Only for those looking for ambiguity.

Posted with the winning formula, in the opt in screen only. Increased only in 500k increments.

Either PGI is going a long way to mislead people (and if they are as incompetent as some claim, they shouldn't be so good at misleading. It's tough to be devious), or people are simply trying to find reasons to doubt and be negative.

The problem is the word global really which would generally point to total when all is added up. It might very well be only the total of 500K payouts, but they sure could have worded it better.

Quite possible.

But then we are talking about the same Devs who use the term "cooldown" for "RoF", so verbal clarity is apparently not a "thing" in BC? *shrugs*

Even you have to admit you're reaching Buddah, granted.....I totally get what your implying but I can't see a company in development of a FTP game surving with that kind of playerbase on any financial level....unless of course they somehow found the dumbest investors on Earth.

It's safe to assume that since the number given is a multiple of 500,000 then it's simply counting how many c-bills were awarded for reaching 130 points, also I imagine the number would be much higher if they included c-bill earnings from other sources.

Hmmm...I'm curious where I called them idiots......*reads posts again*..... nope, not there.

Did I say they are not masters of verbal clarity? Yes. Perhaps I need to exercise more clarity for you to comprehend that? ;)

Oh wait, but no...deliberately misinterpreting, reading more into things and obfuscating stuff by arguing over semantics and minutiae...that's your schtick. So I'll leave ya to it.

They found investors for Transverse...

And there were investors for Tactics... Yes, that was an IGP thing but the investors were still there.

A fool and his money...

I do like the new "dont let the door hit you" attitude they seem to be taking, what with Egomane saying as much and Russ saying "vote with your wallet" in the Town Hall.

If you don't like the new system you have several ways of making that known, without breaking the rules.

1. Make your frustration known!

Create a post about it on the forums. Preferable in an already existing thread if there is one.

2. Stop buying!

If you are buying MC or mech packages or whatever, stop doing so. You can combine that with 1.

3. Stop playing!

If you can't get yourself to play in an unliked gamemode, no matter what, then stop playing MWO completly until this is changed. You can combine this with 1. and 2.

What is not an acceptable solution, is to try to force your will, by griefing other players.

Well to be fair PGI created all these player base speculations when they removed the player counter. I still don't believe it's due to it being some kind of important data that has to be secret for business purposes, seeing lots of successful games are proud to show those numbers.

So do I.

So many people for so long shouting that "until PGI does it MY WAY!!!!! I'm taking my ball and going home!!!!"

And yet so many still here...still whining, but still here.

Kind of glad they feel confident enough to say, good, bad or indifferent, put up or shut up.

Mind you, wouldn't be the first time someone was over confident, but hey, if nothing else, it's more entertaining this way.

It was a bug remember? We were never supposed to have seen that. I liked that one dev who gave us those graphs afterwards (without numbers so they were meaningless) that showed how the population of the game runs and then told us "you dont need that information" and that it wouldnt be "positive for their business for [them] to show it"

Yeah, its not like theyre actually learning from their mistakes. If they just admit they were over proud in the past theyll make up all the goodwill they need to make more money and continue business as usual.

This has happened before, it WILL happen again

"Don't let the door hit you" attitude...

It says a lot though.

Even if potentially overconfident as Bishop says.....If PGI is bluffing they are dam good at it.

and that assumes everyone got 10 million. Didn't you need like a 130 match score and a win to get each 500K?

What percentage of MWO players do you think get 130 scores with any regularity. I break 100 pretty often, and have broke 150 a few times, but I would say getting twenty 130 pt outside of comp level players, which are the extreme minority of the playerbase, was not a common occurrence.

That's if I read the scoring right. Which since I only glanced at it friday, I could have wrong.

Yeah you needed 130 points to qualify which would translate into averaging about 2 kills, 6 assists, 450 damage per match providing no team damage was done. Those numbers don't really seem that crazy do they?

I mean I honestly don't consider myself that great of player and I knocked it out in I am guessing about 15 hour of play time which is roughly 60-80 matches this weekend.

Not everyone can play every week, and given MW fans trend older, many of us might have RL stuff to do. I have 2 friends who didn't play last weekend due to work for example.

i didnt opt in because: taking nieces pumpkin shopping, took cat to vet to get fixed.

WHY GOD?!?!?!? WHY REAL LIFE?!?!?!?!?

If I recall correctly, War Thunder usually had around 30k online whenever I played. Not saying MWO has near their player base, but isn't to bad considering.

But they had to directly shoehorn into the game us not being able to choose game modes anymore. That doesnt speak to high population.

Actually, we were polled about it, we said Go for it, and they did it.

And I'll point out that the solo queue largely doesn't have problems. The group queue, OTOH, has far fewer players and a much more complex jigsaw puzzle for the MM. This is actually where going for the vote instead of hard choice route helps, because the Matchmaker can prioritize making a GOOD MATCH over enforcing play-style preferences.

This was addressed in the first Town Hall, actually, IIRC.

Not sure if it was mentioned in the thread, but you need to at least double the number based on the c-bill rewards because for every team who won, there's a team that lost. Also, not everyone on the winning team will get the reward since only the ones scoring over 130 gets it. I know in my personal experience over the weekend that only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the winning team would have earned the reward.
