Well if that is the way they want to invest their money then let them. I am just saying someone ELSE could be in financial trouble for buying at least one of these mechs but then they are technically throwing a tantrum but its one worth having. Also no I am not one of these people I just don't care for a gold colored mech I like silver! Gold is so overrated...

You find value in defending every awful decision PGI makes since the beginning. However, someone ELSE might feel like warning others of poor choices is the responsible thing to do.

It would probably sell more then the rare 1500$ Purchase to buy 3 Golden Mechs over the more appealing 8 Gold Mechs at 500$

They would be easy to spot and some dudes go as far as Friendly fire

( Probably: Friendly fire is never tolerated regardless of mech and it is ban worthy)
Regardless a 'potshot' friendly fire hit probably wont get the other guy banned

I have never said that anyone should TK a Gold Mech. Ever. That will just get you banned. I do however suggest not supporting them in any way and to just use them as human shields. No rules violations in there. The way I look at it is if they want to stand out that badly they might as well just paint a big red bulls eye on their mech. They are going to get really tired of being the prime target in every match. They better hope that "unique module slot" grants them a cloak of invisibility or something. They are going to need it.

I would argue that if they put themselves in financial difficulties because of any video game - they have earned the infantile stamp.
By putting themselves in financial difficulties due to a game (or any optional form of entertainment) then they have forfeited the right to throw a fit about it.

I could buy the whole slew of gold mechs if i felt like it.hell,i've already spent over $700 on star citizen and it isnt even out yet!
You know why? Because the sc devs are obviously passionate about making a great product.they interact with the community in an open and honest manner.if they screw up,they say so.if something will be delayed,they say why and how long.they actually take community ideas into consideration.Every time I read a letter from Chris Roberts,I actually feel like it came from his fingertips and that he was letting it come straight from his heart and mind,instead of running it through some stupid PR filter and turning it into some flimsy non-apology "Everything is great!" bull spew.this is why i give them money,to support doing things the right way.

I honestly don't have a problem with $500 gold mechs.every f2p game has that big whale hook item.it's not about the money.it's about the mindset.

At this point,anyone buying a gold mech is doing a terrible dis-service to not only battletech/mechwarrior fans,but the entire gaming community as a whole.they are saying "hey pgi,go ahead and keep doing what you are doing! Continue to waffle on timeframes and not deliver actual core content.you are doing great!"

Anyone buying a gold mech is supporting bad dev behavior,telling them they can do as little actual work as possible and still make loads of money.

Anyone buying a gold mech after pgi's past performance is supporting everything that's wrong with the gaming industry right now.

That's why i dislike gold mech buyers.

TBH it's stupid to give money to one of a chain of what appear to be shell companies with legal proceedings in progress by the licence of a previous game of this shell company against one of the other shell companies. I mean, just a LITTLE stupid, but still, it's not like the heads of this shell are named in the legal documents as defendants, right?
