yea well its not running well on my 955black/hd5770 ma770ot-ud3 12gig ddr3 on win7 home premium x64

this problem is new because I was happy before...

I run ATI with no issues. One comp uses a 6850 and needs a lower rez to run well but the R9 270x on the other rig does fine at 1920 x 1080 and all the goodies turned on (both comps use an ATI 965BE) Your issue is you've got a 5770. That's older than the hills on Grandma's chest in the gaming world.

I've often questioned the use of Cryengine in a free game where running smoothly on lower end comps is a must but they obviously wanted the screenies to get people to install, they'd figure out holding onto them later.

Still, every time they add something "nifty", the chances are you're going to take another hit.

and they want and possibly did sell full clan packs to how many people who may potentially own out classed systems in the last few weeks ?

You can always hope for a performance run on the game. It's normal to add features first and make them perform well later, when more data is available. Currently MWO is in a state of "adding features". When those are all in, you can usually expect some tweaks here and there that will improve the performane once again.

Running a system that is boarderlining the minimum specs is always a risk.

The clan packages aren't included in the game yet, so you can always get a refund on them.

If you have the money to go "full clan" you might want to consider investing that in a new GPU instead.

+1 for an option to turn it off.

Personally my system is plenty powerful to run the game, but it is just a distraction to me. I dont feel more imersed with it on, and if anything it breaks immersion in my opinion. My thought is the same as the one above about Windex being lostech. Its 3050, we can jump between worlds, shoot each other with lasers in a nuclear powered walking robot, but somehow we require **** to cover the windows? really?

Overall it just adds to my personal disappointment in PGI. I really do want to like this game, but seriously there are real issues and real features that should be getting knocked out. Obscuring vision more than the haze, fog, snow, and sun glare that is already there while shooting at light mechs with 1 atom thick hitboxes should not be too high on the list guys. Come on...

although I do like what your saying there and I would hope responsible business practices shine through and this option is openly extended to everyone in light of recent developments. ..

one would hope :D

they got to consider this and keep the game in the real world. I would do the new bike and the clan pack but I wouldn't be pushed into building a new pc on top of that....

your game loses out in that contest...

keep your requirements low increase your player base lose that stupid glass.

just an opinion.

I play with a laptop and after the cockpit glass the FPS are too low... then I want a toggle to disable it or a much optimized implementation.

Simple.

Best Regards

People, we all have an opinion, we all(or many anyway) have paid for this game... People will complain about anything and everything.

that said. the glass is nice, the game could be better, it also could be WORSE! the kind of toggle you are asking for will put some at a more advantageous position, so... Either have it all on, all off...or toggle for private matches(maybe no toggle, maybe team vote yes or no)

As far as I am aware, this is the only GOOD Mech game out currently(an opinion of course :D), if you know a better, then why are you not playing?(an honest ?, not a leave comment)

I for one, have had no problems with the new glass, the glare is not bad, the dust(or age wear?maybe it is reflections?) is not bad... Maybe this is high graphics problem??? I have not heard on this post, what kind of systems are running for you motion sickness guys/gals. are you low or high graphics? maybe you should let PGI know that...it may be just too much on the higher settings*Shrug*..as a lower graphics user, I will comment that the glass did cause a small FPS drop for me, but that is my only problem with it.(notice I said MY, not YOUR)

Try it ... they may just listen. when you scream and shout, call names..call it stupid. well, PGI has proven that that will be ignored...why keep at it?

Also I know this will get flamed, so go ahead, show your true colors! however, we all are allowed to have our say, or opinion right?(the joy of being a keyboard warrior!)

I have no stake in this argument in terms of either wanting to remove or keep this feature, but having read the comments, I'd just like to point out that this doesn't stop me from sniping at 1k meters....so I don't see that as a valid reason to stop someone from making this optional. Some of the maps were really bad in test, but I haven't had any trouble this week(maybe I just got used to it?)

It isn't a graphics quality issue, at least for me. It's the disparity of motion between the reflections and the movement of the mech itself. The two sets of visual input affect my sense of balance, causing me to have a reaction akin to seasickness, which leads to me feeling like I'm going to hurl all over my desk after a few minutes. My system isn't the issue.

I've tried to change my play style, sniping more often with zoom and moving less, but last night as I was swarmed by a trio of lights, I felt like I was about to throw up my own feet. Eventually I just let them kill me because that was preferable to continuing to have nausea inducing pseudo motion freak my eyes and balance out.

Glass is fine, implementation is well executed, performance hit surprisingly low, visibility impairment near zero, immersion factor x2.

The only thing a bit putting of with the glass effect is that our cockpits aren´t modeled fully enclosed, so we are getting light from behind .

Motion sickness ?
Again ?
Hey PGI, could we re-implement old JJ-shake for a week please ?

:D

I do realize, you want to see my current system run crysis everything max except the aa ?

and then compare what pgi is doing with cryengine, and then ask why ?

Can we please stop this Nvidia vs. ATI/AMD brabble. The problem is that he is using a 4,5 year old midrange GPU. It doesn't matter if that's an AMD or and Nvidia. they would both perform bad.

Every graphical addition to a game, intended to make it look better, will cost performance. That's an undeniable truth. There will always be a time, when tho old hardware just doesn't bring it anymore.

Glad we agree then, his card is too old. Wonder how he ran Crysis on Max settings? Must have been referring to Crysis 1 not 3 or even BF4. A Nvidia Titan with 6gb of VRAM can barley keep Crysis 3 above a constant 30 FPS. This is the Cryengine same used to make Crysis 3 yet they have scaled everything way up according to them. So we have 24 Giants on the screen. I think it performs quite well. Sure DX 11 should breath some light into the cards that support DX 11. DX 9 is pretty old :D

I did tweet this issue during the UI 2.0 test. I'm sure it got read. it should be an easy fix I but i bet another light source will have to be added to your cockpit. as they said they only use global light. So if they blocked the global light from the back of the cockpit you wouldn't be able to see most of it I presume.

Kind of true... in fact if they wanted true immersion for the glass, they would have to remove almost any reflection when piloting in daylight because we are enclosed. Then at night usually you should not drive a Mech with a light inside just like you should not drive a car at night with a light inside as it create reflection and could be dangerous.

The only thing that could feel real is some kind of reflection of us the pilot in some night maps because of the dashboard lights lighting our face (effect is stronger with white skin) that we could see reflecting on glass.

We are far from the real thing, it's a game and they got ideas and try to do their best.
