I had some seat time with MW1, but that was someone elses copy, and by the time I could get my own (the MegaHits package, no less), I'd have had to gotten the hang of DOSBox, 'cause MW1 didn't run properly on a 486/33.

I was always bored when we went over there. So my grand mother one day went out and bought some computer games for me to play when I was there. One was commander keen, the other was Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries.
Oh how I LOVED mechwarrior. In fact I BEGGED my mother to go to my grand mothers house so I could play it.
After about a year my parents bought their first home PC. (this was in the mid 90's back when hewlett packard was real big) So yeah they bought a hewlett packard so I asked my grand mother if I could borrow Mechwarrior2. She said I could have it.
Played that thing day and night for a long time until Mechwarrior 3 came out. Bought that played it for awhile too. Mechwarrior 4 came out etc etc etc
And now here I am. 28 years old. Waiting to play MW:O.
EDIT: OH I left out a key part of information. I first played mechwarrior when I was 8 or 9 because my friend had a super nintendo and they regularly rented Mechwarrior on their super nintendo. It was until i was 13 that I was reintroduced to Mechwarrior by my grand mother.

My first game was BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception on my Dads Amiga, and I have played every Mechwarrior and MechCommander game since then (but no MechAssault).
The only Mechwarrior games that I have actually played online were MW3 and MW:LL.

Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries
Pentium 133 mhz laptop (top of the line back then!)
16mb RAM
28.8 kbps
Spent my whole first semester playing MW2:Mercs. Joined a group of guys in Clan Wolf for one of the Leagues that was around back then. Favorite Mech: Summoner, jump jets, all heat sinks and Med. Pulse lasers.
Max players for online play back then was 4 and there still was lag lol. You had to aim far in front of a walking mech to hit it. More lag, more you had to aim ahead. Fun times.

Played all the PC games as they came out. Then the fun started got caught up in MPBT online at Genie.
Got recuited by the Minnesota Tribe and played there till they shut down.
In 1990 I heard a comerical about this place called the Battletech Center. When I went there I didnt want to leave.
Got a part time job there in 95 to help feed the addiction then made my way up to General Manager in late 96.
Saddest day was in july of 97 when VWE shut down the sites, but hope wasn't lost they came back at Dave and Busters.
Then another black day came but with a major silver lining. VWE was no longer having the pods at D&B but the pods were up for sale, so a
group of us Chicago players bought a set and it's been fun ever since.
