i have a question, probably a noob one but can someone please tell me if in snafets when it says 18% heat dissipation on the 1V is that a positive or negative? because I can't tell if it is telling me that it dissipates more heat or less.

It is a positive quirk. As far as I know, they removed all of the negative quirks from the game. Stormcrows and timbers used to have a couple negative ones, but almost always, quirks should be read as advantageous (even though they frequently put the wrong sign+/- in the notes when they change stuff around).

Do you wanna build a Locust?
Come on, let's go and play
I hardly see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away...
We used to be mech buddies
And now we're not
I wish you would tell me why!
Do you want to build a Locust?
It doesn't have to be a Pirates' Bane

TBR-S side torsos and TBR-A left torso still have nega quirks. And the DWF-S head.

But yeah, that's all the nega quirks in the game. No other mech has them.

Dear Lolcust lovers,

A friend of mine is doing some drawings, as well as me trying to color them in. They involve mechs, and the Lolcust was one of them to be chosen to be drawn.

Why is this so unique about it?

Well, he will draw something for food. And he hails from Reddit.

<o There will be more in a week or two on details of this.

(To add I'm going to be very inactive here so if anyone wants to talk to me the best way is email)

A little late, but building assets from scratch in MSPaint is a PTA...

It's good, but, the loop with the text needs to be longer - about 3-4 times, it's too fast to comfortably read at the moment.
The legs aren't moving quite far enough back (should move past vertical), making it look like it's run-shuffling for the toilet.

Locust always needs more love. :P

The Locust

I like this mech it's small and quick.
You'll like it too if you keep your wit.
I like this mech it's small and fast.
But you won't laugh as I run past
And six small pulse lasers toast your. . . leg.
That's why the locust is a plague.
I like this mech, this mech can zoom.
Look out or this mech will cause your doom.
Because this mech can gun, this mech can run.
Yes gun and run and run and gun
Right by a streak crow, boy this mech is . . .
BOOM!

Yeah... Seriously was using ms paint and some gif making website, with something like Photoshop it would have been much easier to get the text to fade in with the animation. I also could not find a side shot of the lct to model in stride, so I'm not as happy with it as I want to be and it may get a repost a little further on down the road.

Now that I have the asset though, as relevant topics come up, it can be reused. :D

Aye, it's good for paint.

I believe Serif still have their Free versions of the software (which are simply 6-8 versions old of the current programs) - if you grab the Drawplus one, you can do stop and key frame animation in it. Posted Image

http://www.serif.com...esign-software/
I've used the Serif Suite for over a decade, and update regularly (on Drawplus X8 atm).
It'll allow you to do drawing, import Paint pixel art as object, and animate with only a little effort.

For 'realistic' movement of things, look to nature - the Ostrich is a good base for Chicken Walkers in my opinion:

In fact, slowed like this, I think it probably matches the gait and speed a mech like the Locust would have.

- I look forward to what comes next. :)

What have they done to the 1V!!!! it's gone from being a viable locust to strip it for parts.
You can't survive the facetime needed for machineguns even if your good and stay behind a target. you can't rely on your single energy mount as much.

So what can you do? STD 170 and ERLL....Boring.....

Locust is very hit-or-miss, but once in a while you manage those amazing matches with 700+ damage and a match score of 500.

Enough to make up for all the times I got one-shotted by some triple ERPPC monkey with a lucky shot. Posted Image

With an LPL it is still a monster little mech. The ERLL takes too long to apply damage, but yeah, face time with MGs doesn't seem. The biggest perk worth note on the 1V now is the recycle time for lasers.

There, I hope you're happy... I'm still not 100% but it is much better than it was. The text needs a solid 2 more shades of grey, so does the fade in and out, but yeah, much better.

This is my Locust. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My Locust is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Locust is useless. Without my Locust, *I* am useless. I must pilot my Locust true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will.

My Locust and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit. My Locust is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its speed and its electronics.

I will keep my Locust clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will.
Before the Gods, I swear this creed. My Locust and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.

So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

Greetings MechWarriors,

While I am. not able to show the final product, I was allowed to show the WIP design when it was being developed:

although not much, the final product is much more... how would I say it, appealed by it.

<o

Have a good day.

I'm intrigued and would like to see further. Where might I see the finished product?

you can find the finished product on a program called discord, under the group called outreach hpg. there you will find a discord thread to join the group. Ask for he who draws for food and he'll show you.
