So. I've Figured It Out. The Clans Really Are Over-Powered.*

I would suggest thought that they make another pass over IS mechs. The Clan mechs have taken advantage of what they have learned but many IS mechs are still not worth playing. Fix the Awsomes for example. Simple heat quirk does it I think. And maybe some added agility. Maybe fix the Victor and Highlander turning. And over all take another pass on the IS mechs to even things out some.

Also, what do you describe lasers as then? Because you see many people complain that IS ACs are Pinpoint FLD whilst lasers are DoT.
Since burst damage is NOT instantaneous, it can be spread, Thus it is DoT. Sorry man.
Got links? Cuz I can tell you many other top tier players who have no issue with it. (of course I could also see where Poptarts would complain as it does seem the Clans are more effective against Meta than not)
Of course, here you go. Niko from PGI is there too.

A Direwolf with a million UAC2 and UAC5s will win in a straight up, toe to toe shoot-out against an IS mech, from what I can tell. I used to run a few Atlas and Victor mechs with small engines and lots of ballistics, and on paper, they seem inferior to the Clan assault mechs. In reality, I'll probably still do ok with them, but that's at least partially because I have an average skill level, and there are Clan players out there with below average skills.
However, that's _all_ that dire wolf does, and no (well built) IS mech is required to play its game.
And that was Bishop's whole point in this thread. Clan mechs do have more firepower, but its nature requires them to continue facing their targets longer. This leaves them vulnerable to precision strikes that IS mechs are not so vulnerable to. Skill can trump the clan advantage, but not so much the IS advantage. So, at lower levels of play, clan tech appears more powerful, but that advantage is readily negated.

Interesting, they are also talking about how outclassed the Clan Lights are...how the Lasers have too long a burn duration.
In other words...... there are indeed tweaks to be made (both buffs and nerfs). Not really the same as "OP" or "P2W".

And yes, CLAN STREAKS NEED TO HAVE NO NERFS WHATSOEVER, BUT RATHER THEY NEED TO HAVE A HUGE COOLDOWN BUFF!

And about how ridiculously overpowered the ERSL currently is.
P2W is an expression I don't like. It's P2getatemporaryadvantage. Whether that's good or not is what we are all debating right now.
Financially I assume it is great for the dev team. We don't see buyers remorse, like we had with alot of Phoenix purchases. Those where not stronger or weaker than existing mechs, hence some players where angry.

I played 11 hours today. 11 hours. I was playing my Battlemasters to fill out their Basic efficiencies and I got the main one up to Elite 4/4. I also leveled my DDC to Master to round it off. Not once did I ever think that clan mechs were unfair. Most of my headshots are from Timberwolves (the new catapult?) and I have no qualms about walking straight up to a Direwolf and punching it in the face.

True, and I do believe, for reasons pointed out, that while there ARE individual weapons that are out of whack, in general, what it comes down to mostly is that the Clans are successfully so DIFFERENT people either want them now, don't know how to handle them, etc.
But they are also cursed with hitbox issues, and other things. End of the day, most players do not want to have to change their approach. Clans do force one to do so.

Also, yes, the ER Small needs to have it's heat nerfed...it is supposed to have 3 pts heat, not 2. That 12 pt heat differential, especially when multiplied by Ghost Heat, is huge. And should be addressed.

Yet in most matches, I have seen the non optimal IS builds do way better than the Poptarts. I think it might be time for some of them to sit back and realize different tech, different strategy. Of course, I trust they will eventually, you don't stay on top by wearing blinders, but you do often get a little complacent and arrogant until something forces you to change your PoV.
