Has The 3,3,3,3 Concept Failed?

with people claiming to see 5 assaults or 6 heavies on one team and less number of the other team pretty much nullifies the whole idea of 4X3 model that PGI was going about. and by reading enough comments i am getting the idea that it is not working as they thought it should have. now in the patch notes they said that the current MM is the most complex backend they have got right now but if thats the case why is the 4X3 model not working?? is it one of the reasons below?
1. not enough players
2. its a failed concept which wont work.
so what are your views about it. i would prefer to read comments from people who have experienced the game since the patch last night, this can give a decent idea about the 4X3 model and if its a success or failure..

Until they have some incentive rewards for using the lower used classes I don't expect the players are going to change.

SO basically, it will TRY to build a match using 3 of each weight class, while at the same time trying to balance Elo.
So far this is working as intended.
Right now the group queues feel awesome. Had many really fun matches in groups tonight. However, solo players have once again gotten the shaft...some of the worst solo PUG matches I've had in months. I mean it was bad for the last couples weeks since the last patch, but now playing solo is HORRENDOUS because it seems like it's not even trying to match the Elo scores of the 2-4-man groups that get thrown into the "solo" queue.

Most matches do follow quad 3. My goodness that changes the game so much right there.
And the group queue was not the miserable stompfest I had expected. Those matches were pretty tight and overall fun. Again no stomps.
I played quite a few games in 2 and 3 mans. They were the best matches of the night.
It could have been just a lucky run, but the whole night was soooo much more fun and consistent. I did not even groan once at the teams. And thats saying something, lol.

You had a 30 minute wait time since today's patch?
I'd contact support. Not seen a long search since the patch went into effect at all today. Most are under a minute in group and solo queue....Admittedly, I've only played....38 matches thus far, but it's been very consistent.
Additionally, everytime we've had more than 3 of a weight class, opponent team had the exact same "overage" in composition. It may not be 4x3 but it is certainly better than one side with 6-7 and one side with 0-1.

Play a light/medium, you will find a match FAST...sitting in the queue with a TW like every other shmoe is not going to get you a match fast...heavy mechs were 40% of the queue most of the night...

What did you pilot? I am guessing a heavy since they seem to be most polular (hi Timber Wolf/CTF 3D) and would logicaly have the longest waiting times, tho 30 min sounds like hyperbole unless there is a network issue somewhere.

I don't mean to blow my own whistle when i say this but; I have a pretty high elo not SJR or Proton level but high enough that I end up waiting ages when I want to play my puging 'Mech meaning my Shadowhawk. And if I want to play a light 'Mech I wait longer. The thing is for us higher end guys we have to wait ages to find games atm because the advent of the "bigger than 4man drops patch".

Nope If I play those 'Mechs I get a game faster, waaaaay faster.

Well, I've played 20 matches or so, and no wait times for me. Good matches too (my experience at any rate). I'd submit a ticket.

Ah, its an Elo issue then. Yeah I can imagine really good solo players getting the shaft in this since most people at "the top" run in groups and those will now probl. be put in the group queue as a a priority to fill out that before being sent to the solo queue (if they run in 2-4 peopel groups) meaning high Elo solos will have to wait forever for the MM to expand the search limit into the higher stratosphere of the scale.

HALF AN HOUR??
PUH-LEEEEEZ. Even the best players in the game were getting matches within 5 minutes or less...and in most cases within 60 seconds.

It's funny I'm finding games faster at 3 AM my time then peak hours.

That was my longest wait time of the day. I'd wait about 5-7min most of the time.
