Huh?

What do you mean some people won't be able to drive it?

Do you think that the King Crab is *Only* going to be available as a reward?

heh, no silly. They will offer a cbills variants as well.

It's just a "hero" - like phoenix and founder mech reward, they will still offer the standard variant.

The K also had rear firing med lasers, and they were moved to the CT. So I think that you will find that it will be a D config with the CT lasers switched to missile points.

Why do people think it's gonna have a RT missile hardpoint? It's a canon design. We know where the weapons are. All of the missiles are in the left torso.

Well, if that were true, we'd have rear facing weapons in MWO (along with fewer hardpoints on various mechs)!

So, if we do see four Missile Hardpoints in that left torso, I expect to see a alot of 4 ASRM-6 AS7-S builds. And I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 ALRM-10s about also!

I think you will find that you're mistaken. A bone-stock AS7-S is armed with:
LA: Medium Laser
RA: Medium Laser
LT: SRM 6
LT: LRM 20
LT: Streak SRM 2 ®
LT: Streak SRM 2 ®
RT: AC20
CT: Medium Laser ®
CT: Medium Laser ®

It's basically an AS7-D upgraded to DHS, and using the weight savings to add two SSRMs. The fact that the SSRMs are rear-facing doesn't mean that they're not in the left torso. Every other rear weapon that has been made forward firing has remained in the same location as tabletop - only the facings have been changed.

Not if you have a founders one. Because its still way better than the Boars head for extra cbills.

I have one...I'm saying strictly on a battlefield efficiency level. I'd probably take my DW Prime out over my Founder's Atlas to make money if that was the goal (or numerous hero mechs).

But some people told me ECM was fine, so the DDC isn't really better than the other Atlas variants.

This is pretty much what I hope it would be. But I fear it would be too OP by PGI's standards. I would run AC20/4xASRM6/4xMLas all day

I would gladly trade away the 2 CT Energy slots for 4 Missile slots in LT

The worst case scenario is that they remove the 2 CT Energy and placed the 2 Missile in the CT. Absolute meh......

would go against their past record, which is to keep it TT stock, save where they have to which is rear firing or leg mounted weapons.

Maybe...they found a way to use rear mounted streak missiles...when a light comes within X meters and within the rear cone....it auto locks and fires...

No. The S will definitely dethrone the D-DC as the main Atlas brawler if it has 4E, 4M, 1B. Especially with the Loki/Hellbringer going on sale Wednesday, which will supplant the D-DC's role as the only ECM over 50 tons. Thats 2 medium lasers and 1 SRM6 more firepower or 23 additional damage per alpha strike. Plus those two CT medium lasers means youre still shooting after youve lost both side torsos. And it gets a 30% cbill bonus too which the D-DC doesnt. S is the new D-DC.

Quite frankly its about time. The Atlas has needed a buff for a VERY long while and adding the Atlas-S has been suggested numerous times as one possible solution to the Atlas' lack of hardpoints. All the Atlas needs now is a damage reduction quirk for its side torsos to keep its weapons intact longer and its golden.

I think that might be overstating it somewhat. In a world where teams are split IS/Clan, the DDC is currently still the only IS ECM carrier over 50t, which is likely to earn it a place in at least some team's drops.

In non-CW drops, who knows. Wouldn't bet against the DDC. A DR quirk on an Atlas would be amazing, though.

This should aid the speculation on hardpiont locations.

Odds are very good it's going to be an AS7-D-DC without the ecm at this point. But it's another Atlas, so it makes me smile =P

Then the RS is obsolete. So no that shouldnt happen.

Right now every Atlas has a purpose except for the Atlas-K which should get a second ballistic slot IMO.

NO! No! Bad AS7-K! You stay in the corner away from your more successful brothers.

Why couldn't you have been a D-DoCtor like your older brother...

If this were my wishlist atlas, it would be:
1E RA & LA - They're wide-set but they function
1B RT & LT - You know that I know that you know that I know that I want this. And so do you.
1M RT & LT - The SRM is real!
2E CT - Holdout lasers!
AMS anywhere - Probably left arm. Also probably unused.

I'm not even going to bother saying ECM.

But yeah, everyone who speculates quad missile hardpoints left torso are probably correct. But c'mon Ballistic left torso *Fingers crossed*

Thats what you should be able to do with it. There are 4 missile slots.... Going to be hot as hell though lol
