They're just not worth it in this situation, however.

An 6 damage overall, at the cost of 90m/180m range, 6 tons, and 39% more heat per second? No thanks.

IMHO, all battlemaster builds basically start with 6 Medium Lasers. You can then remove one/two ML's in return for LPL's (they're essentially 2 ML's for extra tonnage), or look more into ballistics and such.


That's what ER Medium Lasers are to be used for in the future. Pulse Lasers are better on mechs that can get into range, I agree.

I said it before. I repeat myself.

7 ER PPCs. Fired all 7 after overriding 100%, survived. Note to all. DO NOT start back up before you 'rest' a while.

Manual start up = instant death. It's a 30 second wait btw.

Even with override, firing all 7 ER PPCs forces an automatic shutdown.

Mine had max armor, XL 220 engine, and lasts quite a while under direct fire.

Not to mention 27% efficiency according to Smurfy.

Maybe try this? Rely on the ERPPC for sniping and emergency burst damage. (You may want to replace it with a regular PPC, or even an ER Large laser, depending on your tastes and/or preference for using the laser to grab assists ;)).

Use the Mlas for mid-to-close range and just dakka away with the MGs whenever you can.

If you're super lazy and don't mind inefficiency you can also just group the mlas and mgs together and keep in mind that you need to make your approach at some point once you start firing with the MLas (once you reach their max range).

Oh, and maybe you should switch some of the MG ammo with the AMS ammo (in the head). That's not a great place for it, in hindsight. You could even move some ammo to the leg.

Actually I kinda like XL engines in the Battlemaster, both to take advantage of it's potential speed and because it's... "assets"... appear to be largely part of the CT hitbox. That + the huge crotch also counting as CT = may as well take an XL... no?

If nothing else, the BM tends to run hot, so it's good to be able to move out, dish out the pain, and then get to safety.

Looking at it, it seems like 3 weapon groups. But since one group would only have 1 medium laser on it, I'm not sure it's worth it.

I'd have 5 weapon groups for this build. Left and right torsos have their own group. Right arm in one group, AC2s in one group and UAC5 in one group.

Or maybe that's just me, I can have 6 groups bound to my mouse.

Well this was just kindof made, after trying to see how many missiles I could get into the air in a single volley just curious as to what you guys think? Could this be effective or just a c-bill sink?

The buttons above and below the wheel are for changing the DPI.

Edit: I've bound the button marked as 6 to middle wheel and button marked as 5 to "numpad -".

I think you've got to run an XL in these things. Too damn slow otherwise.

Funny, I have a similar mouse but I am too lazy to adjust to using them all- plus, how often are you going to get that much more utility out of more than 3 firing groups? Ammo efficiency concerns come into play, plus you don't want to be role-playing a Battletech Novel style Stalker pilot, do you? DO YOU? ;)? Because then you should be playing in your underwear with a vest on...

That's 2 buttons. Tie UAC/5 and AC/2 together (I do it a lot with AC/2 and LB-10). And another for the ML.

I like to group my weapons to left and right side (hands and torsos), that way I can shoot better around corners without unnecessarily shooting at walls (not to mention heating my mech without reason). At the moment I am using 5 weapon groups at most.
