Bit harsh to say that..I mean for starters, do you know the circumstance of the pricing decision? Do you know for a fact it was Paul who made it, and not something decided by upper management and he was tasked with publishing it?
Secondly "meh" at the coders? Do you know what schedule they have on their hands in order to accommodate changes, demanded by the publisher? I've been in a publisher role before in the game industry, and I know that we (publishers) tend to change our minds a lot about things, especially if we get a "cool" idea about what the game should and should not be doing (believe you me, publishers can (not "will") get notoriously giddy about throwing in their random ideas that sound awesome to them at the time - in the most classic case of "ooooh I just saw this cool idea that another game had, we should do the same!

Meetings are had where hands are thrown into the air and genuine looks of incomprehension, grumblings are done in the corners, and rant-filled smoke breaks are had all around - but you move on and try to make ends meet. After all, the publisher is paying your salary for the most part.
In the case of the publisher I worked for, it brought a situation from bad to worse, and so the game never made it past open beta unfortunately - and I'd say that half the fault (at least!) was ours.
I'm not saying you should excuse everything, but I do know from first hand experience that the developers tend to do the best they can, with what they have, and despite what you see, they tend to be very talented and passionate people with a dream and care for their game, often rivalling even the most veteran player of their game..many hours of sleep are lost, weekends are lost, vacations are postponed, sanities are tested and so on. I don't mean to make this sound like "oh boo hoo, the devs have it so hard! how dare you!" sort of speech..but really, I'd wager, with a semi-degree of certainty, that things are a lot more complicated than you think.
Having said that, I still agree that the prices are too high

Actually I know quite well how the Publisher/Developer relationship works. I know how the Publisher is usually to blame for a lot of issues, but in this case I think a lot of the issues start with the DEVs. First of all it would simply take the DEVs communicating to us a little more clearly what is going on. Secondly it would take them NOT promising us stuff last summer when they HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED WORKING ON YET. Third, they don't even know how to use the freaking game engine properly, and haven't even hired anyone that does. Fourth, they need to STOP LIEING TO US about things like CW, Clans, 3rd Person View, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc... Fifth, they need to STOP RIPPING US OFF with these high *** prices. If they were smart they would LOWER their prices so more people could afford them. I could keep going on, and on, and on, and on...

I have spoken highly of the games on the blogs I frequent, but this turn of events, prevents me from doing so any longer. Your inability to deliver Community Warfare is turning this game into a grind with no purpose and I cannot in good faith recommend it to my friends.
Get off your ***** and get the CW into the mix or pay the consequences.

You are on an island there.
They didn't even announce how clan mechs will influence the game, but grab out for our money. Thats kind of not nice...
It is also exteremly overpriced...

Things a lot more complicated??? Do you even realized how many empty promises they made? Do you even realized that they don't listen to THE COMMUNITY at all?? Do you even realized that they don't even BOTHER to reply us in the forum?
I have to be honest and say that I do not know the full range of promises that haven't been kept.
As for not listening to the community, I don't know either way for a fact, BUT, I do know that in all likelihood, some amount of people from PGI and IGP read the forums. As for not listening, well..this flows, from my experience, together with your complaint about "never replying", because usually it is considered a lot safer and less risky to not say anything at all. People hang on your every word, and so the only way to maintain just some level of ambiguity, in regards to direction and decisions, is to simply stay quiet.
Incidentally, this also because, as I said in my previous post, new decisions are made all the time..and if you keep announcing all of these as they come in, without having the full context of what was said and why, you're likely to have an even BIGGER storm on your hands.
I personally think there is room for evolution on this front though, given how the level information-flow these days are a LOT higher than they used to be. That's just my opinion though.

I agree with most of you, these 'Mechs look great, and I am budding to get my hands on a Masakari/Warhawk.
BUT
I am very anxious about the development about the core game - where is all this injected cash going to?
Where are my private matches?
Where is Community Warfare?
Why do we HAVE to play 12 player matches? (I enjoyed myself much more in 8 man matches)
WHERE ARE THE DIFFERENT GAME MODES?
These are all things that i would rather see than some more new chassis.
A fresh chassis does change the game a little, but I am sick of the old rinse and repeat: 'Oh lets go to the middle of the map and shoot our lasers at each other and see who comes out the other side' and 'make sure we team up otherwise we shall lose' OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
I would like to see new things happen with the game, with fresh game modes, allowing different exploration of the beautiful maps you have designed, allowing different tactics and techniques aside from "optimal mech builds" - (sigh)
I've forked out a few biscuits for this one, and i can see most of you have here too, and it would be nice to see some new features put into the game aside from shiny baubles that can shoot lasers.
In short - I dont want more 'Mechs (as much as i love old mate masakari, im happy to wait for him)
I WANT MORE GAME PLEASE.
(stop selling cockpit items too - the concept confuses and infuriates me)

Part Mech, part Transformer, part Go-Bot.

And I have to say, the gold mechs are a big psychological dealbreaker for me. In the past, completionism has been a possibility, and I'll admit I'm a sucker for that. But this time, if I wanted it all (masakari collection and all gold mechs), I'd have to dish out 4240 dollars. I may be a fool, but I'm not out of my mind. The realisation that I can't get it all makes me not want to get any of it.
Sadly, there's lots of stuff that I really really wanted, but I'm not buying this.

NO.
Stop trying to push content we don't need yet. YOU STILL HAVE GHOST HEAT!!!!
We don't even have UI 2.0 and you are selling this pack already!?!?
NOTHING has changed since Project Phoenix.
You want us to support your un-betatested completely unbalanced mechs? GIVE US CONTENT.
Give us game types, community events, and a decent mech interface.
This is also the MOST EXPENSIVE THING I HAVE EVER SEEN.
This tells me you really don't care. Why are these not rewards? Why can't we have tournaments to win gold mechs?
I know that I want fixes, gameplay and a working interface and for Community warfare to not be some generic grind fest.
This is FAR to soon and I'm not buying it.
Level with your people PGI/IGP and start being honest about the state of the game, how many people are playing, how much money your making and if you are in danger TELL THE COMMUNITY.

The problem is the only content PGI ever seems to release is redundant content. All were paying for is new mechs that are slight variations of old mechs. PGI has made little or no effort to make sure that each and every mech has its own unique playstyle. Instead we have this bland hardpoint system with little variation and this bland skill system where every mech has the same exact skills. No one wants to pay $30 a mech when every mech is practically the same.

That remains to be seen. We have no word on Clantech other then "it will be a different experience".
And thinking of it, driving a Timberwolf that is no omni with IS weapons and equipment is a somewhat different experience...

Who said they havent been working on stuff? UI2.0 Is juts about done, and CW phase 1 will be shortly there after. Realize how hard it is to develop/publish content, stop trolling and get over your self, nacissist.

No one is forcing you to buys packages, obviously. This is a F2P game but you still chose to buy the packages. Would you like to try again?

Cant you see all the negative posts at this thread? This is the reason why we need PGI response on this thread with the transparency clarity of what's going on with this game and what is the reason for a $500 GOLD package!

And I wont be buying a package. Thats the loss of a potential sale. Simply because PGI couldnt sell me a product I wanted to buy. Thats what we call fail marketing.
I love this game, I want to support this game, but im not going to buy redundant content. If PGI wants me to spend money on their game they need to stop trying to get me to pay in circles. Change the hardpoint and skill systems so every mech is a completely different play experience. Then maybe ill consider paying money for new mechs...
