No offense but I can't see at all how a 90kph Locust with LRM's gives you good scores AT ALL unless you're playing in some extremely extremely low ELO tier where no one can hit a 90kph Locust considering they die in one hit to any ballistic over 10~15.

And to everyone questioning why, isn't it obvious? If it was just a regular Jenner only with 4 missiles it would be overpowered, assuming they ever get around to fixing missiles, it would easy stomp out every other light, adding JJ's only makes it worse. As it is now, it's still a little ridiculous imho but at least it has enough drawbacks to drag it down enough so that it isn't going to go around streaking every other light to death easily.

I don't know, but all I know is it's results when compared to my other Locusts.

My 3S stats from another thread: http://mwomercs.com/...oy/page__st__20
42 matches, 19 wins, 23 losses, 13 kills, 32 deaths, 4,253 damage, 101 damage per match.

My stats for the 3S as of today, this moment:
48 matches, 20 wins, 26 losses, 14 kills, 36 deaths, 5,108 damage total, 106 damage per match.

In the 6 additional matches, this would be my score.
6 matches, 1 win, 3 losses (what?), 1 kill, 4 deaths, 855 damage total, 142.5 damage per match. (Wont let me unbold this...)

A common state of damage for this mech seems to follow along this point before I finally die (or in this case, win and live):

I don't know what it is, but my slow locust seems to be able to take a lot more firepower, where as my fast locusts seem to drop in a single hit. It really is like no one can hit a slow locust... I don't get it myself but I'm not going to argue about the results...

I would also like to add, since I picked up this custom, I've been seeing my stats for the Locust 3M actually improve. It's become my favorite Locust custom to play with right now. And, it seems to always earn more c-bills and experience than my other Locusts. Maybe I just know how to handle slower lights? (I have a Cicada 3C set up like a Hollander 3, and it only goes 80-90ish KPH as well...)

I think a lot of fast Locusts succumb to Fragile Leg Syndrome. My legs are usually yellow or orange just from running through the map. I once got legged bumping into a friendly during a heated brawl.

Maybe slowing it down helps?

Golden Boy's got 3 energy, 5 missiles.

Oxide's got 4 missiles, and 2 of them are limited to center torso. I want my AC/2 Jenner from MWTactics.

It does. Back in closed beta, the many bumps and rocks in the road would cause anything going faster than 90 kph to trip and fall. Later, with knockdowns removed, damage for running too fast in them. Later, damage removed for that. But some maps have some areas like that, still, and like Nehk here said, you launch into the air off of tiny hills.

Tip: If you are falling, hit X or full stop before you land. It'll significantly reduce the damage potential of any fall under 40 meters.

Yeah. My comment was meant to indicate how indefensible Oxide is, not to say you were wrong.

I have tried to convince myself Oxide can be made into anything useful. I've failed. Think I'll buy 8 Mechbays instead.

Considering the price of the Death's Knell when on sale, I might pick up an Oxide when it comes for sale. Kind of curious as to how jenner-arm missile pods would look.

17,000 MC, and nothing to spend it on til Friday. Hoping for some Shadow Hawk or universal camo sales.

I've noticed something though. No Oxide I've seen so far has an AMS. Does it not have an AMS slot?

It does have an AMS slot, if you trust the patch notes. Also, a SRM4x4 Jenner going 152 could be quite...refreshing. If only it was availabe for C-Bills.

Smurfy's got the patch in. It has AMS.

These people need to put AMS in their Oxides! My streaks are ripping them to shreads and I'm in my Victor 9S with 3 streaks, LB-10/AC5 2 ML combo.

I don't think it'd have enough weight on it to have any endurance as cheese.
Bap = 1.5.
AMS, 1.5 (AMS + ammo).
Streaks 9 tons.
Ammo: 3 tons min?
XL 300 15.5 tons.
Endo -- 2 tons by itself.
Max armor - 7.4 tons if standard; 6.6 tons if ferro.

What do you sacrifice from the essentials here to run it? Because I didn't get through the list before going past 35 tons.

Easy enough to theorycraft on smurfy's; a SRM-6 weighs the same as two SSRM-2. Either you go with about half max armour or you drop to a XL255 (and 129.8 kph with ST).

Either way I don't expect a 6 streak Oxide to live very long.

It could sit on the sideline and reminisce with the 6 MG Spider about all the horrible things they had done to the backs of the Atlases ;)

lock arms to torso and leg hump an assault with 4 SRM4. I know quite a few trolls who will enjoy running that.

Change its hardpoints to the LCT-3S's and it's pretty solid. As it is, dangit, stjobe, you were right. DOA.
