I've got 2 I'm currently experimenting with:
Critbuster KFX: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1721d2c0bf991fc
C-LB5-X + C-SRM2 + 2 C-MGs + 2 C-SPLs + 2JJ
Designed as an agile flanking and ambush 'Mech. Stays out of combat until it gets an opportunity to strike at a priority target by destroying exposed components. Has enough crit potential to destoy Assault STs in a matter of seconds.

ECM KFX: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f532e801913788e
3 C-SPLs + 2 C-MGs + 6JJs
An intelligence 'Mech that provides ECM and AMS coverage to a group of 'Mechs at the front line. Mostly sticks behind to not get caught up in the crossfire, but can hold its ground against enemies with exposed components and chase off light harassers. Extremely agile to act as a scout, quickly reposition itself or to engage combat as a quick harasser.

I've tired of the Large Lasers and decided to give NARC a spin - I call this one "in and out". I know I should have slapped another weapon on the left arm, but I feel the extra 2 DHS allow me to be more trigger happy with the ppc, and to compensate for my low hit rate with it.

Do you think changing the left arm to a -s and going tag/narc on that arm would help? Would make it easier to tag opposing ECM mechs.

Pretty much any kit fox with the C arm and ECM on it is alright. It's a pretty good idea to start with that and go from there.

On a side note, if you mount CUAC/2s in the KFX-S side torsos, you can actually see them above you when you're piloting it, and that's freakin' neat.
sure does and helps aiming

I realized the Clan AMS ammo actually provides twice as many rounds as IS AMS ammo. Dropped half of it and maxed out the Armor.

This is what I threw together today:

SRMx24 (7.5 tons ammo)
MGx2 (1/2 ton ammo)

http://i.imgur.com/oA7bV0k.jpg

it's fun. Sorta brawls like a medium, holds up pretty well with almost max armor, but takes up a light spot in MM. People were aghast that I didn't bring ECM, but I figure if I was going to bring ECM I'd be infinitely more useful in a speedy spider that could relocate and ****

i rarely bring the "C" arm. and I like the SRM24 or SRM18+MPL

Simple yet effective;

Gauss Rifle w/ 3 tonnes of ammo
2 ERSmall Lasers OR 1 ER Medium.

Works rather effectively, I've been able to score 500-600 average damage games and keep exceptional range. I dont get many kills, but I support my team to victory ^^

ECM + 3cERMLs+UAC5 (2.5T ammo). Will fit with a couple jump jets and full armor, and it works great. Just buddy up with a couple of big dogs on your team and wail on whatever they're shootng at. Plays just like the Cicada 3M with that build...

Here are 3 of my favorite builds, I displayed them in a video. There's probably better ones, but these are the ones that feel best for me

Copy paste of the description for convenience:

Build 1: SRM24 MG2. Brawler [Would only recommend for fun]
Build 2: CUAC5 ERMLa3 ECM. Dakka support. The most durable, because the high ballistics hardpoint lets you show only a little of yourself [I think this build is the best, because the high hardpoint solves the survivability issue. Feels like playing a baby hunchback]
Build 3: 2LPL 1ERMLa ECM. Escort support. Follow your fatties around with this, wubwub lights and provide suppressive fire, as well as a comfy ECM blanket [I choose pulses over ERs because there is less heat, and they serve much better in close quarters, but they can still shoot out to 1K if you need to harass]

I've changed my viewpoint since that post 8) After I saw my spider had a 2.0 W/L, I decided ECM was pretty darn worth it. Still rock the SRMs once in a while though

I just bought the kitfoxes for c-bills and they're my first clan mech. Can someone explain omnipods? What do they do other than XP boost? Should I be changing those a lot? I'm running the default builds right now just learning the mech, but I know those are sub optimal.

they let you load out your mech in unique ways without having to buy a new chassis ... say you want an arm with ECM instead of an arm with missiles, you take the missile arm off and put the ECM arm on

hmm I see. so is there any point to owning more than one KFX chassis after you've mastered the skill tree? seems like you could put all -S parts or whatever on a prime chassis, and not need to take up extra mechbays?

Can someone clarify this? The post has one 'like' so I know at least one other person is interested. Thanks.

Yes, once mastered you don't really need more than one config because of the omnipod system (unless you like to have multiple loadouts ready to go). All omnipods can be swapped between any config EXCEPT the center torso, as this is how the skill tree determines what config you are using. So in the instance of the Kitfox, you can use the -S side torsos and legs on any config to allow a maximum of 6 JJs. Hope this helps ;)

Skills are tied to the 'torso' pod.
You will need to skill up 3 foxes, but you only need one set of arm/sidetorso/legs.
Buy the C arm first to get the ECM....yay.
Yeah you will need 3 bays if leveling simultaneously.

i think I found my build, finally, today.

C arm: ECM + ML
S RT: LBX-5
Prime L-arm: 2MPL

2 tons lbx ammo

loving it, cutting off lots of appendages and components.

really wish you could get a second one in the S-LT....it would be fantastic.

After experimenting with different sets of arms and weapons, including the C arm and ECM, I have settled on this:
- Complete KFX-S omnipod set
- Right arm Large Pulse + ER Med Laser
- Torso sides 2 MG + half ton of ammo, 1 additional double heatsink, Mk II Targeting Computer
- Left arm SSRM 2 + half ton of ammo, ER Med Laser
- 2 Jumpjets in the legs

Main weapon is the Large Pulse together with the ER Meds since they match very well in beam duration and range behaviour. The MGs and the SSRM are the close range critseekers, exploiting the holes that the lasers have punched, the Targeting Computer adds a nice % to the crit chance.
Alternatively, mount KFX-C Right Arm with ECM and ER PPC and KFX-Prime Left Arm with 2 ER Med Lasers + another double heatsink or upgrade to Targeting Computer Mk III for a more long ranged approach.
