Well, Russ mentioned in the NGNG podcast that the next Event would be Lances, and a 12v12 after that, we're just waiting for the Launch Module for that to become a reality. Though I'm dreading the 12v12, as you know that'll be pure META.

I have not played that many 12 v12 matches, but they have been fun. That I may leave to the professionals. Now the 4 man lance tournament is interesting. I still do not drop in lances that much, but this looks to be one to participate in. One item is to announce this a week or two out. some of us do have to set times even on weekends to do things. Training with a few people and dropping with them at set times, is going to be fun to set up.

I was unable to play a single game on Friday and Sunday, as I was out of town, but was able to climb to 3rd place on Saturday, before I logged off. I think this tournament was ill-timed, as they just tweaked a major weapon (LRMs) and it needed to be tested more before they held a competition. I used the new LRM mechanics to pump out major numbers, with highest damage coming in a ELO **** (against my team), which didn't even help me in the tournament... Highlander 733 LRM 55 boat with tag and 1ML. This needs to be addressed, as I had 3 1300+ matches with well over 15 1000+ matches. Finished by dropping down to eigth place and played some matches with my Griffin-3M and Highlander 733c poptart.

When does House Steiner get our flags for being the winners?

At best, you get to laugh @ Liao.

Steiner lances were out in force, but not necessarily with banner carrying Steiners...

Was 1 short of a Steiner company in one match.

Doubtful that I will keep playing after 123 exhausting matches, cause I am happy with being #1 fairly sure i would have gone over 200 when I was Marik for example.

I just want to quickly say thanks for posting your individual match stats. In a tournament like this it's really hard to see how you're doing (lots of folks posting questions like that), so it's real instructive to see a top player's full list of games -- with good and bad games included. I appreciate all the detail. Thanks!

I made it to #439th in the same way as you. No way I was playing another 90+ matches to grind out 10 perfect matches.

"FACTION CHALLENGE" ...
this event would've been BETTER and More FUN, if matchmaker would FIRST find other Mariks to group up with me.
Then if there was 1,2,3 spots left open, matchmaker SHOULDVE used MERCs or LoneWolves to fill out the team for 12man.

So, you ACTUALLY have a "FACTION TEAM" instead of a bunch of mixed factions on the SAME DAMN TEAM!

ALSO, PGI shouldve had 1 more RULE aside from the "only solo drops count".

All solo players HAVE TO SELECT "ANY" GAME MODE for your scores to Count.

So no one can sync drop on a CERTAIN game mode. (ahem Steiners using ASSAULT mode, then Turtle on their Base with tons of LRMs,etc)

Medium vs World was More Fun then this past weekends...

I placed 80 with a score of 1933. Not too shabby for an old guy. :)

If anyone cares, I did this in Quickdraws, Trebuchets and Blackjacks.

My best match was in a BJ-1X with 2 LL, 5 ML, 1 SL. I had 7 kills and over 800 damage.

Just let the numbers run through the calculator, so let's look at the real winning factions, shall we?
1 Davions, 25.57 points per match
2 Mercenaries, 24,74 points per match
3 Rasalhague, 24.39 points per match
4 Liao, 23.69 points per match
5 Steiner, 21.96 points per match
6 Kurita,21.45 points per match
7 Lone Wolves, 20.72 points per match
8 Marik, 20,42 points per match

Seriously, just spamming matches says nothing about the quality. Marik and Steiner are at their deserved ranks in this list.

That list takes the total points of the top 50 players in each house, and divides it by the number of players played by the hundreds/thousands of players in total in the house. See the problem with the methodology there?

If we had data on the total number of matches played for just the top 50 for each house, or the total points for all players in a house, we could get meaningful data from that. What we have now is nothing.

I liked the idea of a faction weekend but would have liked to have seen the factions broken down by class. Top 3 players by faction and weight class. I run a Griffin or a Shadow Hawk and have a hard time ever competing with Assaults when a portion of the score is based on damage. I would image a Locust pilot would really be screwed out of any hope of making it into the top ten. I could be wrong but getting consistent 1000 plus damage games with a Locust is kind of hard.
