I kind of caught the same bug. I took a hiatus for a few months then came back about a week ago. I have run mostly just my 5 Mlas LCT-1E when I run lights (which is a lot considering I main lights). I like all that speed and handling even my other lights feel slow. Also is it sad when the Locust is usually top 3 for dmg on a team?

Unfortunately this is almost always the case. You don't deal damage if you're hiding; and unfortunately, most often in public queue the users of heavies and assaults are more chicken than the most scaredy little chicken. If you're using a locust, you aren't afraid of death or failure any more, which means you're out there actually doing damage!

Its the increased cooldown quirk that does it for me. With how I run my 3M, its a close, fast drive by, and the more alpha's I get off from the flank, the better. And because the SPL duration is so short, it doesn't benefit as much from a lessened beam duration as it would cooldown.

That or its just more comfortable visually.

Also, keep in mind this is as a point blank, Knife Fighter, the 1E does far better in a longer range poke.

Well, I discovered a new fun build...

LCT-3M with a PPC. Throw in a module, and you have rapidfire PPC. Almost as fast as a LL on a 1V!

I'm gonna have to give that one a whirl, and see. Rapid fire PPCs sound like fun.

Not a locust, but another troll (read: fun) build. Reminds me somewhat of the 2x AC2 Locust. 2x UAC/2 DakkaFox. Witness the double tri-barrel miniguns on the arm! 5 tons of ammo. Now go lay down that 8 sustained DPS because you can (without jamming too much).

I miss my old 2UAC Kit Fox.
ECM, ML, 2UAC2, 1JJ.
Had to run that other arm with 0-1 armour though... haven't found a replacement build I'm happy with yet

I run purely 2 UAC2s on it. I call it my CS Fox. Since he can bunny hop, and spray bullets like no tomorrow.

After a while you stop thinking about it, and just run into the fray. You can pretty much move on the battlefield freely. Most enemies won't really care about you if they have bigger easier targets around....Hey...you're just in a locust right? What harm could you do?

Almost legged myself on the beginning (infinite fall bug), but it turned out just okay

Ughhhhh watching novice Locust pilots chicken out of a 1v1 brawl against ERLL boaters makes me very, very angry D:<

Why can't people just understand that bigger lasers != more damage? If they can't keep the lasers on you for the full duration, it does nearly nothing. That, and they will ALWAYS overheat first if they try to brawl against SL and SPL.

Yes its sad. I am much more leary of that EXE or Nova boating csl or cspl than a stalker boating 4 LL.

Oh yeah. The SPL Nova is a thing of terror. I've seen a bunch of 'Crows do this lately too.
