12mans are going to be the min/max section of the community for the most part (nothing wrong with that in my opinion)
I don't have to worry about it since I don't play 12mans
You don't have to worry about unless you play 12 mans
The vast majority of the population never has to worry about it because they don't play 12 mans
Most of the threads like this and other balancing, nerf, op, etc. threads are from the 12 man community
You simply cannot balance the community for a small (judging by the threads I've seen VERY small) portion of the community.
If 12vs12 will be balanced, so will be even more balanced for normal pugs. If this game want to develop, must go in to esport zone and that is competitive 12vs12.
12vs12 just show closer whare the balance is brocken. 8 popdarting highlanders in every 12s match must show you something. Besides its making game boring.

LOL...I see what you did there.

More than a few fixes came from very uneducated tears of players like yourself. There's a reason they cut back on the shake and made it so pop tarting is still possible, but upped the skill ceiling a bit.
Very true...the only people who are really affected by the 'nerfs' are the baddies who cried for the nerf in the first place. Ironic isn't it.

Just out of curiosity.....what IS your idea of a balanced build?....2 ppcs and 2 ac-5s would be considered balanced (IMO) because it can hit at a wide variety of ranges...having JJs would add to it's maneuverability....I personally hate the ppc(crappy long range AND min range, blech), .....so I don't use that set up............what are claiming IS "balanced?"

Probably used "balanced" interchangeably with "well rounded". I'd like to see "well rounded" builds be viable, i.e. an LRM15, a PPC, some ML's, and some mg's... something like that, where you can do damage at standoff range, then the target moves into ppc range, then ml range, then you can face smash with some machineguns. Unfortunately the way the game is, such a build will get destroyed pretty quickly if you're up against decent players :| sad.

I don't buy that with equally skilled players, an entirely direct damage build will have an advantage against a build that doesn't even need to expose itself to fire.....especially if that direct damage build is using ppcs.....there IS a reason we also have a missile QQ crowd as well.

I now ~insist~ the next thread on this subject be titled, "Son of Poptart".
Somehow reminded me of Romero's Living Dead trilogy... Especially "Dawn of the Poptarts"

I agree but you're backwards in my opinion. It's like saying we're going to balance the economy based on the top 2% of wage earners. If the majority of the population doesn't see an imbalance but the top 2% does that means, to me, that it's pretty well balanced

Trying to cover for Roadbeer?
nah, I could never do that.
here's a neat piece of info for the rest of the community though...
Roadbeer and I? Based on what I've read, we disagree on a few things. We still get along on here pretty well because we understand that jsut because we hold opinions doesn't mean anyone else is wrong even though we don't agree.

Also gauss should have a minimum range, as much as I love the weapon.
They are never really done, just waiting behind the next hill.
Please no more clunky weapon behaviors No more strange mechanisms to govern player behaviors in game.
We can fight it out in game.

Time to get rid of all the guns/lasers/missiles, add knockdowns back in and we'll all just play bumper mechs.
Its the only way to be sure.

I guess since I do not play in these super competitive brackets I don't see much poptarting when I play. Of course if they do it is real simple. Wait.. watch them jump up.. blast with two ERPPCs .. wash.. rinse .. repeat.
Seriously.. it is not all that hard..
