Oh boy. Oooooooooh boy.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? I listened through the town hall the other night, and was about to convince myself to give this another chance. Russ actually sounded like he was trying to lay out some truth in there even while tossing IGP to the wolves (almost certainly justified). Then I see the space game thing, the fact that PGI also holds another beloved IP hostage (Wing Commander) and now this thing with Niko? Are you kidding me?

Nope, I just logged on to buff their retention numbers and add another gold founder voice to the side of justice. I see a lot of familiar names here that I figured I wouldn't see again at least on this forum, not least because I haven't been here in over a year. Niko was completely wrong in this. Much like many of PGI's business and game design decisions. Now I'll just go back to watching the fireworks of yet another PR disaster.

I'm not arguing that concerns are valid or anything. I was just commenting that it's amusing. Some people in this thread are quite angry, probably even justifiably, but there comes a point when you cut ties and not only vote with your wallet by not supporting devs that are making a game but vote by simply no longer being a part of the community.

Actually now you are getting the point, because all of these people did exactly that. They aren't part of the community anymore. They came back to comment. Which is why one of my earlier posts was a suggestion to PGI to make good use of the opportunity to get in touch with a huge chunk of alienated players (most of them founders) and try to bring them back in.

Same here duder. I got MWO free beta invite and free Hawken Alpha invites at the same time, almost days apart. I said **** Hawken and played maybe 2 games of MWO before I went "Legendary *money cannon* Let's do this damn thing".

Yep me too. I actually got my beta invite 2 days before my friend and he gave me my signature as a result. Within the week we were legendary founders.

We believed in the game.

We doubled down with the Phoenix packages and then the clans.

This past weekend to now has been one giant mess and it needs to stop.

Thats why i said earlier on this page that it would be silly to bann ppl who post here their opinion, this is a rare moment to see ppl posting their opinion on the game/ pgi

And most of them are actually willing to come back and pay more money on a game which listens to its community instead calling them isanders or destructive´s

Yeah, are you... Are you serious? I mean come on, man. If you don't realize how terrible this makes you look, I truly have lost all hope for MWO.

LMAO.....Priceless. and a lot of truth here. Hope you like Karma PGI... it's coming full circle. Have Fun.

So people who hate the game and PGI saw an opportunity to screw with PGI, got away with it, and somehow PGI is still the bad guy in this? Can you people just leave?

I find it completely amazing how many people are terribly pissed off at the game, seem to hate it and it's developers, yet still play the game and post on it's forums.

Just sayin.

Voicing our opinions is now frowned upon I guess. Especially for those that were wrongly banned. But you wouldnt know anything about that right?

No, PGI broke reddit rules. A player who wanted to make sure that PGI's bullshit censoring of their subreddit came to the light of the mods.

Was he a disgruntled MWO player? Probably. However, he reported censorship on a neutral and open community.

Watching the Store page of Transverse for the past two hours. Haven't seen a single sale.

Don't think that "500k in 30 days" is going to happen. Wasn't going to happen before all of this anyways.

Meanwhile, you have an actual game out that is unfinished, in dire need of completion, with hundreds of players who left months, even years, ago to return temporarily and give it attention. Its not hard to figure out what the best decision is.

Now, Russ was correct in saying during the Town Hall that its generally inefficient for a developer to only be working on one game at a time. There's some genuine truth to that. However, when your only current project is an unfinished MMO that has been "launched", this "studio efficiency" rings hollow. Russ said that Transverse started in January of this year. I was playing in January of this year, and with the state that MWO was in, it never should've been ok'd. Seeing as IGP has nothing to do with it, they've got nobody to blame but themselves over this embarrassment and the embarrassment that is due twenty-eight days from now when Transverse fails to reach $500,000, probably fails to even reach $100,000.

PGI Logic, I suppose.

Ill add another founders tag to this post. It has provided so much entertainment value.

This is the culmination of years of neglect for your community and game PGI. People are mad and rightfully so.

As a community manager of a gaming based community I would rather not name ( we are not involved with MWO ) I am shocked an appalled at the actions of PGI and their employees.
I do what I do out of love for our organization , I don't even get paid.

A community manager (and parent company) should do everything they can to prevent being in an adversarial position to the customer. We (people) play games to relax and take time off of our daily lives, not to enjoy drama and certainly not to be worried about getting banned for expressing our opinion, whether it be on a private website or a community run one.

The events that have unfolded enacted by PGI and Niko today are (to put it lightly) unprofessional and uncalled for. It's one thing to have "unruly" posters on a game site, it's another thing completely to lower oneself to the level of the consumer. An eye for an eye..
The point of hiring a professional community manager is that that person manage the community in a way that doesn't breed hatred, and PGI has absolutely failed at that job. A professional community manager should manage the community by working with them, not getting mired in personal battles. It should never be personal.
To be clear, this isn't the work of one person. An employee must be endorsed by his or her company.

This is an embarrassment to anyone who has worked or works currently in customer service. This thread should have been a great opportunity to apologize to the community, with a promise to move forward amicably.

Instead, we have this. I hope everything pans out for the best.
