It is the first to affect me physically (no cockpit shake didn't) after a few matches the eye strain is unbearable. I get a headache from playing your game now. Not to mention in certain areas on many maps your visibility goes to zero. We can add that is is present in all vision modes making night vision USELESS.
For those who want more immersion all I have to say is give them a toggle for it if they really want it. I doubt this will be game breaking for many, but for me at least it is. I have supported this company with cash now I have to ask you at PGI: What have you done for me lately?
At current, made all the cash I have supported your company with be water down the drain.
I'll log in from time to time to see if you have fixed this but I will not support your company with any more cash til there is a fix to this.

The annoyance is even greater if you wear eye-glasses that are likewise speckled (not to mention a dusty monitor screen), so three levels of crud is really immersive.
*sampler
1) Counter to canon as MechWarrior's wore neuro-helmets and were not three inches from the windscreen (nitpicky aye),
2) The grime is on the inside; fire/kill your AsTech.
3) After months working on improving graphics, they release something that conceals those same improvements.

*edit*
this is somewhat amusing, within a few minutes playing my atlas I had a thumping headache (no enemy contact/shots/nadda) just from watching this green speckled stuff bounce up and down on my screen (it was in sync with the throbbing). Apologies to the JJ guys I was giving a hard time to, since I had no issues with the original JJ shake when sniping myself.

Ever looked on your window at home when the sun is shining in the morning at low angle? If you move inside your apartment, the "glare" effects also move. So I actually think it is quite a realistic behaviour of the effect. One can discuss for sure if the effect is too strong and should be tuned but overall, i like it a lot! Despite the fact that in the lore, the Mechs do not have windows but displays, it is quite a nice effect. I like to see debris from explosions too and destrcutable environment etc.

It baffles me that this could give anyone a headache. I don't understand. It is a very minimal effect. I can only assume based off of posts I have read here that:
-People do not drive
-cannot drive
-drive with no windshields
-or just drive with headaches.
I try to be sympathetic with most people and try to understand their point of view however, in this, I cannot fathom.
So yes add a toggle so we can quickly move away from this ridicules subject lol.

I've only played about ten games or so since the patch, but it seems the primary complaints focus on the fact that the dust scratches in the center of the cockpit glass become obvious when zoomed in. This can cause people to focus on the scratches causing a sense of movement in a completely different direction to the terrain. This can be fixed with relative ease by either adjusting the opacity of the texture down in the center of the windshield or even making the scratched glass texture in that area completely transparent, focusing the texture towards the corners of the cockpit windshield and thus out of general sight and combat focus. This seems more practical to do than introduce a toggle, as a toggle means adding programing into the mix which seems more error-prone than something that, from what I can tell, can be fixed by the art department.
Another complaint I saw was in regards to the glare. I'm not sure what can be done here, since I doubt adding a back to the player cockpits is going to happen (I believe they mentioned in the past about greater lighting errors and such), but this might be something that can also be fixed via the art department, perhaps by adjusting the material used for the glass and making it less reflective.
Edit: for ze bad spellingz

To pgi think before adding scrap. May sure you have a off button oh just in case
It might sounds hard but stop playing computer games then.
You won't see a scratch-free windshield on a battlefield and this is how it would look like. It is ridiculous that you want to sit there without a windshield in front of you.
The solution would be a sensor-plate instead of a window but then it might look like thermal-view all the time, not very appealing.

It ain't giving me a headache but it is burning my eyes.
Maybe that's why it doesn't bother me. My car windshield DOES look like that

For those of us who have the problem if it happens in real life we just clean our glasses but thanks to the brilliant *NOT* programmers at PGI we can't. Trust me when I say even those with perfect 20/20 vision can succumb to eye strain if exposed to the factors too long.
This was a not just bad but totally **** poor decision on PGI's part. By making it layered like looking through eye glasses it causes eye strain on many of us. Eye strain can cause mild to severe symptoms and thank's to PGI we can't take the most simple corrective measure.

As long as they don't roll it back, at adds loads to the experience for some of us.

Isn't eye strain caused by your eyes attempting to focus on a distant object while there is something between you? As in your eyes almost try to focus on 2 objects at once with dirty glasses? In that case this shouldn't be a problem since you are looking at a flat screen regardless of what's on it.
Not arguing really, just trying to understand why this is suddenly causing such world ending problems.

The pseudo glass texture is really disturbing and annoying.
And since the glass doesn't crack on cockpit hits its far useless and not really more immersive.
Who ever wished this {Scrap}? - please give us a toggle in the game settings.
