like I said dude, you really need to take a breath and chill out a bit

I did lol
but you got me good yesterday! I don't remember last time i was trolled like that and really i guess i needed that. Your second post with "You made an inaccurate statement and I just clarified that on a private forum it doesn't apply." should have made me realise sooner because it was never about a statement on a private forum and Bilbo already got the matter in his own hand about the same thing and i had already replied to him. Though i admit my reply to him served another purpose than clarify things and instead pushed the implication(my bad?). Here is what happened because you don't want to read the whole thing:

Heffey related an Arbitrary Action to Freedom of Speech. I told him that had nothing to do with FreeSpeech, he reiterated that banning someone was using FreeSpeech and so i wrote a loose definition of Freedom of Speech. I never once used

BILBO seeing my definition made a comment about FreeSpeech assuming I was using it to defend someone which i wasnt. Neither Heffey or Me used the word in that manner. Rather than tell Bilbo that we werent discussing about freespeech with the banning that happened(the real discussion), i decided to seriously pushed the limit of the implication of what Bilbo said with "Are you suggesting we dont care how we are treated because it is not illegal that they treat you like ****?" Because that's why i came here, to discuss implication not stir **** with another game(sorry SC fans). That was my fault, i should have first point out that we werent using the dreaded Freespeech word to justify the lawfulness of what was happening. Bilbo then made a very fair and honest reply to which i also replied. so far so good for me.

You, Sandpit, made your reply before Bilbo ended his, which was basically the same he did and i thought "fine ill push and twist the implication even further this time and in a dramatic way" another mistake i guess, but rather than be disgusted with the terrifying wording that i used "RSI now has power over their customers everywhere on the internet before AND AFTER they are banned." you disregarded what was said, again, and replied "You made an inaccurate statement and I just clarified that on a private forum it doesn't apply." so it's late, i don't realise what is going or maybe you are tired too but what im thinking is Sandpit didnt read past(or even before) the first Bilbo comment and so i made a very serious comment "read the whole thing". yeah... im not gona lie or hide, that was me beind lousy and saying you didnt understand what was going on my bad, im sorry. Funny how You and Bilbo made the very same comment with very different outcome, maybe i shouldnt have made the first 2 words in cap.

You got me good dude, well played seriously and if you didnt troll me you still got to me which is another feat lol. I probably deserved that with my legendary posting habit of being frank with a complete lack of diplomacy.

Many people think like you, regardless, ill still fight for you and everyone else if it comes to this. The way it's going, you might not have to do anything to suffer because inevitably something or someone will make a mistake. Right now we are only seeing a stupid game forum "whoopdeefkindoo" but everything will intertwine eventually. In China they already have a system to punish people who arent nice toward the political power, it counts everything, your post, your friends, every action you take and it gives you preferential treatment. I can't accept that.

Someone being banned from a business' forums is hardly equitable to political persecution in China or anywhere else.

See what a little GOOD trolling can do? Posted Image

lol I think we all get so passionate and wrapped up in our ideas regarding these games we love so much that we forget, we're all nerds on a computer trying to enjoy our leisure time Posted Image

I really did just catch that one blurb you posted out there about free speech and such and was just clarifying that we don't have those freedoms on private forums. Wasn't really tryin to pick on ya much, but I could see ole Heff was getting you really tweeked lol

as far as SC goes?
I enjoy the 2.0 thus far. I've spent $45 on it and I'll play it when it releases. Derek is a grade a dbag who doxxes among other things. He's one of those guys that thinks because he's got some internet popularity and a core following he has some sort of "power".

I think he's a slimy individual and that has nothing to do with SC. That's based purely on what he's done across the internet. Doxxing is inexcusable to me. It's an invasion of privacy to me, there are a lot of very disturbed people on the internet and in sub-communities. Releasing private contact and/or work contact information is as slimy as it gets.

One of these days some dbag like Smart is going to "innocently" Dox someone like that and when some crazy psycho stalker ties them up in duct tape, they'll be an accessory to something horrible. It's not something to toy around with especially in today's age. It's not innocent fun, it's not amusing, it shows a lack of ethics and just how slimy dbags like that are

Anyhow, that's my soapbox regarding the whole Derek thing. I'd have banned him as well.

EDIT:
I'd also like to note, that just from a personal perspective. I'm about as liberal as it gets when it comes to free speech and individual rights. I take those rights very seriously. I also firmly believe another individual's rights end where mine begin.
You're free (not you personally Day, but you know what I mean) to do and say as you please, but if you act a certain way (IE being a dbag) or speak a certain way (Again IE dbag and such), and are asked not to, don't be surprised when there are consequences to those actions as is the right of the other individual.
Whether that be a jack to the jaw or getting banned from a forum and such.

I thought this was a thread about the game. Seems like this is a thread about everything except the game.

Shame.

Shame.

It is about the game and yet some of the posters provide their rather negative and ill-informed opinions (not factual discourse, but opinion) about the state of a game with just over 3 years of active development and which has raised an obscene amount of money to create the game with and a company which gives pre-alpha access to a build no large game developer would ever grant access to until months before a game's release and which, following release, would eagerly provide DLC and patches at a cost after say 7 years of development.

CIG has become not only the most informative game development company but it is also taking measures to weed out the uninformed 12 year old ******* who want nothing more than to tear what it has been built done simply because they think they can. Some will say those guys are Goons, but that remains to be seen. I've met some rather decent Goons involved with RSI's forums - Beer aside. I will submit that the Goons of today are nothing like the Goons of Vile Rat's days - too bad, those Goons were worthy of respect.

Oh it is significant. It will be Robert's downfall if he doesn't live up to his backer promises.

Significant on dB level maybe, numbers not so much, the support FAR outweighs a few naysayers.

contrary to your imagination, it actually is NOT significant, again volume (the same 50 people bringing it up) does not equate to significance ( to the ove 850,000 other backers who are being patient. Controller balance won't be a priority until Beta.

It isn't imagination. It is truth. You're in denial. Joystick being balanced with mouse is critical to Star Citizen as if it is not... the majority of backers are going to be pissed off. About 70% of users, when polled said they prefer joystick.

This isn't a first person shooter. This is a space sim. Joysticks are keystone input methods of spacecraft.

It's a video game. And mouse/keyboard are the keystone input methods of games.

Star Citizen is supposed to be, per Chris Roberts, "The Best Damn Space Sim Ever."

Space Sims--and flight simulators in general, have ONE keystone input method--The Stick and Throttle.

Space Shuttle--Joystick
Aircraft--Joystick
Space Ship--well, Joystick, of course.

Parity is essential. Ignoring the joystick ignores the core, fundamental promise of the game and is grounds for suing and legal penalties.
