The new hitboxes guarantee that every round ends with a side torso XL death.

Without XL the Awesome is down to Quickdraw level firepower.

Quickdraws can fly.

I've seen more Awesomes, and always lament the fact when they're on my team. Why would I want an Awesome on my team when I could have a Victor? Or a Highlander? Or a D-DC? Or a Stalker? Or even a non ECM Atlas?

The poor Mech wasn't the greatest before the heat changes, all it does now is remain an eye-sore on the battlefield for a little bit longer.

Everything the Awesome does, other Assaults do better... Other than sucking. The Awesome is definitely quite good at that.

Seriously folks, don't run that chassis. Please.

Fair enough... however we have taken one problem - "the mech is too wide" and unsolved it by making the side torsos larger. If the goal of the hitbox adjustment was to make the mech more viable, then I don't think that goal was reached. It would have been far more effective to make the shoulder armor plates part of the arms than to stretch out the torso sections with the least amount of armor on them.

Yes PLEASE STOP the variety! Everytime I see a mech that isnt the best in its weight class I wanna break my keyboard, we all need to run victors, highlanders, and occasionally "GASP" a non ECM atlas! lol

That would make Awesomes way too durable. Those 'shoulder arms' would make the mech almost immune to LRMs, as well as any one firing down on them from an elevated position. I liked Carrioncrows's idea too, until these things were pointed out to me.

I was in a game with an idiot(seriously PGI, you censor even this?) who equipped his Cicada with 2 AC20s, and then sat on our base. At the end of the game, it was him vs 3 other Mechs. He killed the first one to find him and then was obliterated by the others who now knew where he was, what he was, the fact that he had no armour anywhere on his Mech and had a top speed of approximately 40kph.

Previous to this I called him out on the uselessness of his Mech design, and he told me "what business is it of yours what Mech I run?". Well, it IS my business, because YOU are running a useless Mech and have cost the other 11 players on your team the game!

This is an extreme example, but it is applicable to the Awesome. Sure, you can bring a crappy chassis to a game, but your team mates certainly have the right to be annoyed by your seeming naivety (or arrogance) and willingness to basically be a detriment to the team.

The Awesome is my favourite chassis and the Pretty Baby is my favourite Mech in the game maintaing its 3 - 1 KDR. But I rarely, if ever run it anymore, because I understand that I would be ******* off my team if I took it and then got my face caved in by snipers and Jenners. That's not to say that I don't occasionally run troll builds for kicks, the 9M is great for running The Rainbow Build, but when I then inevitably get reduced to a pile of rubble and people call me out on my stupidity, I have no recourse.

There is plenty of variety in this game; there are decent Mech builds across a broad selection of Chassis. There are also really, really bad Mechs. By all means experiment, but do use a little common sense.

I like this guy! Trying odd tactics and builds instead of giving in to the current meta. Although I imagine it takes some patience to sit at base the whole match.

As for debating the shoulder arm hit box being increased or not, there's a loooooooooong way to go before the Awesome is OP.The Awesome is my second favourite 'mech to play (the Dragon is first believe it or not), and they need to be more durable in my opinion, Centurion durable.

Ya I have played with that same AC40 cicada guy. I stole the kills of every mech that came to our base lol. If you are maintaining a 3.0 KDR in a PB then why would you say it is a handicap?? If you can do it chances are so can some other players.

Seriously? GTF over yourself. He doesn't have an obligation to build his mech a certain way for you. The only obligation he has is to try to play his best with what he's got to help the team win. If he wants to try some off-beat build, that's his prerogative. If it ended up being 3 on 1, where were you? Dead, obviously, along with the other 10 team members, which indicates the loss is as much their fault as the last guy standing.

Even if this guy had a RickySpanish approved build, do you think he would have been able to win the match? Likely not with it being 3 on 1. But hey, don't let reality pop your bubble of self importance!.... so many pompous clowns on here; unbelievable.

While I find it flattering that you think I somehow invented the current meta ("rickyspanish approved build"), I assure you I'm not the sole person to discover how a fat torso, slow speed and lack of jump jets and ballistics on an Assault is a severe handicap.
