to the developers to decide as to weather this is acceptable or not.

You are such a simple person. Amazing. You must have a wonderfully ignorant life.
Weapons kill things?! WORKING AS INTENDED. Unnerf all weapons.
If you're comparing jumpjets to weapon balance then you really have lost the plot. There are only two ways to go; either have no forward impulse at all which everyone hated so it got changed, or allow some lateral movement which will allow hill climbing regardless of how you do it.
You can climb with jumpjets. Deal with it and move on with your life.

OP just means Over Powered. They are doing more than they should. That's what it is.

LOL again. So simple. I'm glad you're not on the design team.

If a spider could get up on top of some of the higher buildings that are 90 degree vertical then I could see more of a complaint but a hill climb with one jumpjet does not seem to be out of whack with anything I have seen in any MW or BT game.
"Shouldn't be able to" is the devs decision I would imagine and maybe they knew this could be possible.

You're right, I am going to go out the next map and scale the tallest mountain....and sit there, cause I am now the king of the world. Honestly, there are far grander bugs/exploits that need to be looked at. Just because someone was able to run from you, and probably came back and stomped a mud hole in you, does not mean you just found the end of the MWO world, it just means you were out played.

i do think that non JJ mechs should be able to slowly climb any incline though - reduce their speed to 5 or 10kph and let them sllooowwwwlllllyyyyyy go wherever they want like JJ mechs. no mech should ever get stuck anywhere, just pay an appropriate speed price for going up whatever incline

No one "did this" to me. I figured this out on the first day of the change and have been using it to my own advantage ever since. Being in game development myself, and being that I enjoy this game, I decided to share my findings. Most of my mech's have jumpjets. I came in 23rd in the world wide tournament medium class. I have an imgur account with hundreds of games where I got 6+ kills and 750+ dmg. I'm in a competitive merc corp and multiple player run MWO leagues. I have 36 mechs and I've been playing this game for a year now at least. I'm sharing this because I like the game, period.
If PGI wants it to work like this after seeing my video, then it wont be changed.
If PGI didn't realize this was possible (which is probable) then it might get changed.
Your opinion largely doesn't matter. To me at least.
I did my job as a tester (yes I still consider us testers) and posted an exploit which I found in hopes that the game could be made better through providing information that PGI may not have been aware of. So far, I'm being a lot more constructive than you are and am at least contributing something useful, regardless of if it gets changed or not. People should be aware of this exploit so that an opinion can be formed about it.

I would hope you at least like MW:LL's JJ's. :-D You are one of the LL devs are you not?
The way it's up to the pilot to make directional jumps is better in MWLL. You can use JJ thrust from a dead stop, not having to run, to leap forward. As it should imo.
But MWLL JJs could have used some more development as well> The no momentum after landing kinda annoyed me somewhat. It's a complete dead stop when you land, even being reduced to 10-20% speed at landing or something would have felt and looked better.

And yet you think spending several minutes of a limited-time match doing nothing but laboriously climbing a hill is OP?
You sound to me like one of those guys that thinks the best use of an Atlas is to walk around the perimeter of the map and try to solo cap the enemy base, completely ignoring the fact that the game has been long since decided before you even get there.

Anything that provides more efficient functionality than is intended, is by definition "over-powered".

If someone wants to waste two minutes to climb up a mountain instead of fighting, well, don't be surprised or have pity for him if it turns out his team got reamed because he was playing jumpjet-warrior.
