So if you were using something like this you may have done even better, since it's faster, has a bigger alpha, more damage per heat, much more range, more heat sinks, jump jets to get up hills, etc. etc. etc.

Then again maybe you would have died halfway through if you were ridge humping your way through the match, but it's hard to know.

You're kidding right?

It's wider, CT is huger than that of a Stalker (in fact it's about the size of the STK CT PLUS half an ST). Energy mounts are too low for ridge humping, and the missile bays stick out too much above the mech.

That's what I managed to put together for why it's flawed right off the top of my head.

What I know about a 1500 damage match is that it's rare even for fantastic players in fantastic mechs. The difference between an 800 damage match and a 1500 damage match is that in the latter, for whatever reason, the enemy was not looking at you. You got to walk around unloading every ounce of firepower you had while your team mates took all the incoming fire, and you probably aimed pretty meh — splashing your damage all over your targets instead of drilling through the CT or ST. It was a glorious show of skill, firepower, and plenty of luck.

iraqiwalker, my usual loadouts are brawl heavy, my cent runs lbx, streaks and med lasers, my dragon runs ac20, meds, smalls (for heat) and my atlas rolls med pulse ac20 3 srm 6 arti. each of these mechs can put out alot of hurt but i can rarely bring anything of similar size down and have always had issues where lighter mechs seem to shrug off firepower.

(now just as a little thing before people start telling me its my rig. i have a radeon HD7790, a 3.6 quadcore processor and 8 gig of ddr3 ram. so its far from being a poor rig and with good broadband its not shabby on latency)

ok i couldnt stand to read every last bit of this posting because people with clan tech are saying NOPE everythings just peachy....when your medium mechs can tank more firepower then an assault you look at that and say holy balls i'm unreasonably powerful.

allow me to just put up one little example according to smurfy

clan er medium laser...5 heat, 7 damage, 450 range, 1 ton
Sphere large laser... 7 heat, 9 damage, 450 range, 5 ton

do i need to say more....your standard weapon is better in every way than our heaviest beam weapon with one exception...the large laser has less beam-on time by .65 seconds....

.65 seconds oh my oh my what a horrendous drawback...may i just say you have a medium with 12 of the things, who cares about beam on time when you can regularly beast out much more dps (using good heat management obviously) or completely murder someone with a point alpha of death.

sorry clan boys, in my oppinion your stuff has broken this game, its not fun when you cant hope to stand up to a mech one on one and heavens forbid it if you find a lance of the things.

<- Does not own and never will own a single Clan mech.
<- Does not really think the clan stuff is overpowered, right now.

But again, we can't really know for sure until we are seeing 100% IS teams vs. 100% Clan teams.

And if I were a clan player? I'd be pissed that all my shiny toys aren't so shiny, quite frankly.

Maybe you ought to try a different style, because others excel where you seem to be struggling. You may find another way to play more fitting for your talents.

I prefere the brawl style but i used to play my part as a fsat flanker, mostly because of the way i believed the dragon should be played, then the original siesmic turned up and put an end to any tactical maneuvering so i switched to a heavier dueling style.

i've tried being long range support but i'm a poor shot at long distances and i've tried lrm support but unless i have either a good team or a sneaky little spotter friend i get no where with it.

as of my general thread posts.....i've dropped in a few more matches and all i can say is this......walked round a corner in my centurion to a timberwolf who was looking the other way, he turned alpha'd and my side torso and center torso had no armour on them, shortly after this his mates turned up and finished me off.

Ok, so far everything seems fine. Those set ups are capable of bringing down anything they see. Your ping is under 150 I assume. Only explanation I can think of is you're engaging around corners and some of your shots are going into invisible walls. Otherwise you should be dropping any mech, if you can hit it.

Also, for the record, clan mechs have the exact same armor values as inner sphere mechs of the same weight.

The rig would never be the problem as that only deals with graphics, the hit registrations and damage readouts are all based on the internet connection. My FPS is at 23 on the very best of days, and I still drop them. Only reasons I can see for you not killing these mechs are either internet connection, or invisible walls.

