So far, I'm liking the Nova more than the Stormcrow. That thing has so much firepower it's ridiculous. You really have to have trigger discipline though. Don't run in and try to solo multiple fresh mechs. Pick your battles and try to run with a pack.

I am an oddball but i'm trying the S with 2x LBX-2 + 6 SL....

not exactly sure why anyone would choose te LBX2 over just the AC2 or even the U/AC 2. So you sorta hope you can do 1 damage if your aim isn't super great?

i want to try an UAC20/AC20/LBX20 on it with the B arm but so little ammo with the LBX20...

ballistic wise, the Novas just don't cut it and I refuse MGs..I just hate them. Beam is really the only way to go it seems.

Novas do fine with smaller ballistics (I've had success with both UAC5 and UAC10) but it doesn't have the tonnage for the heavier guns.

Check my B loadout above for a good example of a solid Ballistic Nova build.

By far the best variant I've come up with is 6 ER ML, 6 ER SL, and 4 MG. You have your ML to close the gap (max effective range 900m) which the 12 SL builds people talk about don't have. You have enough heatsinks and cooling to fire all 6 ML three times before overheating. Once you close said gap, strictly use your SL and MG because you literally cannot overheat firing 6 SL. And anyone not running at least 2 (if not 4 because they're only .25 tons each) MG, is ludicrous. Your pin point damage opens up those crit slots and the MG's shred them like no one's business. Try it. I promise you'll love this build.

C -UAC5 in left torso, using the right torso that has AMS (NVA-A), Nova Prime arms because as noted in this post, under Omnipod Quirks.

i've had no luck in this thing other than loading up 12SL. i've tried 6 ml-6sl, 3 ml-9sl, 9 SL + LL, 12SL + aC2, and i just die...

12-13 SLs in 4 groups and chain fire I just do well....Like having the extended range weapon just leads me to do stupid things and the long burn times of MLs is just too weird for me. least with SL you can group and link fire up to 6 no problem if you want a lot of front load damage but i think the chain fire is throwing out more damage faster or at least it seems that way.

so close to basic level on all 3 and cant wait to get speed tweak.

[aside] Oh Hai Jade Pidgeon!! When did you get back? hah!

[cough] Anyhoo...

For my Prime I'm running 4 erMLas on one trigger (in one arm), 4 mids in the other arm, and 4 smalls split over both arms (3rd trigger).
Whomever less than three'd the Laserback and Fastjack will have no problems with this mech.

Here is what I've come up with

NVA PRIME : stock , good as is
NVA B : no idea
NVA S : NVA-A mod2

Or NVA-A mod1

Edit: I don't see the benefit of pulse atm over beam...since I already have the prime, I'll use it if I want a nova with beams...the S just has less beams so....to differ it I made the "A"

The B I'm not sure what to do with, I have better options for ballistic than the Nova....I guess if I'm only playing the Nova for a session maybe....

I won't claim my build are any good but i run them as follows currently:

PRIME: 8ML + 4 additional DHS
B: AC5 + PPC both torso
S: 6ML + 4MG + AMS

I didn't change any omnipods so far.

I like to keep it simple, 12 ERSL & 4MG.

2T of MG Ammo.

Fill with DHS.

Jump over buildings an pop peoples face off!

LB 10-X, Small Lasers, Machine Guns
Haven't played it yet, but I'll try it out tonight. I like the LB-X over clan AC's, we'll see how this build works against beat up mechs.

LB 5-X, Medium Lasers, Small Lasers, Machine Guns
Same as above, except more ammo, better DPS, and greater range.

Stock Prime > Put in S Torsos > Put in 4MGs, 1T ammo.
Enjoy your power.

Fire one arm at a time, manage your heat, use machine guns while hot.
You need to stick with other mechs to cover you though, and basically wreck face while doing it.
