I was told next week they'll try to have one of the announcers use English..

Soon we will have #savegermanannouncementsinthefrrvikinglancetournament movement in our hands and that will be hell.

About the missing streams:
We are currently waiting for the guy with the login information for the twitch.tv account to come online to figure out whats up with them. Im sure you will be able to watch the matches shortly.
I still have to watch them myself and I will write a short update just like that for friday after I did.

Edit: Unfortunately the other replays seem to be lost due to technical difficultys with twitch.tv of some kind.
I will post a summary of the second days events later today.

The data from match 53 appears to be lost even though it has already been played. Could we have an update as to what happened there?

As far as I know it was a draw. Unfortunately the bracket system is not capable of showing the points we awarded for that, but they are there in the background and they du have a effect on the standings.

I was under the impression that it was a win for Mindwrym and his team.

I watched this

A game which did not follow the meta (Pin-Point super damage pop-tart builds) and had strict ton limits (someone was disqualified for being 5 tons over) turned out to be a LOT of fun to watch...

Kind of wish I would have put a team together....

Match 53 was reported to me as a draw with 3 kills to 1 kill in favour of Mindwyrms team.
Binarybeast.com however doesnt show it like that, if you click on "view details" you will be able to see the points awarded.

So Binarybeast's system is counting it as a draw because of the set up? Or it going down officially as a draw?

It officially counts as a draw, but in a different way that binarybeast shows it.
I awarded one point for each destroyed mech. Those points are in the system of binarybeast, but it doesnt wont them like it counts them.
There is currently no bracket system that really supports MW:O. I chose binarybeast because it was the only one that was able to open a tournament with two different elimination styles in one tournament (round robin in the qualification & single elimination in the finals).
Its not optimal but we just have to make it work somehow.
As with everything regarding the whole thing.

Am i understanding this right ? MIndwym's team fight Insengrim 2. Insengrim 2 lose 3 mechs, The 4th, A Raven runs of and hides, refusing to fight, And its recorded as a draw ???? So they still up end up with a point for running away ???

Match was to begin with starting positions of C3 for Ike, E3 for Dane. Match positions were stated for 2 full minutes before match began. Mech stated before the match began "we are way out of position" and "Dora sent us to C3" prior to match beginning. Less than 30 secs (roughly 20) into the game, Isengrim Raven (and soon afterwards entire enemy force) is found in C4, just over the ridge and on the high ground above Ike's group. Given the starting positions, this movement speed is physically impossible without possibly breaking the game itself.

As it is not Isengrim's foul-up for poor positioning, I feel this match should be considered void, and redone from scratch with proper starting positions. While unfortunate, even minor errors in matchmaking should be corrected at the earliest possible time. As most of Group C's matches are already done, this should not be a problem.

I was not in that match, but based on what I have been told, that is essentially correct. After losing the rest of his team the raven pilot disengaged from combat and his survival means that mindwyrms team gets 3 points, instead of 4, while the Isengrim team got 1 point instead of 0. Personally, I am uncomfortable with rules that reward this sort of behavior. But they are the rules and they were stated prior to the match, and no one seemed to protest...

I get what you're saying Mech, and that was my thoughts on it too. However, what Mindwyrm is saying is that instead of getting 3 points for killing 3 mechs, his team gets 1 point for not killing all 4 because the match was considered a "draw". At least as BV has recorded it.

In that case you are mistaken. That is not what BV is saying, nor is what they have done. Check for yourself
http://binarybeast.c...ad_match/915834

3 points to 1 point.

Edit: I think you're being confused by the points listed on the main overview area. Those aren't the points BV is using to score these matches. You can see the points BV actually awarded when you click on view details for each individual match.

I see. Thanks for the clarification.

But then I have to ask (to BV), what about my teams match with MH? We scored two kills on their team, so wouldn't their victory be 2-0, and not 4-0?

BV said that in games where all 4 of a teams mechs were destroyed, the winning team gets 4 points and the losing team gets zero. Regardless of how many mechs the losing team destroyed.

If you had mechs that survived in that match, then BV made an error and will fix it for you. I found an error in one of my teams match results and they fixed it pretty quick.

I was the Lance Commander for the Isengrim team in question. We were operating under the assumption that teams would be awarded points if they had any mechs standing at the time limit. The Raven was ordered to run to save a point after we got mashed by a well-timed charge, and successfully killed the clock. Match result at called time limit: 3 kills to 1 in favor of Mindwyrm's. The implied points result as I understand it is 3 points for them, and 1 point for us.

Also, we were able to play 2 matches; the one mentioned above and our first round, in which we won 4-1 vs. the Death Rattlers. Our current standings, as I understand the scoring should be 5 total points. (4 for the win and 1 for the 3-1 draw.)

Neg we didn't. Wouldn't have affected much of anything regardless, was just curious.

It is like Dane said, you only get points if you have someone left to carry them home.

Unfortunately binarybeast is far from optimal. Its just the least unfit system there is.
I am currently working on a summary for the saturday groups (finally) and also on a table that shows the points awarded and the rankings acording to our rules, that will show you the actual points you have earned.

I thought I had read all the rules. I must have missed something. Can you point me to where you found that?
