All the people claiming that the
Grasshopper is a "Fat/Slow
Quickraw" and "Based on Hardpoints, its going to be garbage." forget those three key points.
1)
Hardpoints are NOT set in stone.
PGI has changed hardpoints to create diversity and improve viability for other Mechs before, so why not now?
2)
Brace yourselves. Quirks are coming.
Even if PGI does nothing to the hardpoints(unlikely), we still have the new IS Quirk system which will show some love to Mechs that badly need it. Most likely, we will have BOTH a diversity of hardpoints between variants AND Quirks.

Now this won't matter to the high rollers, but not everyone is burning through stacks of c-bills everyday. So any savings means that more people can play those mechs sooner rather than later.
