Poptarting - Staying behind cover, jumping just to the level when you can shoot behind cover and the fall back to cover. NOthing, other than FLD PP build has chance of returning fire punishing full damage. (MWOnized OP form of Jumpsniping)
Jump sniping - Using airborn maneuver to get higher, gaining firing advantage over exposing youself to potentional return fire
(tactic with advantage and disadvantage)
At the end, i must conclude, that MWO system of JJ functionality is broken. Always was. Once again i must say, that MWLL JJ system was perfect comparing to one in MWO, because it negated poptarting, and promoted actual jumpsniping. It even gave you movement advantage.
So imo.
Thrust should be (imho) super fast, faster than it is, faster than it was. Even one single tap of JJ (key to poptart) would elevate you higher than you wanted exposing yourself behind cover long enough even for people with Lasers (long duration) to have chance of punishing you with their full damage.
Please PGI, why did you Slightly nerfed poptarting, yet OVER NERFED jump sniping, and jump brawling. You even overnerfed the movement advantage.
At the end i must agree with creator of this topic. Each fix = more screwing
