Light Mist Lynx (Top speed of 118.8 km/h)
Medium Ice Ferret (Top speed of 129.6 km/h)
Heavy Mad Dog
Assault Gargoyle

And the free one being the Hellbringer

I included top speed on the light and medium as I think that is lacking compared to Inner Sphere mechs and these will work nicely to combat those faster mechs.

This, and I agree with your reasoning on the light and medium. I'd prefer to see the Shadow Cat as the medium, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Actually, in retrospect, reverse the Maddog and Hellbringer. There's no way they'd put ECM on a pay-only Mech, so the Hellbringer needs to be the heavy and the Maddog the bonus. Either that or we won't be getting the ECM variant of the Hellbringer, and that would be sad.

Light:
Mist Lynx (because its fast and it doesn't have MASC)

Medium:
Ice Ferret (because its fast, and I can't have my Shadowcat because MASC)

Heavy:
Mad Dog probably.... even though I do have a fondness for the Cauldron Born

Assault:
Kingfisher: A fast assault 'mech (same speed as the Warhawk) with a standard engine. Has endo and ferro. Would be unique among the clan 'mechs because it doesn't have an XL.

Bonus Mech:
Crazy glow-at-night Night Gyr. Its unique optical heat sinks make it visually distinct from any other mech in the game, and make it an easy target at night. Your opponent can tell how hot you are by looking at the glow. It gets -50% environmental heat, like the hellslinger because of the unique HS. After a few months, you can buy a cbill version that includs standard DHS, as most were eventually downgraded due to parts rareness. No heat quirk, no glow, but the same otherwise.

....Hey, I can dream, right?

I do not think that the bonus 'Mech will be pay only., If it was the Hellbringer, the ECM would be behind a pay wall. If it was the Mad Dog, those who could not afford both packages would be enraged.

Clearly The Kodiak and the Mad Dog.

That is enough for me to wet my pants in excitement at wave 2.

Kodiak doesn't even have a 2nd variant within 3050 I think :( I doubt they will make up or make 2 C-bill kodiak hero mechs to help it out...

the '5th' mech won't be a pay only, if it is a completely different mech (like we thinking here), it will be the last wave 2 mech to come for C-bills and is a bonus for (instant) pre order for people who meet the requirements.

There is no way they will make a mech 100% exclusive mech. Maybe from free2play players (ie hero mechs, champion/ founders/ phoenix/ sarrah / invasion bonus mechs)

Personally I think the Mad Dog/Vulture WON"T be the bonus mech. Everyone wants it and to ensure that people buy the clan pack, I'd post it as one of the guaranteed mechs, not the bonus. I'm sure the bonus mech will be decent but probably not one of the most sought after mechs in game, just my humble opinion of course. Plus, if they advertise, they'll want to advertise the Mad Dog as the mech graphic for wave 2. What other mech that's left has the visibility that the Mad Dog does?

I would be overjoyed if the Helbringer is the bonus, on the basis of getting it first and early. :P

The Hellbringer & the Mad Dog have to come next because they were in the invasion from the beginning. The Gargoyle also has to be in & expect a Hero Mech fashioned after Ulric Kerensky seeing as he did pilot one.

I'm calling it now, the mechs will be:

LIGHT: Mist Lynx - Prime, B, C - We need a fast light, and the Dasher is straight out due to MASC. The Arctic Cheetah is an option, being produced in 3037, but not as powerful and outside of the current PGI methodology for mech division (IS - guerilla tactics, Clan - deathball and kill).

MEDIUM: Ice Ferret - Prime, B, D - While the Viper is an option, the Ice Ferret is an answer to the Cicada. The variants I chose are certainly the most varied and can provide some excellent options.

HEAVY: Ebon Jaguar - Prime, A, C - Produced in 3049, it's a newer mech, but certainly a more likely option than the Hellbringer, due to the use of A-Pods in the Hellbringer's Primary variant. Also, the Ebon Jaguar is a truly beautiful machine, with several variants possible.

BONUS HEAVY: Mad Dog - Prime, A, B - The most iconic of the heavies, this will be the mech given to the people who bought the first Clan packages. The Mad Dog can provide some very interesting options, such as the B variant with 6 SRM6.

ASSAULT: Gargoyle - Prime, A, C - The Executioner cannot be used due to MASC and I cannot find a proper Clan omnimech that would be used in this context.

I would like to bring up the option that, perhaps, Wave 2 will be second line mechs from the Clans, which will give us options like the Jenner IIC, Hunchback IIC, Grizzly, and Kodiak or Blood Kite, which will be a more interesting option than the current Clan omnis.

Don't forget the Gargoyle's speed. 86kph on an Assault 'Mech. The thing has as 400XL in it - granted the armor and pod space reflect this speed as well, but even an under-gunned Assault 'Mech at 86kph is something with which to be reckoned.

XL400 Banchees, and BLRs can attest to how effective that set up can be. It's scary.

Highly doubt that one will be there. It wasn't seen until way past phase 2 of the clan invasion. (3052)

I'm guessing that Mad Dog is going to be the mystery mech for the people who bought both packs.

BTW, when they say both packs, do they mean Wave 1 and Wave 2? or Masakari pack wave 1, and full wave 2?

I disagree on the Heavy. It has to be the Hellbringer as it was in the initial wave of the invasion.

Unfortunately, introducing the Hellbringer will break the stock variants unless the Primary variant is not included. Additionally, the bonus mech I believe will be the Mad Dog, which was in the first wave of the invasion. If this is Wave 2, then all bets are off.

EDIT: Also, I wish to bring up that the S variants were not in the initial wave of the invasion, yet we have the KFX-S, NVA-S, and TBR-S currently.
