Does that necessarily mean it is true.
take yourself back to ancient Aztec times. It was their viewpoint that a sacrifice was needed to make the sun rise and set.to them that was a fact. What can you say about that?
I do not like using extremities but sometimes they are a must, and that is an opinion.
100% of the time after they made the sacrifice the Sun DID rise and set for a long time.
50% of the times after they made that sacrafice they had bountiful crops and won their wars and had many many more children
So in their opinion, based on what they understood and believed from PERCEIVED FACTS, the gods were happy. So in their opinion their viewpoint was VALID. It is only today, Centuries later, when mankinds understanding of the universe has grown in leaps and bounds that we have PROOF OF FACTS that could counter their viewpoints. Unlike these forums where we are all drawing from the same basic pool of data to forum our opinions from.
What were the beliefs of the Maya and the Inca in the same time period and who had the same data to draw from as the Aztec? They were similar, not exactly the same but close. What does it say when there are several groups who all come to a similar opinion based on the facts at hand? Don't cherry pick the info you are going to use to try and prove a point, you fail every time.
I did just find the other thread where you started all this opinion stuff, all I can say is wow, just wow, and not a good wow. I'll even go so far as to quote SIX from the BSG mini series when she was talking to Baltar in the brig, "we really need to map that brain of yours" It would serve as a source for unlimited speculation for centuries to come, but then again speculation is just another method for how people form their own opinions isn't it.
I bet you even take that last paragraph as a personal attack as well, even though it's not.
