nothing is more fun than shouting THIS PLANE IS GOING TO MIAAAMIII in general chat while casually flying across the caldera in Caustic Valley and spewing PPC-bolts from 7 jump jet 4G

Overall, I like it.
Not so much the paintjob but i can black that out, but for the rest of it it's ok.
60 ton mech with jumpjets and ballistics? who needs speed, definitely not this cat.

I also don't like PGI giving energy/missile mechs ballistic hero variants that disturbs the balance between standard variants, they instantly become the superior variant just like the Misery.

I personally believe your just not giving it a chance to show its potential.
Oh an P.S I own a pretty baby and think it's Awesome! (No pun intended)

Well, Dragons can still move fast with ballistics, which this thing can't do. Which I think was the only reason to ever consider choosing a Dragon. Unless you actually use those missile slots, Cataphract 3D seems to do everything this hero does, except better. :/
I'm happy for Quickdraw fans, but I've got enough garbage mechs already. Well, since I just bought a clan pack, it's kind of nice for my wallet that they didn't release an exciting hero at the same time.

Stock is quite interesting and quite good, but with the speed and low ammo it will be very limited (same as the Grid Iron) if you try to use all hardpoints or a strong(er) build.
The paint is not my taste. Does it have something to do with "intra venous" and therefor is called IV ?
Would have loved a .44 style of camo with western colts as barrels, or in green like Ivy ^^
I would have gone and used one AC10 or Gauss and up the engine to 340XL, but the engine cap makes it impossible.
This might be to prevent it from making dragons obsolete, so, well... OK.
Maybe play it as a smaller Archer ?
It's shoulders and overall propotions already look alike.
The other Quickdraws can mount more missiles, but don't look so alike to the Archer, because of the missing symmetry (missiles only in one shoulder/CT).
Put in 2LRM20, 2MG and 2MLaser with AMS and you have your Archer/Bombardier

With the B/M hardpoints it reminds me of the Huginn

You could either use a ERLL in the CT, or two MP/ML with more ammo.
This could looke like an Archer:

Haha, I love the quote about having enough garbage mechs. I have sold about 20 garbage mechs in the last few months. Anyway, Quickdraws can use XL's just as well as the Dragon so I assume you mean the engine limit. Do we know if it is 315 or 300 based on the 240 that it comes with?
It's tough to compare any heavy to the 3D as it is such a great mech.
As an aside, I wish they had a 30% off they day the hero mech came out to encourage impulse buys. I am not paying full price for this, but will bite at 30% or 50% off.

That and the lack of popularity of Quickdraws in general doesn't help its cause.... particularly scaling.
Yep, if the engine cap is as figured, its DOA

All you can say? Have you got nothing positive to say on it? Constructive criticism is all valuable and all but a bit of positive reinforcement for a job well done wouldn't go astray.
@OP, nice job, nice back story, I can see this in the NGNG cartoon with a cowboy hat. Quickdraw could certainly use a shot in the arm

Huh?

...the Hero Quickdraw is not going to make me do those things.
Man, that's two fails in a row. I wanted the Hero Raven to be this awesome thing I could get hours of enjoyment out of, but then it turned into a mutant Ember and I'm like 'Waaaah Q_Q'. Then I see a 'hero Quickdraw Announced!' thread and hop in to check it out, all excite, watch the NGNG cast, and I'm like 'Oh, for...! T_T"
If they do this to my Trebuchets too, I'ma smack someone. SMACK. SOMEONE.

Had similar feelings about the Golden Boy and Grid Iron

Then why paint the circulatory system on it?
Why not twin pistols near the hip joints?
I'm going to have a literal heart to aim at here.

- So the paint job leaves something to be desired. But if the mechs truly good that shouldn't matter.
Load out = interesting but limited effectiveness.
- I like the load out. It seems interesting but with limited ammunition and heat levels it leaves something to be desired.
Hard points = laughable
- Honestly the hard points are laughable. I would've expected 4 ballistic hard points (2 in each arm). While not being able to mount a ton of auto cannons what could have happened is mounting 4 machine guns in conjunction with LRMs and lasers. Which would've allowed this mech to rip off armor at range then chew through open internals at close range. But then again you've been on a machine gun binge with 2 out of 3 recent heroes (Huginn and Ember).
My honest belief is people will rip out the weapons and run something like Dual AC10's, LBX10's or UAC5's with 2 medium lasers for back up. Or opt to go heavy LRMs and maybe pack a set of machine guns but unless your a light 2 machine guns are a waste of tonnage.
This truly leaves things to be desired though it's definitely unique among the quickdraws.
That being said what about that hero Blackjack?

On top of that, those legs...it's just done, even LRM's tend to leg Quickdraws (when they are on the ground).