The only downside to CLANS is that they are kind of inconvenient? (low arms, slow, low torso movement)

HA!

I take all those in a second for packing the heat that clans pack. Heck! I saw a timberwolf today that had my Christmast shopping list for weapons! He had more weapons on that mech that I did amunition!

Is it odd that I tried Clan UAC20s and Clan LBX20s and immediately went back to that 14 ton piece of crit-hogging IS tech? Sure the clans can definitely bring the pain, but I just find that big meaty *chunk* of the weapon firing and seeing a massive shell rip someone's side off to be so much more cathartic.

On a side note, I personally hope the IS autocannons don't get changed to burst. Not because it will spread the damage more, but because I ******* loath burst fire weapons. This is part of the reason why I never bought into the UAC5 meta when it was truly annoying. Now with the clans doing it almost all the damn time, I pretty much can't escape it!

GO right ahead. I'll still circle strafe and dismantle you in an Ember.

I really wanted IS ACs to switch to burst, however, I think they should keep it as a single shell, because it offers character, and makes for a nice distinction between IS tech and Clan tech.

None of this really matter until the grand designs PGI had... err, has... planned for MWO. Does it?

Nicely done.

I'll still be able to do the same with my Commando, not a pay to win mech, and definitely not meta OP competitive. Or with my Locust.

Your Cent can't focus damage on a single component if it's life depended on it, Dragons are bottom-tier heavies (although you have the right idea), and your Atlas should be doing fine.

Clan 'Mechs damage just like IS ones- that is, your TTK should be almost the same. If they're reaming you, it's because you're a child of the FLD era and never learned how to spread damage.

The only time you should be pointed face on to a Clanner is when you're firing- and Atlases are especially good at that. Boom go the SRMs/AC - turn away and take hits on an arm. Reload. Point and shoot. Repeat.

There isn't a Clanner that breaks anywhere near the point of being IS-light agile. You shouldn't miss much at all, and the last decent Atlas pilot I was with ended up with 5 kills and over 1K damage, leaving a lance's worth of Clan heavy/assaults wrecked in the process.

$240 packs? is this due to certain mechs being seen a lot?
you can actually buy any clan mech by itself for $55 I think , or there about.

55$ and then the price goes down if you order a few others a la carte.

Also, this happened to me last night:
River city day, dropped with my friend (his first time in MW:O, so I was helping him out) ON1-K. Spawned in lower city opposite the citadel. Moved to upper. Hid behind the buildings for a while. Charged the enemy, ran into a T-Wolf between the buildings down below. We brawled for exactly 5 seconds before he ran away after taking to alphas into his CT (AC20+4ML+SRM4), and I kept on twisting away from most his damage. He turned and ran away.

Started giving chase, when I turned a corner and there was another fresh T-Wolf. Started wailing on him as well, at this point most of my armor was almost gone. His mech starts getting wrecked, and a THIRD T-Wolf shows up. I start dancing around with the two of them when I start backing out, turn around, and there's the huge back of an Atlas DDC, who proceeds to turn around, and fires a full alpha (AC20+3SRM6+2LL) right into me. I lost my missiles and 2 of my MLs. At this point, both T-Wolves are now on top of buildings firing at me, along with the Atlas who procceds to blow my right arm (barely shielded my side torso) I manage to fire one last AC20 round into his CT, and then explode.

1 Orion with only basics, vs. 3 T-Wolves and an Atlas DDC. THAT was possibly the most epic fight for me in that Orion. I dealt maybe 400 damage total to (roughly 100 to each mech, mostly Pin point to the CT) The T-Wolf pilots were good. They tried using their mobility to gain an advantage on me, but in the clustered buildings near the landing pad where my speed was more than enough, it gave them no advantage, as I made sure they were never more 100 meters away from me, and with mediocre torso twisting (I am not that good at it), I managed to chase off almost a full lance by my lonesome (well, I had an AC 20 smacking people in the CT every time). Of course, I died because I did the stupid thing, and charged solo. The match ended in a tie by the way. It was probably my third tie in all my MW:O career.
