I love all the previous suggestions .In addition, a few of my own if they havn't been mentioned.

1. Banzai tree for the Draconis Combine folks.
2, Hotplate with a can of soup or similar on it. This would heat up when your mech does and make the soup boil.
3, Plastic Jesus. (I don't care if it rains or freezes. Not sure if this is in universe or not)
4, One of those plastic gozillas that shoots sparks.
5. Spotlight. (like you see on cop cars, sticking through the window, with a handle inside to aim it. Actually making it usable is unnecessary. It can even look broken.)
6. Mjolnir pendant hanging somewhere for Free Rasalhague Republic fans? Or possibly norse statuary?

So how about some blending.

Faction Specific Fuzzy Dice. Red ones with the Draconis Combine symbol in place of the single pip for example.

Faction Specific Air Fresheners. A hanging blue and brown mailed fist for Steiner.

Hanging stuffed animals (of different types and colors). With or without noose.

Hanging mech plushies. (again with or without noose) for your favorite (target).

"Photos" of mechs (with or without red crosshairs or Xs or 'no' symbols).

Lots of pages here. To add weight of numbers, the following, please:

Hula girl (duh, also more options like a buddy jesus or some other action figure would be fun)
Photo (custom if possible, but if not, at least a Kerensky or some other cheesy art T&A)
MP3 player functionality (even if its not visible in the cockpit, this would be a nice feature)
Plastic dinosaurs (very yes)
Fuzzy dice (and other mirror hangers).

In terms of non-vanity, it would be nice to have some better HUD flexibility and C&C options for commanders, too. The current map icons are only usable without the info displays, which are horribly unreadable. Either distinguish light/medium/heavy/assault by location icon, or let people pick a role for their chassis in the mechlab (scout, brawler, arty, sweeper, etc.) and base the icon on that. It would be nice to have a status list in cockpit off to the side (left of the paperdoll?), with a player list of who is alive, dead, what chassis/role they're in, etc.

Lots of great ideas here ...

- Carl's Jr. Table Numbers

- The original Battledroids Box top and some cardboard cutouts lying around

- The piece of a cannon from another mech (all burnt and smoldering)

OR

- A burned/broken/smashed nero helmet from another mechwarrior

- Someone's feet up on the dashboard to the side (only visible when turning a specific direction) ... as if they're just hangin' with you in your mech as you cruise the battlefield.

- Moon/Sun Roof (of course, you'd need to be able to look up more)

- Radar Detector (only for scouts or mechs that can peak over 100mph)

On a side note, I think adding small things to the outside of the mech would also have a viable consumer potential. Bumper stickers ... c'mon ... EVERY atlai driver here wants at least one put on those swingin' cheeks they have You could run country/faction flags, Bike racks ... the list goes on ... just a thought.
