Remember when we thought the Clans would have this cool introduction with Community Warfare?

Yeaah...Spring of 2012 seems so long ago now...

No CW, no planetary, no timeline or story-driven content, so many things to be fixed, still very limited content. Ridiculously expensive package even if all these features were in place. I love this game but this is a serious mistake. Critics will have field day and tbh I don't blame them. PGI is selling a bigger and bigger dream with each package but the content is just not there.

Priorities, Cash Grab before UI 2.0 or CW to make the game functional. It kind of depresses me.

OK so let's try to balance out all the whiners here. So first off there shouldn't be a single person here who isn't surprised at the way they have announced this package, it's similar to the founder's package and exactly the same as the Project Phoenix package. Sure I'm disappointed that you can't just buy the mech you want but the same thing happened with Phoenix so again no surprise.

Now ask yourself this question, Is it expensive? If your answer is no then you have issues. It is expensive and you know what? It fu*king well should be! These are CLAN mech's for Christ's sake, it's what people have been crying for for the last two years. Now ask yourself this other question, Is it value for money? If your answer here is no then my friend you also have issues. $240 for 24 Clan Mech's including 8 'hero' variants and 90 days premium time plus all the other goodies is a hell of a bargain.

Now the next point I want to raise about all you people whining about the fact they announced this before the release of UI 2.0 and CW. It's not gonna be in the game for another 6 months. Bryan has already said that UI 2.0 and CW will be in the game within that time (maybe not the full and final version but some of it). I for one am glad they have announced this so early as it gives me time to save up and buy the big package. I would have been more p*ssed off if they had announced the package in May and told me I had 30 days to buy the package or it would be finished for good and I think I wouldn't be the only one.

Now onto my final point, the $500 Khan Mech's. Well all I can say here is each to their own, if you have the disposable income to want and afford a shiny gold Mech then fair play to you cause at least some of that money will go back into the game and make my experience better. And to all you di*kheads saying that you would TK a player with a gold Mech I will say this, you better get yourself checked out for some kind of new disease that makes people stupid cause you have it, I just hope it isn't contagious.

My crew and I are going to wait on these. The pricing seems similar to the Phoenix packs which be all grabbed and are generally happy with. Our patience has waned for UI2 & CW start, though. We uttered a resounding "meh" when we saw this. Once they get UI2 & CW in we will likely be back in force. If the Clan sale is still on then there are reasonable odds we will buy in. Until then, however, just not feeling the motivation. The same old gameplay & problems with slightly different chassis just isn't motivating.

They are a great deal if you jump on any package they are $10 a mech which is far cheaper than you could buy any for normally.

We had the gripe about not getting the EXACT mech you want for $10 through some pick and choose package in Founders. Same thing came up again in Phoenix.. kinda sick of seeing it. It's called a package.. don't like what you see for the price than just wait for them to come out normally.

Personally I want them all, been dying to see clan mechs in MWO so I'll gladly pay the price to get them all on June 17th.

As for the $500 khan mechs? quit crying about it? Nobodies forcing you to get them.. they don't even come with all the mechs. It's simply there for those people that WANT them, nothing wrong with it in my eyes.

I can understand the "man where's UI 2.0 and CW" crowd to a point. We've been waiting a long damn time for that to come out, so like I said in another thread; ask yourself "Do I think $240 is worth 24 clan mechs in the state MWO is currently in" If so buy it it's a good price point for what your getting. If not than simply wait, they will be out eventually for everyone.

A very good post, you made there! I myself can not wait until my beloved mechs are finally ingame. $10 a clan 'mech is okay!
The prices for the gold mechs are beyond good and evil, but which true Claner would allow such waste?

btw are clan mechs suppose to have variants ? i thought they are omni mechs ?

Sort of. Aside from their "prime" loadout, they usually have several alternate premade "configurations" that they come in. Which are really just different loadouts for one or more particular roles. Omnimechs don't come in fixed variants like Battlemechs do.

Well, all i got to say is that, i am seeing the same thing happening, as with the phoenix packages. A lot of crying and complaining in the beginning, but in the end, most of us got our little "Red Star forum badge".

