You're all welcome. I'm rocking a 3.5 K:D

Build notes:

The rule of thumb with this build is that you use the ERppc for sniping only... Fight the temptation to do otherwise. You have lasers for close combat.

Use SRMs for critical chances on stripped mechs and/or for landing sure shots.

Use the Gauss in all situations especially when you're About to overheat. But don't go waisting all your ammunition on random shots. Make the shots you take count.

Use those massive arms to save your side torsos !

Good luck and happy hunting!

Im having alot of success with the BLR so far. Smurfys is giving me an error while trying to save my build currently so ill give the rundown.

BLR-1D = Currently with this variant i am running 3x AC2s (5t ammo) on the left arm, 1 PPC on the right arm, 4 mlas on the torso. Endo and DHS w/ XL350. Max armor to boot.

With this build i only played around 10 games but never went below 500 damage. Having what is basically a dakka jager built onto your arm is insanely effective. Plus the burst close range with the mlas finishes the job nicely.

BLR-1G(P) = This one i put the most time in with yesterday and its scary. 2x AC5s on the left arm, 1 llas on the right arm, 6 mlas on the torso. Endo and DHS w/ XL380. A shade under max armor.

I am in love with this mech. Broke 1k damage first night out and K/D 13-3. It brawls, It pokes and works early mid and late game. There is always an option off cooldown (just remember to manage heat).

IMHO the XL engine is a safe bet with this chassis. I died once all night to side torso. The CT seems to make a cross leaving small targets for the sides, and the giant arms protect from any shots on your flank. Plus after speed tweak my 1G is running 80kph the 1D tops at 74kph. I feel that taking full advantage of the manuverability of this mech is a must. See you guys out there!

Currently running dual AC5's, 7 Med Las, STD 300 engine, and DHS. she is an oven but fun to pilot.

I am giving the -1s a shot at a missle platform. slapped a 300xl in it 2 LRM15's and 2 LRM10's with 1620missles to unload. Artemis, beagle and tag (the tag sits high in the torso but torso twist is slow) and 3 MLas to help with lighs. With some torso twisting these mechs seem reasonably durable and being able to cough 50missles at anyone in one big blurb is kinda fun.

for what it's worth i'm loving the battlemaster. it's usually a grind to me having to level up mechs i don't intend to use but i'm enjoying every single variant.

Hi All,

Can I get some thoughts/feedback on this Bad-Boy?

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...32dfe059d72fa10

1 Free ton and 2 slots....
-Ammo?
-Armour for "shield-arm"?
-An extra MLAS?
-Leave the free ton free for beer and pretzels...

Choices, choices, choices...

Cheers

Not really a fan of the build but I would take a little armor off the shield arm or legs and put an AMS on it.

The Battlemasters are everything (and more) that the Awesomes should have been. Except for the Pretty Baby's max speed, the Battlemasters are literally superior to the Awesomes in every role and function imaginable.

So after a few days of playing with my BM I have only a deeper love for it. Still using the build i posted earlier and still not having a single issue running XL. Allowing the BM to carry a very powerful loadout while still having ridiculous speed considering its a 85 ton assault. That CT is just massive and eats alot of the damage that gets past the arms. I feel this mech fills the role of fast assault you can split of and run with a flank pack. Between this mech and the Victor you have some great meat shield options to cover your mediums. The difference being preference of gameplay. The Victor gets the added mobility advantage with jump jets, while the BM trades that out for a slightly more potent loadout. Also the variants are all laid out to handle multiple play styles and all carry strong loadouts in the current weapon meta. I have all 3 currently mastered (MC conversion :)) and the mobility acquired is icing on the cake really. So now we have 2 options for the roles of frontline meat (Highlander and Atlas) and fast flanking tanks (Victor and BM). Both roles having an option of extra mobility (Victor and Highlander) or bigger loadout (Atlas and BM). Not at all putting the Stalker in the "no reason for you to be out here" with the Awesomes. The Stalker is that unique role of meaty support fire assault. Only played 30 or so matches this week (damn work) but im sure i will play 50 more over the weekend. However, I dont believe I need anymore time to be sold on the chassis.

TL:DR Poor Awesomes <_<

Been running close to the same on mine - only without the SRM rack and a bigger engine/more heat sinks. It's not flashy, but it works well. The PPC/gauss combo gives you the firepower you need on bad angles, and the six MLs will melt down anything that gets close. Very solid and fun mech. Kinda like having an 85-ton Boar's Head where the XL gives enough of an advantage to make worthwhile...

I reckon you'd be better overall dropping the srm and using that weight to go up to a 380XL! More mobility, less buttons to remember.

As with others, I'd strip the SRM6 out. It's hot, and the only thing on the mech that's not pinpoint. With those 6 mediums, adding an SRM rack just means you're firing the mediums less often, and doesn't add anything for actual combat ability.

instead, pull them off, move up to a XL375 and add a DHS: BLR-1G More cooling = better damage output. Actually, I'd trim a little more armor and add a second additional DHS: BLR-1G

I have to say I'm loving the BLR, all variants as well.

1S - 15 + 10 LRM in the torso for some long range barrage followed by 3x MLs and 2x 6SRMs in the arms for pinpoint brawling.
1D - 2x AC5s, LL, 4x MLs
1G - AC2, LL, 6x MLs

All variants you have to watch heat but it's not to bad, rarely overheat and always pump out top end damage. The ML alphas are great killing blows.

The 1S as an LRM50 is deadly with artemis and TAG. You can still stack 3 MLs and tons of ammo in it with an XL300 and no Endo, or and XL330 with Endo.

Initially, I didn't like the 1G(P). I felt it just lacked punch. Sure, I could plink enemies to rack up good damage numbers, but never really felt like I could finish people. Forget 1v1 situations.

Then I decided to stop trying to use all of the hard points. I dropped the 6 MLs for 2 PPCs, put an LPL in one arm, and an AC/5-AC/2 combo in the other. Totally different mech now. Still not my favorite Assault, but it's serviceable.
