While I guess I'm full of BS because I also have to wait out the LRM battle that take place at the beginning of a match. It's even worst in groups. When my son and I are trying to enjoy some matches, we end up against a LRM group complete with light spotters, players with narc, and a lance of biggies just waiting for you to try and take out their friend LRMers. If you think I'm full of it then just run with me anytime guy! This game if it is going to make it, it needs to have different skill levels. It's just way to hard for the noobs! The more advanced players just love to catch a noob out in the open for a easy kill, without realizing that they might just be biting the hand that feeds it. We need different skill levels bad! Let the mid level player deal with the LRM spam instead! They are much better equipped to deal with it, and are also far less likely to quit the game!

Nerf teamwork.

No way! Just move it up a level. Is that so much to ask for? Please don't start with the learn to play, as I've been fighting cancer for over 15 years and have nerve damage from all the chemo, stem cell transplants, pain killers etc. I find the remark very rude and uninformed.

Got much of a complex? You were complaining that you were in the group queue with a small group.

Well guess what, if they were all using large lasers and SRMs they are STILL a bigger group, and they are going to roll you harder with more effective weapons.

Made no comment that was either rude OR uninformed, YOU brought up your health status.

IMO the real problem is that the maps are way too small. I still think the missiles travel way to fast but the tiny maps make LRMS an enjoyment killer. Most matches basically are hiding behind the same old hills and rocks that everyone knows where to hide. The time counts down players get bored and move around a little and then get hit by LRM spam until death.

If hiding and dodging missiles for several minutes is your idea of fun, then yes I am playing the wrong game. I think this is very boring game play. I can only do maybe 2 or 3 drops in a month because how boring this game has become.

IMO PGI needs to stop f@@@ing with weapons and enlarge the maps. Add objective points to go and fight over for cbills. Creating variations of the maps we have know would help.

Until anything is done to fix the boring game play I will continue to hold back my money. I have dropped about six hundred bucks on planet side at this point in comparison to 200$ for MWO. I'm a legendary founder who can no longer find one reason to play this game longer then 30 minutes. To bad to, considering I'm dying to throw money at PGI for a FUN game to play on my down time. ;)

No I was taking about LRM's here. I didn't say that you were being rude, I was trying to nip that in the bud before someone said it, that's all. Likewise with the LTP as well. I was talking about a LRM based team, not about they were bigger. Yes they could been full of snipers instead, but they weren't. Have you ever been hit by LRM 180?

I think you are bored because of the lack of variation in the maps.
the selection is quite limited.

I'm guessing you mean newb (new player), not noob (bad player).

It isn't the "more advanced players" that are using LRM's to kill newbs. It's newbs killing newbs.

Also, how exactly are mid level players "better equipped to deal with it"? It has nothing to do with equipment, it's knowing how to move around a map whilst using terrain as cover.
But tbh, if someone isn't willing, or can't learn to play i'd rather they quit than get the game nerfed for them.

Not to mention a few that are FLAT OUT too small for 12 v 12. Forrest Colony was small in 8s.....there is simply no saving River City, the artwork is pretty, but it needs to be completely redone.

Maybe not playing the wrong game, but definitely playing the game wrong.

Just for the record, I do agree that LRM's are not as strong as the other weapon types. When you have 2-4 mechs boating them, that's when they become very powerful. Just like a firing squad.

I played in CB when you could count on there being 3 LRM mechs (out of 8), no ECM and the only maps were Forrest Colony, Caustic, and Frozen City.....the LRMs were faster, did about 45% more damage and had a sharper down arc.

I've dodged more missiles than you can fathom.

And there should never be a complaint when they are used this way. Massed fire is meant to be deadly.

Koniving

hit the nail on the head.

as for my two cents, I dont feel that I should have to react my builds and playstyle to suit the months flavor of LRM spam, Im not going to drop millions on modules, and AMS as described already is a useless waste of tonnage.

Lrms arent over powered but they do need a fix ******* pronto

More than a few times. Its part and parcel of massed fire.

One way PGI (more specifically, PAUL) can make LRMs effective, yet less frustrating for newbies to face, is to nerf GECM functionality to that of canon GECM, remove indirect fire for LRMs except by TAG and NARC (NARC is cancelled by ECM), and increase the LRM speed and range to compensate.

But this is real life and we cannot have good things.

I was hit simultaneously by 3 Clan LRM boats due to bad positioning in Frozen City. I slowly strolled down to cover with my 60 kph speed, laughing all the way, with my Dual AMS STK-5S. My armor was yellow all around but no breach anywhere. Had I been caught by 3 FLD mechs, you can be sure my torsi would have been opened badly.

I actually didn't think it was possible to be hit by 180 LRM's...or 100 for that matter.

So 3 LRM60 mechs...is the equivalent of standing infront of an AC loaded down DW...
to really pull that off you're looking at 3 85 ton mechs. Meaning 255 tons.....

yep...OP alright....

Let me put it this way.

"Missiles Incoming" warning does not cause me even the least of concern unless I am running this build. ;)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...010b2c0c41ef1cc

So yeah, LRMs are far from nerf worthy.
