i agree, though marketing is bad these days in the corporate world. i have seen so many free to plays that are so horrible and cheesy (star wars the old republic prime example) the thing is these free to plays have so much money when they start, and there capital was built up over many years. MWO by PGI started with less, and they are in process of making a better game (mechanic, feel, and realism wise) than any other free to play i have ever experienced. They are practically making a block buster movie, with scraps and leftover props, they are completing the impossible. meaning the mech warrior franchise Liscencing has been spread out over the years, there is no Capital that follows it around.
To bad they are bleeding us dry while doing so

I agree. Furthermore, even if I put another $120 into this game, there's no guarantee that PGI is going to use a significant portion of that money to make the game better. They'll just laugh all the way to the bank as MWO languishes in its pathetically incomplete state.

The thing people need to realize about this game, is it is an MMO, their is no problem with this. This game is great in my opinion, it gets a little bit repetitive at times (via map list, game type) [but what first person shooter doesn't have this issue, that's probably why their is a new version of call duty every year, plus 4 map packs to go along with it spaced out by 3 months] so in my sense i rather support an on going Game that is Awesome, rather than support a game that will be void, and i have to buy a new copy of via new version in a years time after dumping time, money and energy into some thing that will just go out the window.
Ok with that said, lets talk about LORE, this being an on going game, if it was a single player game and we did not want to have any control, that's what it would be a 45 hour play through maybe less, running along the guide lines, of some preset plan. (BORING)
We now have an opportunity to become the LORE!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!
If balancing issues have to be implemented on Clans let them be implemented. it is not going to be the same as you all once experienced and it will not Quench your Nostalgia we will never be able to truly recreate the Imagination of a 10 year old. We will never be able to play in the dirt and actually View our selves as the dump truck(free of responsibility), with out actually driving a dump truck around real-time grown-up size Free of responsibility (which will not happen cause you have to be a responsible person to drive a dump truck in the first place).
So Sit back relax, and CREATE YOUR OWN DESTINY. Also don't play like a wild banshee, it doesn't work play with thought and decisive action, die and learn, live and conquer. BE CAREFUL ONE DECISIVE WRONG ACTION OR COMMAND MAY LEAD TO YOUR DEATH, its all about being Clear Headed.
THIS IS WAR.
Mech "WAR" rior Online.
Hope i didn't come off to strong for y'all, but just slow your role be patient, and let things unfold as they come, no expectations leads to 0 disappointment, I am not saying don't dream, but don't expect people to Cater to your dreams. Stress FREE good luck y'all and HAPPY HUNTINGS!
On Lore. What counts for MW:O to me is that if Unit X fought on Planet Y v Clan W. those units duke it out over that planet. Winner take all. That will then be Canon here. I have run Long Term Campaigns that changed Canon History I know how this CAN work.
Balance, I don't care I want my Clan opponents to have their advantages. I fought vs all the OP Metas because I expected my Clan Opponents to be tough as nails to defeat! SO leaning how to take down an OP enemy has been good training for the brawl to come. I had a fair amount of success against every OP 'Mech that has been (Sadly) Nerfed. I was looking at about 30% wins 1 on 1 vs these OP builds. Which meant I will be winning about 20-25% of the time v Clanners If thing went right. But if the Clans are not going to even match the OP builds of the past... Where's the challenge? Wheres the competition?

Compare it to League of Legends. Mechs are champs, variants are skins. On top of that MW:O even has it's own set of skins with all the lore house, merc and clan units!
LoL prices are reasonable. MW:O prices are crazy, and the fact that people are throwing 500$ or more at this game, even before it is somewhat finished, is quite mind boggling tbh.
In star citizen the cheapest ship is $30, I bought an $80 one and a friend of mine paid $250 for one. Some folks have pledged $1000 omore and its not even in alpha.

*I guess basically I am just surprised to see this announcement before CW and I thought it would all be in place by then. I have 91 days premium with my finger on the trigger, but looks like it will be this time next year before I can really capitalize on it*
I am excited about today's update though

I for one am extremely stoked for the Clan mechs, and I'll be getting the Masakari package. I'm very interested to see how PGI implements the Clan tech. My only gripe is that they aren't released earlier because I really want to screw around with them.

READ THE POSTS!!! Read BETWEEN the lines! These folks are in this for the LONG HAUL, having secured the license for years into the future! Why release mechs one or two a month, and take so long to get to CW and such, well those are BIG Tasks for a SMALL company. You're in on the ground floor, learning the mechs, the maps and the game before any of that happens. When the game gets more organized, you will have the mechs and builds set. You won't be "that guy" who has only 2 mechs and they are both mediocre builds without elites or modules. Would you really WANT a game where someone new to the game has the same equipment and experience??
STICK WITH THIS!!!
THIS CAN BE A BIG DEAL!
Spend a buck now, and stay with the game!

I'm inclined to agree. No one is forcing anyone to buy these and they will become available to everyone in time.
by announcing this now they retain the loyalty and trust of all who want to play for or against the Clans and also help to fund their future aspirations.
No one is being robbed. You don't like it? Don't pay for it. Pretty simple concept. I'm sure my 10 year old nephew could work that concept out.

Anybody who just says "**** PGI," why are you still visiting a site dedicated to a game they make? Why not just quit playing the game? And if you have already, why are you still talking about it on forums?
If you still like the game and play it but are upset about the pricing structure, guess what? IT'S STILL ******* FREE TO PLAY!!!! You just have to play it, for FREE, to get the in-game currency to buy the **** they're selling to impatient people like myself for real cash. If you're upset about the grind of the game and how long it takes to buy the stuff: it's supposed to be fun! If you feel like you're doing the daily grind of a desk job, just doing it for the C-Bills, then you probably shouldn't be doing it at all because apparently you aren't enjoying the process.
If you're upset because you are a founder and feel like you didn't get what you paid for, that is somewhat understandable but A.) That's a known risk of funding any project before its completion and B.) There is good reason to believe that many of the things we are hoping for are still in the works and will be implemented. I myself have spent over $600 on this game, so I count myself among the people with the most justification for having negative things to say. While I do have many criticisms, I try to keep them constructive and mature rather than "**** PGI! It costs too much! Gimme everything now!"
And a final comment on the gold skins so many people are pissed off about. Why the hell do you care about that? If you don't want to spend $500 on a gold mech, then don't! It's that simple! Anybody who does buy one is helping to keep the game running for all the people who play for free, so you should be thanking every rich ****** who actually buys one. And they should also be primary targets if they're on the enemy team, because it's very satisfying to shoot rich people!

In conclusion, if you're one of the ragers, please turn down your childish entitlement-driven temper tantrum and return the forums to people who actually enjoy the game.

I do enjoy occasionally playing this game, but I am incredibly frustrated with the development teams apparent dishonesty and empty promises, and can not justify sinking that much money into this game. I will say, that if the game simply had what was road mapped so long ago, I would happily have purchased a gold Daishi and Timber Wolf.