So, PGI was able to make some healthy profit out of it, otherwise i wouldn't think we would see those current packages being ninja released 1 1/2 months after the phoenix sale ended, and just after saber reinforcement package sale was out.

So, yeah, no sweat.....Let's go get that "MASAKARI" Super-Duper collection, forum badges, medallions, warhorns etc etc etc and forget about everything else. I wouldn't even be surprised if we found out that, many of us will be "GOLDEN KHANS" by june 17th lol....

My computer died a year ago and it took over 3 months to get a new one, since then I lost the drive to play MWO, living in the UK it was hard to play with the clan I was in, practice at 8pm EST for a UK'er isn't fun when it lasts hours. 6am finish for the one battle I managed to make.... just was a realisation that just couldn't be done on a regular basis.

The prices involved with these packages just seems crazy, I just hope that something comes out to justify the prices that these mechs have.

Love the game but ive learned to wait. I spent few hundred dollars and have 59 mechs. The game is not polished ( No UI 2.0 yet) theres too few maps. They are dragging their feet on releasing features. As we are spending stupid amounts of money. Who says the clan mechs are worth anything? They are supposed to be. How do we know? Will the builds for the mechs be Garbage? Im done buying things only to be dissapointed. 500 bucks for a gold mech? Does it {poop cbills every day? I'll wait as is my right and see.

Cheers

PGI you have got to be ******* kidding me!! are you off your rocker! I try and refrain from swearing on a public forum but you are completely taking the proverbial.

I've been patiently (just) waiting for the clans to be introduced and surprise surprise you've well and truly ****** it up....AGAIN. $210 for a sodding TW package I'd expect to get every single clan Mech in the sodding game for that amount of dosh not just 3/4 variants of one clanner. Yeah broken record i know but this getting beyond a joke.

And before you say it i'm well aware of supply and demand but this is a computer game, it is not exclusive it is not tangible and you have nothing to show with parting with an obscene amount of cash. A Lancia stratos or a Ferrari 250 GTO is worth a lot of cash a computer game character IS NOT. Quite frankly if people pay for these let alone the Gold packages their the ones that need their head checking not PGI.

PGI. with bare faced cheek like that not only have destroyed my expectations you've completely spoilt it now.

I'm off to go and congratulate the Hawken team for bringing out twice the content in half the time. and don't even get me started on the incentives they offer being more realistic.

PGI you are destroying this franchise plain and simple, someone who actually has interest in making the game should take over not bloody accountants. MWLL and MEKTEK have done a better job of the franchise TBH.

Hmm so you have no founder's tag and you have no Project Phoenix tag so I'm assuming that you have interest in supporting PGI by giving them your hard earned cash and therefore you must be one of these people who expect the entire game for free. Well go play Hawken then, I'm sure you'll have more fun there anyway.

And yet in response to your "not one single person should be suprised" MANY are.

And yet in response to your "is it value for money? if you say no then you have issues" MANY have issues because we could have lifetime accounts & bought many games, many times over for that money. The only one with an issue here is you white knight.

Is that PGI tattoo on your chest scratching?

I'm not quite sure how to respond to this. You say people were surprised that they announced Clan mech's this way? OK maybe I can understand the timing not being that good so soon after Project Phoenix but as I said in my original post, I think that's better because it gives people more time to save up and buy it eventually 3, 4 or even 5 months down the line.

You say you could have lifetime subs to games or bought many other games for the price and yes I get that as well but you have no Founder's tag, nor do you have a Project Phoenix tag so to me you appear to be another one of these entitled players who believe that a free to play game should be 100% free and that's just wrong. Also I don't get your last point, saying I have issues and calling me a White Knight for doing what? Trying to calm people down, to reassure the masses that this isn't as bad as people think? I don't get it.

Oh and I'm definitely not a supporter of PGI, they have done many things badly and their lack of communication with the community is one of the things that I dislike the most but I don't think this announcement is a bad idea and I have highlighted my reasons for say such.

They didn't bring in the firemoth, luckily.

the locusts (infamous for their speed) from all the phoenix bundles would have been rendered immediately obsolete.
