I'm fairly certain that only the base config's DHS will be hardwired. For the Prime, you'll almost certainly be able to strip out the 7 extras (just like you could strip out the Prime's ammo and weapons, because none of those are hardwired either).

Well the Dire Wolf B only uses the base 15 DHS. So they can't make any more hardwired and still follow the construction rules they've set while also keeping the stock configurations the same. Also, all the crazy builds generally are based on the B's hardpoints anyways.

As for placement the Dire Wolf had 2 in the engine, 1 in each side torso, and 1 in the left leg. With standard armor and standard internal structure there is nothing else to eat up space in those side torso. In fact with the hard wired DHS, the 2 engine crits, and a UAC20 there would still be two crits left over for whatever in the torso.

Thanks!

Chain fire will be a must since I can't exepct Paul to miss LB20X stacking when he has ghost heat in game. Hopefully Slugs will have ammo shortages to worry about aswell.

6xBallistic and 8xEnergy with B's side torsos and Primes arms will be the most common loadout. The dangerous bit is that those ballistics are very well distributed, 2 per side torso and 1 per arm, which is almost ideal.

Is it bad, that I want 2 LBX, 4MG and a lot of WUB on that? (I am willing to bet WUWUB get s lot more love in Clan Mechs when people compare heat and burn duration and figure out that they likely won't be able to stick as much as they think. (Still feel anyone thinking the Nova Prime will be usable stock, is in for a shock)

In the MWO Heat Simulator you can a group of 6 MLs 4 times in a row without over heating. An alpha strike is obviously a insta-nuke. I plan on replacing 6 of the ERMLs with ERSLs or SPLs to avoid ghost heat.

This is assuming the Heat Simulator is valid for Clan tech. And obviously using MLs instead of ERMLs. But it gives a rough picture of how it will work.

that's the problem. Also, during beam duration you lose no heat, so longer beam times could cause a much longer cooling cycle. I'd rather go 6 MPL with what we know so far (which is admittedly not much) than like 10 ERML, because chances are good, you will only realistically be able to use 5 a cycle, anyhow. Add in what could be a not insignificant difference in beam duration, I think you will land more DoT, eat less return abuse and potentially cool faster (due to starting off cooler and having a shorter duration before starting to cool again).

True. We just need more information. Meta be damned, I put 7 MPLs on my T-bolt 5SS and it's nasty up close. Watch out!

Okay, so it does look a bit better in-game, although the airplane nose is still out of proportion.

Looking at my TT mini, nose sticks out on it about as much IMO but then again that's from "comparing", if you will, a physical object to a 2d picture.

and the carport over the cockpit is ridiculous, but th eother proportions do not look near as bad.

When will PGI learn to take a decent "Fist Pic"?
(you know, there's that saying about first impressions for a reason. Why set things up for disappointment, especially if it actually DOESN't Look as bad?) I'll bet most of us would even be less upset over the oval nose, if the proportions had not been so egregious in the first shot. Sadly, it makes it hard not to look for and notice the nose, now.

stick out is fine. It's how wide, oval and goodyear blimp it looks. And the Shelf on itp's head. Either you are going to eject toward your enemy, or things are gonna get VERY painful......

(Oh wait, that's right, we don't have ejection seats!)

I think the clan skin's sloping lines on the nose exacerbates how odd the head looks. Looks good with the other skins. That being said, the head is still quite a bit bigger than it should be by the concept art.

Phase 2 is at 100%.. and if you hover over the rewards it lists them now. Not sure if that's a mistake or not.. but we get poly colours phase 2, a in game mug phase 3 and a sonic boom warhorn phase 4.

Clan LB-20X are 9 crit slots by the way so they can't be mounted in the side torso, with 8 slots free.

Those pictures look better. Hood still seems too far forward and maybe a little too tall.

probably it's best shot, and the bookshelf on it's head and funky chin/goatee are still bothersome, though less so.

Who the hell will keep that LRM anyway? 4x UAC5, 2xER Large Pulse, 18 DHS and a fuckton of ammo will take up all my slots anyway

For the same reason a lot of Atlases carry an LRM. To help keep heads down and to have something to shoot while you inch your way forward at 48kph.

It's not like Clan LRMs take up much space, or weigh much.

Can I switch it's arms so that weapons get higher than the hood? :P
