Cookie cutter JJ-PPC builds and Dual AC/20 Jagers?
MWO has really lost a lot of what made this game fun.
Time to go camp a ridge and jump up and down while shooting icecones at people.
GG... or is it?

And AC20/PPC Highlanders, haven't seen a thread about one of those before.

Wait, what?
According to these forums, the new Gauss mechanic makes the weapon system unplayable. Obviously you are a deluded, deranged individual who is hallucinating the "Gaussmechs"

Because they have no ballistic slot. You need 2 PPCs and an AC to get the 30+ point alphas that make HGNs, VTRs, STK-M, CTFs, etc. so good.

Better to be nice to the new guys and try to explain it rather than ridicule them. I know several here like beating up on anyone they can target so they can consider themselves great forum warriors. Give it a rest, there will be no memorial built for internet bullies I assure you,.

To be fair, my PPC poptart quickdraw is the only dangerous configuration I can find... the 2LL 4ML config is OK...
Honestly I see PPCs and ACs as being fairly balanced right now
The only weapons that are really subpar are SRMs and Pulse laser, standard lasers could just use a ghost heat removal\reduction\adjustment

I had a post in the CB forum somewhere that mimicked what I told all my wife's friends on first meeting them.

I didn't say it is too much damage, I just explained why QKDs are inferior. Being able to aim and have your shots go exactly where you aim with perfect convergence from weapons that do all their damage at once is way more powerful than firing the same weapons in TT and hitting three different spots, though, so I don't know why you would even bring that up.
I am not pro or anti poptart, those are just the facts. Any mech that is heavy enough to carry 2 PPCs and 1 or more AC with jump jets is just better than a mech that can't do those things.

I understand the dislike of Convergence, I do, but 30 damage vs our armor here is nothing I am not used to from TT. Its not in the how the damage is delivered to me its the amount. 40 damage is the same level of pain a single AC20 did on TT. you only need twice as much weapons to get the old standard of damage, 2 PPCs to hurt as bad as one.
Relax the pin point damage and less folks would complain about 30 point alphas!

Ummm, the STK-M can't jump nor carry 2 x AC20...
P.S. There is also a Rule, although vague and often hard to interpret properly, but it states:
"You are allowed to return Fire ffs!"

30 damage is enough to blow off components on most light mechs and remove rear torso armor from almost any mech. Mastering Locusts was not fun, trust me. At first it was kind of a fun challenge, then it was just soul crushing after losing a torso or leg to one shot for the 50th time. Against an Atlas, yeah, 30 points isn't goung to ruin your day, but in a ligh or medium it can really hurt. Having a Locust lose a leg to one shot is not a big deal if you have 10 other mechs on the table, but it sucks when you only get one mech per match.
I've been a proponent of a cone of fire solution for sometime, but I think we are just stuck with what we have, which is a shame since it is a problem that could be mitigated in a number of ways.
