While they were out on maneuvers at a nearby lake, he asked whether or not he could get his mech wet. After being laughed out for the obvious answer (it was raining that day, after all), he defended himself by stating that he was merely concerned about the effect the salt water in the nearby ocean would have on his mech's actuators. As you can imagine, this aroused more reason for mockery. One of his fellow trainees promptly strolled his mech out into the waist-deep (for a mech) waters. MarineTech further questioned whether it would affect the performance of the carburetor.
