XL engine builds are awesome on this, but no sane person does that.

How does this standard motor build look?

Or this and can swap BAP for AMS:

IMO, a single Streak launcher or MG generally isn't worth it. SSRM's spread their damage too much and MG's are better when grouped for maximum shred potential.

Buddy of mine put this together, just for more ideas.

He won't be doing much good in it.
He has a LBX that's an 11ton anchor - no ammo.

no ammo

... Welp, I knew that build wasn't quite right as I was replicating it. I'll be over here, facepalming.

humble edit: try this

Well, I have had a few ideas for this mech. The first is a brawler build that is a mix between the HBK-4G and the HBK-4SP, and it looks something like this: GRID IRON BRAWLER

The next build is a long range skirmisher that uses an AC5 and an LRM 20 to harass the enemy from a distance. It has an XL engine though, so it has to keep its distance or it will be shredded: GRID IRON SKIRMISHER

I plan to use mine as a 4G with c-bill bonus.

If my theory crafting is correct, the little second hunch should help catch shots and help spread some damage.

Alternatively, keep the XL and use an AC10 and LRM20 for general shenanigans.

It's slow, but this kind of firepower on a medium is pretty fun.

EDIT: Missed a DHS

He just forgot to put in the final heatsink. He has space for it and there is an extra on available for it.

I got mine running with a spare XL engine I have lying around.
GRID IRON
Still considering should I replace that DHS with an extra ton of LRM ammo.

45 shots of AC10 and 18 shots of LRM10, 3 MLaz for mop up.
XL 250 to go 81kph and 89kph after speed tweak.

AC/2 & 250Std For Teh Meh …

Oh, come on: How many more AC/20 builds can anyone call "new and exciting?" :(

If you have one lying around somewhere, you could upgrade the engine to an XL255 - get a slight boost to speed and cooling for the same tonnage. I'm running a similar build but kept the SRMs and extra leg armour instead of the LRMs.

For Kerensky's sake just go with the classic 4G build.

250 and 255 rating engine gives the same cooling.
Engine heat sink are 1 per 25 rating.
At 275 rating you get an engine slot for heat sink, at 300 rating you get 2 slot, and etc...
