I will not buy this pack. 240$ is just insane, specially when you don't know the hardpoint configuration of mechs. They might suck ***.

Too expensive. I like that there are a lot of new mechs, but I already spent money on this game. More money then I would have on a regular box game. The mechs are increasing but real content not so much. The game needs more maps, more types of play, and just more variety. I think its absurd to ask for even more money for these clan packages. The packages start more expensive than any other package to date. It also doesn't matter until we see the clan weapons. It would seem that most mechs start being built to a common build. Need more strategy in the game too.

I am upset there is no Firemoth from the start. I love that 'mech even though I am pretty much an Assault and Heavy pilot. I do like the other weight classes too.

I guess they don't want to add any more chassis' requiring MASC for now.

Hellbringer is a pretty glaring omission as well. Another one of my favorites.

The fuss comes from 2 places. Some feel it is a BLATANT money grab when PGI has really yet to deliver the goods. There is some reason to that argument. I don't think it warrants uninstalling and cursing PGI for all eternity, but UI2.0 and CW wont hurt package sales that's for sure.

The other fuss comes from black knights. People who don't even play the game anymore. They likely stopped before even ghost heat was in. They remain on the forums because they have an unhealthy obsession with making people miserable.

By Comparison Neverwiner is a F2P game! You can exchange in game currency to buy thing that can be gotten with cash. It takes longer, but there is nothing that can be paid for that cannot be earned in game. We pay for "NOW" in NWN. But the patient or cheap will eventually earn what some paid cash for.

Yeah and if anyone says this game is P2W, then they are braindead. PGI has done a fantastic job of making sure this game is NOT pay to win. You pay for NOW, or you grind for the same stuff.

I am not saying it s pay to win, just that it is not truly free to play.

Neverwinter would have had a Gold Omni to be bought NOW and maybe a year later I could buy it with Astral Diamonds earned in game. Everything in their founders pack is becoming available in game as time goes on. Minus Premium time IIFC.

I guess it's arguable. Every variant of the founders pack is available, just not with the special geometry. I imagine though that if they make those available diehard founders will be foaming at the mouth with a hot crimson rage.

However, I speculated that warhorns will allow you to give a cbill mech a permanent 30% bonus in cbills, effectively making it a hero mech, meaning you could in theory, buy the cbill mechs and make them into founders mechs. That is all speculation though.

If warhorns do that it would make the clan packages MORE than worth the money. 24 mechs, 8 of which are prime variants (effectively hero mechs), plus the option to create 8 MORE hero mechs.

You must not be playing the same MWO that I do, please tell me what non-free mechs/items are "required" to play MWO? Don't spread misinformation to casual forum goers and new players.

it's also important to point out that PGI has mentioned at LEAST 10 times that they were not going to make the clan mechs stupidly overpowered like in every single mechwarrior title before it, which most likely explains why they're doing variants for them instead of giving them their all-powerful omnimech capabilities that would instantly make every single IS mech in the game obsolete.

they already went over how they were doing it, stop lying

Yeah. One unfortunate point of potential breakdown is taking a Dire Wolf core, slapping a pair of Alpha arms and Beta side torsos. Suddenly you have 6 or 8 ballistic slots. Ultra 5 spam hoooo!

heat? talk about shutting down fast

He's not lying about anything. The approach they're using preserves variants and adds in freedom to alter hardpoints, but not like before, where it was quite simply complete freedom in every way without any logical limitations what-so-ever.

Honestly my only issue with proposed mechlab limitations of Clan tech is the armor. Several stock mechs will be insanely under protected and many more will have excessive rear armor.

Anyone else worried that the subtext of this package is really, "We need to give you something to placate you in about six months when you realize that CW is STILL about a year away"?

It crossed my mind, but I'm not really worried. And I dont think you placate someone by promising them goods 6 months in the future. Also CW will come in phases, so the final phases are probably about a year away, but the first few layers of it should be coming sooner rather than later.
