Even so, he asked for an example where a gaming company implemented a patch without testing it out on a public test server first. It isn't meant to be a support for my argument, just to show him that there are companies (and big ones too) that do that and it isn't just PGI.

GAME MECHANICS
H.U.D. CODING AND OPTIMIZATION
TUNNEL EXPLOIT IN CRIMSON STRAIT
MORE OGRANIZATION IN UI 2.0
ADD FREE LOOKING TO UI 2.0
ADD STRIP ALL COCKPIT ITEMS AND ALL MODULES ON MECHLAB PRIOR TO MECH CONFIG
FPS ISSUES DUE TO HUD AND SERVER BOTTLENECKING
IN GAME FREEZING THAT REQUIRES CTRL-ALT-DELETE AND ALT-TAB IN ORDER TO FIX SINCE CLOSED BETA


If you can change the way points are listed, and add all that extra stuff onto the HUD, than you can also fix the HUD. If you can add in a bunch of extra weapon modules and keep stacking more content into the game, than you HAVE to polish out the effects it has on the rest of the game. Put the cross-air on "Shift F11" as a 3rd option (aside from on and off, now also a cross-air) than we won't have to worry about the HUD sucking up the 10-20 fps that it currently does - on my rig.

I really, really hope you announce you plan to work on some of these listed problems after CW-2 launches. If not, than the majority of us won't give a damn about phase 3.

It would appear, by the way you have phrased this poll....that there are actually TWO topics that need to be "voted" on here.

Do you like ELO being closer in matches.

Do you like being able to chose what game types you play.


You have worded this poll in a way that people literally have to vote AGAINST one of the options they may want.

I am all for ELO being closer, while at the same time wanting the freedom to chose my game types.

The audacity of you obviously trying to skew the vote into the predetermined path you want to take is wrather disapointing.

If anyhting, this poll should read as:


Yes - I want ELO to be more accurate, so there should be NO CHOICE on what game mode you get to play.

NO - While I think matches should be fair, i shouldnt lose the freedome to play the matches i want to play. Fix the system in place to work more correctly with choice still in place.


Thats how their polls tend to be worded from what Ive seen. To get the decision they want rather than the one ppl want so they can then later go "we asked you.....".

Never mind that this type of biased poll would get removed (as it against the forum rules) if it was player created

This is an odd poll to me because clearly we are trying to address some underlying problem by raising this issue and making a poll on this. What is the problem?

I do not really like the the "Conquest" mode, I'm just not into it, why would I have to vote on this every time I get into a match? I don't get it.

On the unbalanced match thing, I don't mind waiting a while for the game to setup a match, lots of games work that way. I also just take steam roll overs in stride. I have seen very well balanced games (from a mech balance perspective) and one team just does not want to actually move around and use the map and they get rolled over. Skill will trump whatever shortcomings are in a game every time so I don't really get how PGI is responsible for this or can fix this.

I've been playing since closed beta and the ONLY nerf I felt was a good thing were the Gauss guns because of the gauss cat. Every other time something has been over powered I just found a way to adapt. I see people STILL bitching about missiles yet they stand in the open. I don't get it.

Either way this goes down I will roll with the changes. It's the little things that bug me like why do we still not have a proper HTAL display with bars instead of the outline of the mech? Why is chain fire actually round robin and not actually chain fire? Why is thermal vision so... meh. Where is MASC? Why has content been so slow? Why can't I choose the top 5 maps that I want in my rotation to play? Why is the map rotation que so bad? Anyway...

If I am playing a certain type of mech I REALLY may not want to play conquest in that mech so that may cause problems... I don't know.

I think more maps would really really make a big big difference to a lot of casual players. New mechs are great but some people that haven't truly jumped on the band wagon play in their same mech, log on, see same map. Add on top of that the terrible map rotation que in match making and the whole affair just seems pretty static and old which is why (I think) we aren't attracting enough new players.

It's complex issue and I am certainly no expert, but if PGI tries something new and it doesn't gel, just undo it and roll it back, trying different things is always a positive direction imho. Finding a solution to something like this might require several interations of trying things out.

This is actually why he's going forward with the Town Halls rather than the council atm, because noone CAN decide on anything (and because the council was like 100 ppl deep)

That's such an old picture lol. If I recall, that's from a thread about the lowest people saw lights %? TODAY. I've seen it well above 14%, and steady above 10%. For the first time in a while, I've seen heavies down to 20%, and assaults at 36% and mediums close to that. That screenshot was taken way back when clan packages came out and everyone ran timberwolves..

And for the reference sake.. Here's the freaking source for that picture.

So by your own evidence TODAY 14% are playing lights and usually it's about 10%. Hardly indicative of your hyperbolic post about the OPness of lights you eluded to in your original post is it?
