So on another topic.. I was morbidly curious as to what a pilot really wears. And then I found uniforms.

Haha. Seriously where did you dig these up? ^_^

BTT: PGI pretty much nailed it with the Summoner. It just looks gorgeous. It's my favourite Clan mech so far with the Stromcrow being a close second. And I'm usually not a fan of the Clan mech designs at all. I can't understand why everyone's drooling all over the place because of the Adder or Warhawk. Those two are ugly as hell (which isn't PGI's fault. Adder and Warhawk have always been ugly, no matter if you look at the TT miniatures or other video game incarnations.)

Looks great so far I'm not regretting getting the masakari pack but I dont see myself using this mech due to it's pitiful armament thus far unless things change.

It looks good, for a Clan mech, but no matter how much the Summoner/Thor wants to look like its older idol, the Thunderbolt, it will never be a Thunderbolt and will therefore be inherently inferior. That is all. ^_^

Those are on sarna.

The funniest thing I learned from this is, don't trust a Davion, they not only try to steal your designs, they also steal your pants! Good thing we're currently allies, so even if we have crappy uniforms, we can at least keep our pants! Heck, they even robbed the FRR of their whole uniforms!

Don't forget that you can swap hardpoints via the omnipod system they say they're going to implement. So you could theoretically get more/better hardpoints than the base prime variant.

What? You mean I could get ballistic in both arms? This means the Warhawk could get LRM with 2 energy in both arms?

While not 100% (clear) set in stone: Imagine the omnimechs as toys that you can pop the arms and shoulders off and attach to other toys of the same model. IE You could snap the right arm off a Warhawk Prime and give it the Right arm from a Warhawk "Alt-B" so it could mount a Gauss Rifle instead of two erppcs there.

Missile launcher is a tad bit too big imo... Other than that, It looks pretty good, I even like the bubble cockpit...

My major issue is that the mech only has 3 hard points.........

But then there is no need for a Timber Wolf, I could build the same with a Warhawk and had 10 tons more.

Right arm of the Mad Cat is the only one that has any useful ballistic slots in it, from the B and the C. CT of it has that MG on the prime.

Then why do we get 3 variants in the packages? We cant change the engine nor the armor anyway, all we need are those toy arms to plug in. The skill system could easily be adjusted.

The eternal dilemma. Do I take an extra heat sink to keep the cockpit comfortable or do I take off my pants and put an extra ton of ammo on my mech. In the end, its not even close.

I really need a reason. Why, other than a few pretty pixels, should I pony up another $180, and get the Mad Cat + 7 package for $210. The specs on this mech are kinda laughable, not to mention, shouldn't these be the CERPPC, CLRMS, and CLB10X? I really want to get into this game, play more than a couple games every few days. But it's just so... inconsistent. Some games everything seems to run smoothly, others, Hit-reg issues, lag, and repetitive, lame maps, just drive me bonkers. I WANT to spend more money here, I just can't. And graphics without substance ain't getting it done...

All they're selling is early access to the mech, if you don't feel that is worth the price they will be available for cbills in a few months.

Its already been stated that Clan and IS technology will not be mixed so it is unnecessary to distinguish them from each other. Here ER PPC means the Clan ER PPC because that is the only ER PPC available to the Summoner.

Well yes, but I will still need to buy MC and mech bays, and assuming current pricing sticks, I'm guessing 3 mad cats will cost about 60 mil cbills to properly equip. At my current average of 120,000 cbills per game, that would take me a year........ 500 games! YIKES

Mech bays are pretty reasonably priced. And hopefully since the mechs themselves are being brought in line with IS the cost will be brought in line too. Otherwise my Dire Wolf is going to hurt at 30 million a pop.

Awww what a Babe that Mech is. I'm really thinking about getting one... (allthough i have no money ;)).

So far I'm quite happy with the Clan Mechs design. Maybe the MadCat needs some redesign but overall I'm impressed :D

Armor type can't be changed, armor values can be.

Also, each of the three variants we'll get on release would have their own quirks. Not to mention that some variants are so similar to what we will have, they won't be released, but the pods will be.
