Bah....I intend to play both. I have no doubt that PGI will cure the current imbalance issues (yes I know I'm in the minority here) and I can't resist the draw of a good sandbox space sim.

I've been buying a fair bit of their DLC, but I'm done until Seismic and Convergence is fixed. Till then, they can suck on their Halo robot game sim and die.

The ego is very strong at Piranha Games. Do not expect anyone to backtrack on some of their game decision.

Black can you put some realism into your post. PGI made several threads about how things they wanted in the game would turn out. Sometimes what you want simply can't be built, I'm sure Chris Roberts has grand plans for SC, but over time will have to make some compromises because things simply aren't possible. Peter Molyneux certainly did and put his foot in his mouth for making promises his company couldn't deliver on with ever version of Fable Lionhead Studios made.

We've bought packages that will give us access to the Alpha builds, and yet no release day for that has been given.

Optimism is a wonderful thing, but temper it with some reality Black, that way you don't get assumptions and disappointments from them.

Same here. I spent 3 times my MWO investment on SC and I have absolutely no remorse whatsoever. In fact, the money I was going to spend on the phoenix package was also redirected to SC, and I was really excited about the Shadow Hawk. Oh well.

They're doing a lot wrong here and SC is doing everything right over there, nothing else needs to be said.

There was a point that someone made about if you submit a design for a ship and it's used in the game, everyone that is sold you get a profit from it's sale. But I've not heard anything more about it in detail since that statement was made.

But But dumb the game down to the point where its pure pablum to appeal to the imaginary legions of casual PC gamers who don't actually exist? Piranha's business plan for MWO can't be wrong can it?

Everything thing that has been talked about over there is again only TALK. Nothing has been proven in a playable game yet.

I'll try SC when it comes out but if it's a lock-on fest of missiles, screw that, no thank you.

I find it funny all the post saying SC is doing it right. Really a game that from what i understand doesnt even have a Alpha out yet is doing it right. Ive been gaming since the late 80s and every game i have seen that has way to much hype never lives up to it. Good luck to all the people dumping money in a game that u cant even play yet i hope it does live up to everything they say lol

PvE: Where the terms balance = my character is overpowered, and its fine.

Damn, if only they'd get a clue and sell that.

Arctic I'm probably as old as you and know a simple truth that these people simply don't want to face. Games like WC were single player games, all the testing was done in house or in a small invite group. The expectation for sales of that game were somewhere between tens of thousands of games to hundreds of thousands of games.

Today, with this and SC being an MMO, the goal is to sell a minimum of hundreds of thousands units (and I mean sell) within the millions of people playing. It's a different model from 20 years ago, but people still have the same misconstrued expectations that the game should be perfect from the day it's put in a demo disk and sold with a magazine...

Each game has its own merits, I don't really see the issue picking one over the other CAUSE IMA GREEDY ******* and will play any and all F2P games as my bandwidth allows.

Who earns more of my actual money, its up to the developers of each game however, MWO has improved a TON but in the same stride terrible choices have been made that have made me a bit hesitant (and by a bit I mean very) to spend anything more until im sure the game is going in a direction i'll enjoy. Star Citazen will probably be fun, iv always liked space sims quite a bit (WingCommander and Colony Wars were a blast back in the day) but there are only so many hours I can spend doing loop de loops in space shooting at other ships before i'll need a break from that too.

I recently started playin planetside 2 as well now that iv a machine that can run it (more or less, kinda looks like Doom with my graphic settings) and the combined arms feel and massive battles it offers have been a blast (Punctuated by moments of mind numbing rage at SOE for having horrible hit detection and needing a better anti-cheat function) though I dont imagine myself giving them money, upwards to $10 for a single gun i'll only be able to use one a single character is pretty much crap on par with MC prices on standard mechs here.

Seeing as PGI was just copying HI Rez in that they had a Moba in the works and just need to push a POS game they can make near millions on to support their #Moba #Esport, MWO is going to be like tribes where its dead except 40 people who desperately support it.

See CancR, instead of a macro I'd use this, and this one is specifically for you:

it's not like they're promising entirely new stuff. It'll be a mix of X-3 and Eve Online with boarding action. The only difference is that it'll be an FPS multiplayer experience.
